I forget who said it on here but the point was brilliant. The Repubs will never repeal Roe V Wade or completely ban abortion because it's one of their "get elected" issues. If it's gone, they don't have many other reasons to be elected.

Disagree. It may get some Republicans elected some of the time, but it doesn't help in many situations. Of course it would probably indeed be worse for them if women were being tossed in jail for exercising the reproductive rights that they had previously had for over 30 years.

"The first thing I'd do as president is sign the Freedom of Choice Act. That's the first thing that I'd do." -- Senator Barack Obama, speaking to the Planned Parenthood Action Fund, July 17, 2007

So tell me more about the Freedom of Choice Act. If it fully reflects the description in your lead post, I want to put some civic action behind it

WILLIE gets way loose with: Obama can't wait to sign the Abortion Rights Act, allowing all abortions all the time without question....

SH:...In fact the Freedom Of Choice Act does no such thing since it firmly defines when a pregnant female may NOT legally terminate a pregnancy.

====
W: without parental notifications.....

SH: There is absolutely no reference within the FOCA that addresses whether or not a minor age pregnant female's parents must be notified.
At the moment and until further notice, such laws only exist at the state level.

====
W: .... and paid for by the American taxpayer.

SH: And there is absolutely no reference within the FOCA that states that any (or all) abortions will be paid for by American taxpayers.

Good gosh...blast Obama on those issues with which you disagree, but don't burn your integrity by just making shit up en masse.

Here is PDF version of HR 1964 which has yet to be passed into federal law.

Won't suck for long we have a Conservative Chief Justice now & after McCain kicks Obamas ass there will be one or 2 more Conservative Justices in there then It's only a matter of time before Roe vs Wade is overturned..Id say within 5 years then & only then will the Country be headed back on the right track.

Funk,

Don't you understand that roughly half this country believes that
human life begins at conception, and that makes abortion murder.

Simple as that.

n a speech before Planned Parenthood last July, Barack Obama said: "The first thing I'd do as president is sign the Freedom of Choice Act." Obama is a co-sponsor of the act, which would prohibit discrimination against abortion through the "regulation or provision of benefits, facilities, services, or information"--i.e. if government funds childbirth, government must fund abortion.

Following Obama's Planned Parenthood speech last July, the Chicago Tribune reported: "Asked about his proposal for expanded access to health insurance, Obama said it would cover 'reproductive-health services.' Contacted afterward, an Obama spokesman said that included abortions." So Obama supports taxpayer funding not just for Medicaid recipients' abortions. In principle, he supports coverage for anyone who wants it.

Obama wants taxpayers to pay for abortions.

The Abortion Act Obama can't wait to sign prohibits any state from restricting abortions for any reason. He is on record as being for infanticide, doesn't want the Doctor to have wasted his time y'know. He wants abortions part of his national "health care" (what a fucking joke) plan.

You do the math.

Now, answer the questions I posed bardude.

Riddle me this bardude, how can one say in a debate that he opposes late term abortions while wanting to sign the above legislation? How can one be opposed to late term abortions when one actually supports and condones infanticide in the case of botched abortions?

Furthermore, why does one choose to blatantly misrepresent his true beliefs to the voting public?

If this is the "POLICY" Americans want, why can't he be proud and admit what he supports?

I think Obama position on this here abortion issue, assuming I got this here issue correct, is very wrong. Let the children laugh, play, sing, go to school to learn stuff and be productive and happy.

The Democrats would support killing a defenseless baby when it be the wrong gender or had no hair or any other reason. I think their position is wrong and bad!

Kill a defenseless baby, give me a big fat break!
