Only other thing I will say and I honestly believe this with respect to TCU and or Baylor...If the teams in question were Texas or Oklahoma, this would not even be debated. Both Texas or Oklahoma would be in because of the "swagger" carried by their program names. If this is the case, then the committee is a farce.
Well, at least they got one thing right in that it looks like we may finally get the match-up everyone has been hoping for, Alabama vs Oregon for all the marbles. SEC homers vs the PAC homers should make for some interesting "discussions" on this board going forward.
WinOne... if OU or Texas were 11-1 they would more than likely be "legit" powers since they have the better overall talent than Baylor or TCU. But Texas is still picking themselves up off the ground and OU's coaching has been horrendous. Until these two programs get back up to speed we are going to continue to see musical chair champions of this conference like we've had for the past 5 years...Only other thing I will say and I honestly believe this with respect to TCU and or Baylor...If the teams in question were Texas or Oklahoma, this would not even be debated. That ship has sailed. The formation of the Big 12 fifteen years ago was simply a huge mistake and doomed from the start. There was just too much friction over the way the conference was set up and the disagreements between the north and south for it to be a long term conference..GS, you guys need to use some of that oil money down there and get those SW schools back into the fold... No way A & M, Missouri, & Arkansas should be SEC teams... Nebraska shouldn't be in Big Ten either... That Conference was the best back in the day....plain and simple
Guys wake up its all about MONEY! it will always come down to ratings and money... Ohio st was always going to be in if the won out... think about it Alabama vs TCU or Baylor? or Alabama vs Ohio ST Nick vs Urban... its a no brainer.....

I think the two programs they would look at first are Cincinnati and Memphis. I don't see the Big 12 looking west. But if desperation sets in, nothing would surprise me. I know BYU is desperately looking for a conference. But they want to get in by "their" terms. I'm not sure that's going to work with the fat cats in this conference..Unfortunately when all three of Colorado, Kansas St., and Nebraska fell on hard times the balance of power shifted too far to the south of the Big 12 conference and then Texas really started to try to use their influence to bully the rest of the conference which pissed off Nebraska and others as well. If they are going to add two more teams what do you think maybe: Colorado St., BYU, maybe Boise? I know the sticky point for CSU is that high school stadium they play in, but I think they have approved a new stadium and the infusion of cash by the Big 12 would be enough to get that done. BYU would give them the Salt Lake city and national TV markets and who would not like to see a Christian (TCU) vs Mormons battles?
Welp, that makes two of us. I would like to have been in that room. But from what I am gathering from interviews of it's members, this was a very close vote despite OSU having the better SOS. The chairman just admitted that there were multiple votes to get the end result! Basically, they didn't like the result of the first vote, so they changed it...WOW. That was basically a screw you nod to the Big 12...I would love to be a fly on the wall of the Committee meeting. What are the real agendas and who are the real powers on the Committee vs the followers? Think Osborne has any love for the Big12? Comments from Long after its done won't shed any real light IMO.
