gambling is fundamentally flawed to prevent 99 percent of people who bet to ever come out ahead over time.

its not hard to win a bet. ill still maintain i can flip a coin and have a 50/50 shot on a spread, regardless of line movement, etc which i dont buy into.

reason why nobody makes money is because people always try to one up, and get more. dont have the willpower to stop themselves. they get hot, win a good amount, then get cold and lose it all back because they want to one up the book.

i think gambling is alright once in awhile. it is a negative money making model though. should only be viewed as entertainment spending money coming from what you have after monthly expenses, savings, etc.

problem is a lot of people, id say over half bet money they cant afford to gamble.

This is pretty much what gambling is all about. The books are counting on you winning so you can bet more, and then ultimately lose the bigger bets. Unless you're a stone cold businessman gambler, it's hard not being tempted to raise the stakes on a good hit. Hitting one game can sometimes seem easy...But hitting that 3 team parlay gets infinitely harder. The law of averages says even the very best cappers only hit about 60% of their games...And some years don't even do that good...It means their money management has to be impeccable to make it a way of living.

IF it wasnt for sports gambling I would be living in a van down by the river, instead I can afford 1500 for my 1 bedroom apt and can eat fish tacos at wahoos everyday and 200 a week for gas.

this is my interpretation of how it works for the majority of gamblers in general. just think about it. i deposit 250 at the greek. i tell myself if i hit this bet im going to withdraw my money. you hit the bet, your balance is say 450 now. now you think wow, that is easy, and that thought about getting the 450 out flutters away. you hit 2 more in a row now, up to say 700. you are invincible. you make your next bet, for say 200, you lose. you make another bet, you lose. then eventually you end up pissing it away in the casino or losing it to end back at 0.

see the book knew they had you beat when you were at 450 placing the next 200 bet since they knew if you were smart you would've withdrew the 450 once you won it, instead of trying to go for more.

that is why i say its fundamentally flawed where literally nobody wins in the long haul. very very very very few people able to get out after feeling so great about winning a bet.

Before Neteller shut down, I was making enough to support
my family between casino bonus-hunting, poker, and
sports-betting. Plus, I had the same full-time job I have now -
so everything I made online went into real-estate investments.

Since Neteller shut down I play some occasional poker, but most
of the fishies have left the pond.

None of that does anything to refute the OP's point. I do think he's wrong about a few, but he's right in large part.

If you have a large enough bankroll and can consistantly pick winners and stay off tilt when things go bad, I don't see why it couldn't be done. No doubt there are people in the world making a living off of it, though it is rare

What's the big deal with starting over after you withdrawn from building a bankroll? That's what it's all about isn't it? How do you allow yourself to lose it back? Pointless.:aktion033
