Min buy in $500
Max buy in $1,000
Seems like this would give us the biggest opportunity for number of contestants. The final buy in could be decided after a feel for how many people we could get at each amount. Obviously everyone wants more money in the pot so it would be dependent on what is most optimal.
I personally hate watching or betting regular season MLB but for the function of the contest and for the start date I guess it has to be included since I'm sure no one wants to wait until August to start.
Isn't the point of betting to win money? Hell I can remember hitting 80% in stretches with my baby min bets and losing every monster and sure I might have hit 65% for a month but I lost a shit ton of money. By using a fake bankroll and deciding dollar amounts on plays it would encompass the most important gambling downfall of money management. Some people will go big and go home and others will be steady and chip away. Wouldn't this make it more fun if it is possible to track? I'd vote 1K buy in, some kind of fake bankroll betting (I think this would also eliminate any problems in the MLB and allow people to risk high juice lines). Again, I could care less who hits the highest percent don't we all want to follow the guys making the most money?
Either way I'm in and it sounds like a great time. Would contestants have to post before their first selections at whatever point they joined? Seems fair. It would also benefit early entries because the sooner you joined in baseball the bigger selection of games you'd have to choose from compared to cramming NCAA,NFL and MLB if you joined in late August or so.
Prize breakdown mentioned above sounds good but I would personally like more of the pot kept for the top yearly finishers compared to small bonuses etc. I played in a league similar to this once and it just felt like the guy who won should have scooped so much more.
Cool idea.
