THey are not sure of immunity......it's mutated!
I think Italy numbers are finally going to start going way down in the next 72 hrs .

30% of all test came up positive today.

Yes that’s bad news and more deaths but there will be a lot of immune people in Italy very soon

I’m calling this peak Italy today or tomorrow

Who knows - Italy has about 60 million people and 47K cases - or about 7% of the population - this loony toon governor is CA predicts over 50% of the state will get it - if that the case Italy's numbers should go a lot higher

49 deaths yesterday. 57 deaths the day before in the US. Things are getting better and we will be back to normal within 2 weeks.

Why? In Illinois there are 4 deaths. Schools have been closed for more than a week. Restaurants and bars have been shut down for days and today we are on total lock down.

Coronavirus tests performed:

316,664 - South Korea
206,886 - Italy
66,976 - UK
54,956 - Canada
54,205 - USA
43,735 - Norway
13,486 - India

Germany's kicking everyone's ass on the testing front. They have more cases but also fewer death. I always thought more testing would lower the death rate. I was thinking 1% was the best bet, but after looking at Germany it might even be lower. But don't let that get us into a false sense of security. The scary part of this is everything we know is still based on anecdotal evidence so far. The most alarming statistic, IMO, isn't the death rate. This could end up having a death rate similar to the flu. The most alarming statistic is the the hospitalization stat. With the flu, your chances of being hospitalized is 1%, with COVID-19 it's anywhere from 15 to 20%. Yikes. That's up to 20 time the amount of people seeking care, which will be devastating.

this was my post from 2 days ago..

History will show that we have made a monumental mistake shutting down the economy over the Kung flu..

Certain steps should be and have been taken... shutting down travel to badly infected areas was a good move... Quarantining older people maybe even to a mandatory level should have been another .

The rest of us carry on.. If you're sick stay home just like any other time with any other sickness..

State a major health alert.. people can take precautions as needed..

The things is, in that scenario, if 10, 20, 50% or more got infected, then the economy would be shut down anyway to the degree of infections. The virus problem would be much more prolonged, & dealing with it more like cutting a cancer out a bit at a time over a number of operations. Better to operate once & remove the thing all at once.

Also way more people would become infected, hence more deaths, more ill health, loss of quality of life, & therefore probably overall damage to the economy in the long run.

Then there is the possibility of the longer the virus thrives & the more it spreads, the greater chance of it mutating into something else that has to be dealt with, something even worse.

What makes them immune? Did someone invent a vaccine?

"Researchers do know that reinfection is an issue with the four seasonal coronaviruses that cause about 10 to 30 percent of common colds. These coronaviruses seem to be able to sicken people again and again, even though people have been exposed to them since childhood."

"It's also possible that, for some reason, the body's immune response to seasonal coronaviruses is just not that robust or that something about the infection itself may inhibit the body's ability to develop long-term immunity.

"Maybe the antibodies are not protective and that is why, even though they are present, they don't work very well," says Frieman.

The other known human coronaviruses, SARS and MERS, can cause more severe disease, and basically nothing is known about the possibility of reinfection with those viruses."

Our Future. The entire Flight 462 and beginning of The Walking Dead. Love the line in the little 13 minute vignette. "You think it's that flu that's been going around"
