Min buy in $500
Max buy in $1,000
Seems like this would give us the biggest opportunity for number of contestants. The final buy in could be decided after a feel for how many people we could get at each amount. Obviously everyone wants more money in the pot so it would be dependent on what is most optimal.

I personally hate watching or betting regular season MLB but for the function of the contest and for the start date I guess it has to be included since I'm sure no one wants to wait until August to start.

Isn't the point of betting to win money? Hell I can remember hitting 80% in stretches with my baby min bets and losing every monster and sure I might have hit 65% for a month but I lost a shit ton of money. By using a fake bankroll and deciding dollar amounts on plays it would encompass the most important gambling downfall of money management. Some people will go big and go home and others will be steady and chip away. Wouldn't this make it more fun if it is possible to track? I'd vote 1K buy in, some kind of fake bankroll betting (I think this would also eliminate any problems in the MLB and allow people to risk high juice lines). Again, I could care less who hits the highest percent don't we all want to follow the guys making the most money?

Either way I'm in and it sounds like a great time. Would contestants have to post before their first selections at whatever point they joined? Seems fair. It would also benefit early entries because the sooner you joined in baseball the bigger selection of games you'd have to choose from compared to cramming NCAA,NFL and MLB if you joined in late August or so.

Prize breakdown mentioned above sounds good but I would personally like more of the pot kept for the top yearly finishers compared to small bonuses etc. I played in a league similar to this once and it just felt like the guy who won should have scooped so much more.

Cool idea.

What you think of this spread?

25% of pot for season long champion
15% of pot for season long 2nd place
10% of pot for season long 3rd place
50% of pot to 5 individual sport winners (10% x 5 sports assuming hockey is out.)

the reason I like the spread is so that when I bomb ass at the first 2 sports and find myself 30 units back, I keep playing because there are other prizes to be won (individual sports)

I agree with this and have always felt the winner and/or top 3 should be rewarded royally.

Isn't the excitement of hitting the big prizes the whole point of playing in these types of contests?

Don't get me wrong though, I'm ok with whatever the majority is...

im torn... If your the best at the sport, I feel like you should win something.... And top 3(depending on entries) for year should be paid, but top prize should be desirable..

I think the mini prizes help reward a good job for that sport. Overall should get the biggest prizes.

For example, I think if we had 10 ppl w/ $1k buyins

each sport champ win $1k
and the 1st place total champ (which you would think also at least hit one or two of the individual sport prizes) gets $2.5k, and another $1.5k and $1k for 2nd and 3rd.

seem like big enough prizes for me. but I see your points

10?? Yeah maybe if it was a $1000 post up...
I think $1k is a little rich personally, maybe not though. I would expect at least 30 people for $500

I like mini prizes and I prefer straight 1 unit wagers...you open the door to mythical bankrolls you'll have people bankrupt in a day or up ridiculous amounts for simply stringing together a couple lucky days...

I'm in regardless of what the structure is but let's at least put it in perspective

1st place hypothetical of $3,750 off a $500 buy in for a $3,250 net on a year contest? $270/month winnings?....just seems incredibly low for something that take so much time. For that buy in I would imagine that same person had an average bet of around that or at least that amount in a single day.

I like the idea of this contest. There are quite a few of us that do this all year around.

For me personally there is no difference between a late west coast baseball game on a

tuesday night in July and say for example super bowl sunday in February. A contest like

this would be really cool I think with the whole year aspect.

Year long has to include all the major sports. NHL is a must.

This is why I think we have to eliminate the the sub-group prizes for each sport and apply it all towards top prizes.

It has to be high enough payoffs for the top 3 to make it worth everyone's time.

Remember this is a total-capper contest for all combined, not a single sport contest, so I see no reason to award winners in each category unless maybe just $500 which basically guarantees their entry fee back...

fuck it....cross everything I said....let's make this fucker winner take all then.... 30 @ $500 MEANS WINNER $15,000! That is pretty good for a calendar year's worth!

The only thing I think is necessary is to have stale daily lines. I don't care how we do it but I don't want my Brewers ML getting +124 which is what I really get while 5 other guys have pinnacle or some random out paying +142
