Thanks man, I am sorry to say it too...I had been dreading the trip the past 3-4 months with it nearing, just couldn't get past the reality of being that high in the air with no control...I got my ticket and all....If we could have an east coast trip I'd just drive...I'm really tired of explaining the fear but feel I have to...I don't know how else to explain it other than I can't do it...I thought I could will myself to do it.

Just because the fear of flying (aviophobia) isn't rational, that doesn't mean it isn't real. I have a slight case myself, but you seem to have the full blown phobia...I feel sympathy for you. It can be treated, by the way, but it's probably not worth it just to attend the Rx Bash. The fact that you did fly to Atlanta a few years back should give you hope and confidence that you could cure yourself of this phobia if you so chose.
