The staff doesn't just check IDs for the sake of doing so, they research who these audience members are before deciding where to put them. You really believe the father of a mass murderer could slip by several layers of background checks? If you do, you're lying to yourself. But that's something dims are very good at.
Anyway, it's also good to know that "we simply didn't know" is a valid excuse that completely exonerates people from any wrongdoing. I'll file that one away for future use.
