So RG3 16 TDs in last 14 games

Cousins 6 TDs in 2 games

If you wanna make the argument that RG3 was just fucked last year then that is fine I guess. It'll take some time for that 1 to be proven wrong but if you wanna make the argument RG3 has been more effective than Cousins in recent history, you are going to need to leave that apple on the tree and let it be.

Was he good against Jax and Philly, yea he played great. Did he suck last year, yes he was God awful. Did he suck last night yes, one of the worst qb performances I've ever seen in the NFL.

Has RG3 ever sucked that bad? Absolutely not. He did not play great last year, but he definitely was not that bad. It's not even a reasonable debate. RG3 is far better than Kirk Cousins.

Akphi I don't really have any vested interest in who is better but a lot of RG3s success in his rookie year came from elements that just aren't in place anymore.

1. Shanahan has done really well making mobile QBs look good (see Plummer, Jake)
2. The read option isn't really effective anymore and the Skins obviously used that very well in 2012.
3. He was 100% healthy then and he might never be the same now..

You don't see the absurdity in saying it isn't a reasonable debate when you are on the other side of said debate 24hrs ago?

CC had a really bad game in week 4
Had a really great game in week 3

He has at least 6 more weeks to prove which week was real and which one was a fluke.

He ran the read option twice against Jax and got over 10 yards each time. Last year they didn't want to run the read option because of his knee. And as a Skins fan I jumped the gun and put some faith in to Cousins. Even though for the past 2 years it has been clear as day that RG3 was better. Lapse of judgement on my part. What Cousins did last night is inexcusable. It's what he did last year.

Once RG3 is even close to ready to play he'll be back in. 20 turnovers in 11 games. That's brutally pathetic.

We'll see.....I don't see him being effective in Gruden's scheme.

And I'm not sure he can stay healthy long-term either. He hasn't looked the same since the injury he had in late 2012 before the ACL. I mean you can laugh at me saying sample size all you want but he has now had 3 legit injuries in the NFL in his short career and hasn't looked like a dynamic player for a minute now.

If he balls out feel free to bump the thread though, I'll suppress my anger and hatred for him and say your right.

But I do agree with pf on the fact that Washington hired the wrong coach for rg3.
What were they thinking?
Chip Kelly would have been perfect.

I cannot think of a worse offense for rg3s skillset.

lol maybe because he can pickup the tab at dinner better. RG3 is terrible in a offense with an emphasis on pocket passing man.

Even if you think RG3 is legit, then Gruden was a terrible hire because it is an awful fit. Although if you think RG3 is legit you probably didn't watch football last year or the first few weeks this year.

Cousins vs JVille and Philly blows away anything RG3 has done in a long time. Dude has one bad week because JPP is back on HGH and everyone is ready to go back to RG3, lol.

I'm team VTE on this one pretty solidly.

You mean the #26 and #32 defenses in the league in yards given up? Those two teams?

Come on Pats, you know better.

yeah RG played no bad Ds last year when he sucked....

Also his performance is what has those Ds rated 26th and 32nd right now.

I didn't say he didn't but to stroke the shaft of KC because of two games against bad defenses isn't quite logical either.

Not trying to crown him either, just saying I like him over RG3.

1) You are throwing away his rookie season like it doesn't matter
2) He was coming off a major injury last year where he spent the whole offseason and pre-season recovering from injury rather than getting better
3) You are pointing to a Jags game as Cousins looking good? Prior to RG3 getting hurt that game you could clearly see the skins were going to dominate. He ever threw a perfect ball that was caught by DJax but for some reason was called incomplete. And yes...its a few passes before getting hurt, but he looked good in the pocket
4) We have seen Cousins play and he turns the ball over way too much. To say he faced pressure last night means you didn't watch a Redskins game last year. RG3 faced way more pressure than that all last season.
5) Both are in their third year and its very early, I saw RG3's rookie year - where he carried a pathetic redskins team and brought life into a franchise and did something with a team I just don't ever think Cousins could do

So yea - i think RG3 is better than Cousins and i dont think its close

Crazy it is so obvious RG3 is better than Cousins yet Gruden wouldn't even say it is his job when he gets back. Organization is really confident in his future as their QB right?

Considering everything they gaveup to acquire him, that pretty much tells you all you need to know about his perceived value.

Also you know that rookie year was 3 injuries ago right? I suppose it is possible he gets back to that level, sure, why not?

Fans gonna fan I guess....

By the way, Bryce Petty has shown how replaceable RG 42 was. Cousins may stink, all I ever said was that he is better than RG 42. I know for a fact RG 42 sucks, can't say the same for Cousins. Know matter what, he is better than RG 42. Notice how Cousins throws the ball down the field, what a concept. RG messes around with the pointless read option and screen passes to make his numbers look better than they really are.
