I wish making a wager on this was practical

Using numbers the way you use them, quite a few guys should have already set new home run records, but they don't

time is batting 1,000, aging has never lost out

assuming anyone is going to age like Mo is like assuming some cute girl is going to look like Christie Brinkley when she's 60

not many people have genes that good, and not everybody can avoid injuries, and not everybody can be the best in the game at age 36,37,38,39 and 40

You would be wrong about that.
The save stat is far from a mature stat.

Being the alltime saves leader in 2015 is about like being the alltime homerun leader in 1915.

Not only will kimbrel pass up MO. But many many other will to in the next 20 years.

Just like many many many people have passed up the alltime homerun leader in 1915 whoever that was.

oh boy, now you're comparing 652 career saves in 2015 with 138 career home runs in 1915

seriously? lets do the math. People have hit 138 home runs in three seasons many many many times, how many times have pitchers saved 217 games in one year (653/3) ? I'm not sure I've ever seen a worse analogy, I mean c'mon man!

But if Kimble is the closer until age 40 and completes 19 years in baseball as the closer, he only has to average 32 saves per year for the next 13 seasons. Good luck with that

if he only is the closer until the over the hill age of 37, he has to average 42.3 saves

1) he can't get old, he has to age like Mo
2) he can't get injured, he has to stay healthy like Mo
3) he has to stay on the top of his game like no player besides Mo has
4) he has to keep his closer's job

the probability of all that happening is much more unlikely than likely

37 years old is not old for a closer.

All the greats pitched well into the 40's

MR, ECK, Hoff, Lee Smith etc....

CK has never had an injury he has had well over 42 saves every season except for possibly this one 39 so far.

If he throws a shut out tonight.....That ERA will be around 1.75....Not for off from 1.68.

I wonder if the voters will take his no hitter into account.

He`s pitching the wild card game....So Joe might pull him early.

Only 60 pitches after 5 innings.

If he can get this ERA down to 1.75 not much of a difference to 1.68....22 wins and a no hitter.....He`s the cy young.

He`s out.....So if the bull pen holds this lead he ends the season...22-6 with a 1.77 ERA...And a no hitter.
