Final word from me.
Have read all the above. I am at peace with what I believe. I have prayed to the God that I know that His Holy Spirit will convict each of you and He will. Now you deal with it in any way you see fit. I have done what I am supposed to do.

The old evolution debate is one that we could have any time, any day and we'd get tons of responses. Kinda like how any sports radio show could do a Pete Rose topic any day and get callers.

One thing I would like to say, without really getting into the meat of the ongoing discussion, is something that I see often that bothers me. People like to pick on the Christian god, and act like if they have disproven him then they have disproven all concepts of god/religion. But that's not true, there's a lot more out there.

What really gets me is when people try to disprove that a god like being can exist either by making assumptions about the nature of such a being, or just by simply not being able to comprehend it, so therefore it must not exist. Lots of arrogance in that approach. My dog will never understand how my car engine works, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't exsist.

Wow, looks like this thread has risen from the dead.

The Bible is a great source of wisdom and philosophy. But I don't believe every word is "the word of God".

I hope I'm still here to post tomorrow.

You'd have to have the common sense portion of your brain Removed to believe it as fact. Lots of good guides to life but actual events? Please you just have to look at the Noahs ark story to know its BS. A Retarded child would have Questions about it. They have to get it into your brain while it's still soft so it sticks. I mean if you're 30 years old, never heard of it, "What did the animals that ate other animals eat" If you picked up the book at a yard sale for a dollar. Flip through it while you're on the john to you really and truly think you're going to say "Wow I think I've found my purpose in Life"

I think everyone has been given the choice to believe what they want. I am grateful that I am a believer. Its a shame that people come on here and denigrate those who believe in the Bible. The time will come when those who don't believe will have to make a choice. I have read where people state that they don't believe in God but its okay because "they live a good life." If you don't believe that Jesus is the Messiah and will come back and rapture his church it really doesn't matter how you live your life.

TFAN declares: If you don't believe that Jesus is the Messiah and will come back and rapture his church it really doesn't matter how you live your life.

SH: I' m a Christian who does not embrace the notion of the Rapture.

I have plenty of reasons to motivate me to making smart personal and moral choicesi in my life.

One need not act out of fear they will not qualify for some kind of "Judgement" after passing from this plane.

The many positive benefits and consequences tied to good choices and the inverse negative results and consequences of poor choices should be sufficient guidance for most of us. If you're not sure which is which, seek counsel from trusted folks with experience.<!-- / message -->

My statement stands. I believe what the Bible says. If you don't believe Jesus is the Messiah you will not go the heaven. Cut and dry, no exceptions.

You sound like my brother TF. I am a believer, but I just can't buy the concept that 3/4 of the world will go to hell. How about someone who has never been exposed to the teachings of Christ?

One thing that I have always found rather interesting... the minority telling the majority they are wrong.

Can I ask how you decided to believe this aspect (Jesus returns with his big rapturemobile and scoops up 144,000 or whatever the saved number is), but not other parts of the bible?

I choose not to kill or steal - but thats because I believe in the golden rule. As far as covet goes...you try living next door to a 33 year old MILF with DD's and a pool and see how far long that commandment lasts.

No, once the rapture occurs everyone who didn't believe will then have the opportunity to do so. God will rein down his 21 judgements for seven years after the rapture. God loves everyone and will provide them many opportunities to believe. He doesn't expect anyone to be perfect. Jesus died on the cross for us. God will forgive any sin as long as you as for forgiveness.
