And, how many of these OOC games are on the road?

It is never discussed that Bama and Ohio State and the rest of the big boys have 8 home games every year, while the teams that they are compared to have only 6 or 7 (or maybe 5). If this was the NFL, people would scream bloody murder.

I don't feel like going back and looking it up right now but Florida hasn't played a single ooc road game north of like north carolina or west of like Alabama or some shit like that since literally the 1960's. They literally never go up north or out west ever. They will occasionally schedule a neutral site game against a big boy, like they play Michigan in Dallas in 2017, but never a true road game thats not in the southeast.
Meanwhile Michigan for example, has home and homes lined up with the likes of Utah, washington, ucla, texas, oklahoma, Virgina tech, and Arkansas all within the next 12 years

Before you knock the Gator's schedule they play FSU as their last game of the season EVERY year.

Lol the SEC sucks this year because of QB play...their defensive numbers are great because they don't play against offenses.

look at Allen, Kelly and Dak...they are throwing up numbers on most "SEC" defenses.... UF has a legit defense. Then Missouri. Then Alabama.

If missouri and and uf had offenses they would be dangerous, maybe they will take a note from Bama, UGA and Ole miss and get a back up out the ACC to compete in the conference :ohno:

Are you knocking a winning strategy the way staying put makes life easier than traveling to big games
or scheduling an OOC home-home series 2 or 3 time zones away like most of the rest of the P5 teams?
When the Gators lack of travel costs them a playoff berth, then changing things will make sense to them.
Unfortunately they will pay for it before they see it.

you know why it's not discussed? because it's not true

Alabama hasn't played an 8-game home schedule since 2006, the year before Saban arrived. So why would people discuss them playing 8 home games when it hasn't happened in a decade? :ohno:

Exactly, there is no reason for them to schedule say a game AT Michigan or AT USC so why would they. Doesn't make it right though. It's the same as this crap where the sec is scheduling D2 teams the second last week of the season right before their big rivalry games. No one calls them out on it so why not do it. I'm not going to knock bama's or Georgia's schedule as they do tend to schedule good ooc games usually, but scheduling charlston southern the week before Auburn is a joke. Florida with FAU, Georgia with Georiga southern, South Carolina with Citadel. ect ect.
And yes, Florida does play FSU most years but again, taking a few hour bus ride is a whole different ballgame then flying 2000 miles away in a entirely different environment, weather ect then what you play in every other week of the year.

Come on "Easy Money", an Old Timer Floridian like you should know that Florida plays FSU every year in one of College Footballs biggest rivalry games. This game dates back to 1958 (57 consecutive home & home meetings).

Thank God we still have these Rivalry Games to enjoy; College Football has become so commercialized ($$$$$$) today being dictated by TV and now the Play-Off rankings, scheduling will become an even more important consideration for the "heavy-weight" programs.

Oh I admitted they play FSU which i do commend, hell its better then what most of the SEC schedules ooc. I'm just saying I wish they would pony up and play a big boy away from home once and a while. almost every other big boy program does. Michigan goes to texas, oregon, Oklahoma, Arkansas ect. and up until this year they also played Notre Dame almost every year on top of that. Just leave the southeast once a decade is all I'm saying.

most teams travel and play outside their area for receuiting reasons. Florida doesn't need too or want too. They can get 98% of their athletes from florida and Georgia.

Great point Razor.......The recruiting fields in the State of Florida are very lucrative...Florida, FSU & Miami are able to fill-up their rosters with top recruits and play winning football (most of the time).

USC and Texas both have traveled outside of their region and I'm pretty sure both of those states have just as much high school talent as Florida does. Lets just stop making excuses and go play an away game at USC, Michigan, Texas etc. I'm not even saying every year but atlas once every so often, Just for the good of the game. But again, I get they aren't going to because why would they. They don't get penalized for not doing it. It's flat out sad that they haven't left SEC country for a true away game in 50 years. literally.
