Well, the other option could involve a complete withdrawal (and I don't just mean from Iraq) by the US. This is a region that has been warring with each other for millenia ... how arrogant is Bush to think that he and his PNAC operatives with their MidEast Reform Initiative can change millenia of deep-rooted cultural and religious hatred? The only thing he is accomplishing there is a united front by all Muslims against the Americans ... just get the hell out and stay the hell out. I don't buy this crap that they are a threat to your security ... provided, of course, that you stop threatening theirs.

Today's American seems to think that they have a moral obligation to change the world, even if its altruistic ends come by way of military means. It's absolutely absurd and it's doomed to failure. If you don't realise this sooner than later, the only way this war will ever be winnable is through a series of nukes being dropped on the whole region. That cannot be what you really want.
