Using that method, you will be broke in no time. This past NHL season, I had a time where I went like 4-16 in a 20 game set. It was absolutely horrific. Granted, I was betting dogs only, but if I were to have had my unit size set at 10% or 7.5% or even 5%, I would have depleted my bankroll completely or to 25% or so from where it started. Since I was only betting around 1% on each bet, it wasn't a problem and I was still around a month later when I won 15 of 17 bets in the NHL.

Sports betting is a roller coaster, which is exactly why money management should always be your top priority.

I must admit this was my own reaction when I first saw SAWYER's recommended percentages v bankroll

For the past couple months I've been using about 5% of my bank per wager, but they're nearly all 2TeamParlays with avg +money on each selection. And I've had a decent eye and am winning about three for every ten placed.

So while I might lose 7 Units, the 3 winners pay a bit over 3x1 and I've yet to be overly exposed. Were I betting Straights, I'd counsel strongly to not top 2% per wager

If someone goes 0-3 when betting 1-2 % of BR; they essentially have the same BR; and should not change bet size..

If someone goes 0-6 when each bet is 1-2% of BR; they essentially have the same size BR; and should not change bet size; or could change that size either up or down 10-20%; with little net effect on Gambler's Ruin.

But if your betting has taken you from 100K BR to 50 K BR; you are at a point where taking an honest look at your capping might be a good idea ;and where now your bet size is 2 x the % when you had 100K BR. If you are not going to decrease your bet size when your BR is halved; is there ever a point you would decrease your amount of wager...
