Read my no no alert thread CP......Fools were telling me I was wrong....lol

You're referring to me and all I said was that Greinke was the favorite at that point, but it would come down to how they finished.

Funny enough I just found this article from 9/2 (after Arrieta's NH) showing that Greinke was in fact -200 and Jake +300 at Bovada at that point. So I guess if I am a fool than oddsmakers are fools too, fool.

I was right, you were wrong. The conversation wasn't who would win it, the conversation was who was leading the race at that point. Christ you are dense.

At the time of that thread if the vote would have been that day you would have been wrong.

All people were saying in that thread was it was not over yet.

Now if you were making a prediction instead of saying it was over that would be different.

If you were predicting that Jake was going to win then you made a good prediction because yes he is going to win.

But at the time he was not the front runner.

10 or so starts later he is the front runner.

only way Zach don't win is all the east coast voters went to bed and didn't see him pitch with a bullpen or offense he could of been 15-2 at the break in July

and the 2 loses he gave up 1 run and 2 run could of been 17-0 at the break ##)

and in the 45 2/3 innings scoreless streak he got 2 ND and 29 out of 31 QS

are the voters tired of the Dodgers winning it :think2:

it's a season award :toast:

We all know Zach is great. One man winning is no slight on the other.

Both have had tremendous seasons. A shame they can't both win, but hopefully they square off in game 1 of the NLCS. :toast:

Both pitchers would win this award 19 out of 20 seasons.
The only season where the loser would not win it is whoever does not win it this season.

You can argue that both pitchers had the best and 2nd best individual seasons in the last 20 years.

They both did it in the same season so one of these guys is going to get left out.

They both absolutely destroyed anything any of the AL guys did.

Its a shame that somebody is going to win the Cy Young in the AL and one of these 2 in the NL wont.

AL/NL is a different game and the numbers aren't even comparable.

Hopefully some day the AL mans up. Until that time there is no point even comparing the 2.

Its different but not that different.

Pedro showed everyone that you can be great in the AL.

Its not that night and day.

And the gap is not as drastic as it use to be with all the interleague games.

There is more of a difference pitching in Wrigley vs Dodger Stadium then there is pitching in AL vs NL.

American League pitcher generally get more wins then NL pitchers because they dont have to be pinch hit for in close games like NL pitchers.

Still Jake managed to get more wins then any AL pitcher.

CHICAGO (CBS) — An arbitration settlement between the Chicago Cubs and National League Cy Young winner Jake Arrieta still appears likely before next Tuesday’s scheduled hearing in the Phoenix area.
The Cubs have offered $7.5 million. Arrieta and powerful agent Scott Boras have requested $13 million.
What’s at stake is possibly the highest increase and pay for a second-year arbitration pitcher in the history of the process. David Price set that second-year arbitration record by getting $10.1125 million from the Rays in 2013. That was about a $5.8 million increase from his $4.35 million contract of 2012.
Arrieta, 29, made $3.63 million in 2015, when he went 22-6 with a 1.77 ERA. The midway point of the two offers for his case would be $10.25 million, easily attainable for both sides and which would mark an increase of $6.62 million. If Boras and Arrieta want to push further, the two sides may take all weekend to dice out the issue. Both parties have said that there will be no personal hard feelings throughout this process, which can sometimes become contentious as the sides argue in their own favor.
The Arrieta camp would love to resolve this all with a long-term contract. A six-year deal was floated in some areas in the last few weeks. After having the best second half of any pitcher in baseball history by posting a 0.75 ERA, Arrieta would love to make a career commitment to Chicago. The Cubs may want to see a second dominant season by Arrieta before putting a $25-million-a-year price tag on a long-term deal.

“It is absolutely realistic,” Arrieta said of the possibility of a long-term contract a couple weeks ago at Cubs Convention. “Myself, my wife and kids are extremely happy here in Chicago. It is up to the Cubs and my agent to get together and have that conversation and see where it goes.”
The Cubs have contract control of Arrieta for two more seasons. He’s set to become a free agent in November 2017.
“It is a possibility, and I would like to see where it goes, “Arrieta said of a long commitment by both sides. “Maybe something will get done.”
