Michigan is in. They put Michigan at #5. They want Michigan in. This is purposeful in my opinion. Don't be surprised if one of them loses. The very calculated Harbaugh manipulated this in his presser. He doesn't care if people call him a winer. The ratings will go through the roof if Michigan and Ohio state play each other again. Purposeful!!!!

Michigan will not be in

Michigan is not in under any circumstances.

I agree. I have a hard time seeing how they get in. Alabama and OSU are in. I believe either Big Ten champ will get in before UM, and I'd probably add Colorado to that list.

It seems to me that if they gave a damn about Wisconsin and Penn St, they would have ranked them 5 and 6 respectively. I find it interesting that Michigan got the 5 spot- ahead of both of them. Arbitrarily placed there? Ahead of Colorado too!

Ratings and money! Michigan is good for business. We shall see.

The big 10 was clearly the best conference this year and their champ is going to need help to make the playoff, that just doesn't make sense to me

Michigan beat Colorado. So, I don't see anything surprising or unfair about Mich being ranked ahead of Colo, even if Colorado looked they had a shot before Liufau got hurt.

No, it wasn't the best, and it wasn't close. They had two great teams at the top and two really good teams, but Rutgers, Purdue, and Illinois were so bad at the bottom that the conference as a whole was maybe third best.

Who could you possibly put ahead of big 10?

There best beat down the B12 and PAC 12 best. The same could be said for the SEC, outside Bama who else is there? Florida is a joke, LSU had to fire their Coach and AM is a fraud again late in the season.

let's say USC won PAC 12 and was in playoffs at 12-2 and one of those losses was a 50-0 beat down by Bama, you'd still put them above a 1 loss Bama who didn't win conference? That is crazy talk

No, what we're talking about is putting teams in the same division over conference winners. If Colorado won the PAC12 and they put USC in over Colorado that would be crazy.

How many losses does penn st have?

OK, so if PSU had UW's non-conf schedule they would jump OSU if they won the B10 title game? So the message to PSU and others would be schedule weaker non-conf opponents like UW. That is the message the committee wants to send?

in fact, if they just took conf champions you would actually see better non-conf matchups because teams would not be afraid to lose. Big, nonconf games if they could still win their conf title. Who did Bama play 2 weeks ago? That matchup is shameful for late November.

Its one week of rankings. It means prerty much nothing, just ask TCU. We went through this last year. Michigan is where they should be but no matter what they won't be in.

Wisconsin and Penn State have 2 losses, just like Michigan. Michigan beat both of them. Its easy to figure out. Its far from rocket science

All of this discussion is clear evidence the playoff should be EIGHT teams, period.

To me it seems obvious that Michigan isn't the obstacle for the B10 champ to get in.

Why don't we get Clemson and Washington to lose and just put all 3 Big 10 teams in since they're so great!! I don't think the Big 10 is as good as people think. If Clemson wins Saturday it will be a rematch of last years championship game. Big 10 will not be represented in the championship game unless they play each other in the semifinals.

You just proved my point. Tosu has only one loss compared to penn states 2. They also played much stronger schedule. 1 3pt loss on rd compared to a 50 pt loss penn st had
