You chime in to arguments that aren't even directed at you. Acebb called me all sorts of names and started an argument about the meaning of sold like a retard, all because I said the Clippers will be sold within two weeks. I tried to explain to him that there are multiple usages of sold and one of those being an informal usage when two parties agree on a sale price. That's all I said and I was attacked for it by a crazy person. So I'm rubbing it in his face, it has nothing to do with you guys.

Fair enough. My apologies.

Damn I missed it. Didn't see what got deleted.

Anyway regardless of if this goes through or not. I told y'all it would go over for 1.5B atleast and possibly 2. So I will be claiming victory for that, where is my prize?

Yeah TMZ cameras were outside his house and they heard hm yelling "SHE CANT DO THIS" or somethin I guess.

Crazy!! The most recent ESPN report says they do not need his approval. That's weird. I wonder if he's just playing a game. There is no way that he sends an email to his wife and sits there watching her sell it when he really didn't want to.

I apologize also. I make very broad statements when I'm really talking to an individual or couple individuals. Thanks

I am sure you are good person, we all (myself particularly) get overly animated. I would wager that 90% of the people on here would be cordial in person. Anytime an argument ensues, we all get a bit aggressive.

Wholly shit this story gets crazier. Apparently Donald Sterling was found mentally incapacitated, which gave the Trust full permission to make the sale. I actually feel bad for the guy now. That is brutal.

No surprise there. Great calls all around on this Aki. EXCEPT if you don't think Sterling is a winner here. Controversy = Cash and all this BS inflated the price more than enough for Sterling to cover his Capital Gains nut, IMO. (<)<

To live in a society and culture where someone expressing incorrect opinions in a private conversation results in him being declared "mentally incapacitated" so he can have his assets stripped away is sickening beyond belief.

good people don't spend days and hundreds of posts calling multiple people racists
good people don't create an argument in their silly little minds that people are racists only after they take a position that the players should not be offended by what a silly ignorant man said in a private conversation
good people don't call scores of fellow posters stupid merely because they have a different opinion
good people don't create lies about being banned
good people don't get banned from multiple forums presumably because they're abrasive
good people simply don't act the way he does

it's not plausible that he's good people

and smart people comprehend the nuances of a conversation

I strongly suspect it's far more than him expressing his racism that got him declared mentally incompetent. I suspected since I saw the Anderson Cooper interview he has some form of Dementia/mental instability. If so, my heart goes out to him and his loved ones. It's a devastating disease for all those around him and explains the sudden mood swing and statements. http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports....etent-clears-way-for-sale-of-team-to-ballmer/

So let me understand this. Sterling is mentally incompetent so they can sell his team but he wasn't mentally incompetent when he made his racist comments? This thing stinks. Sterling is a scumbag but I don't like anything about this other than he just made a ton of money.

Who are these experts that ruled this? Did they sit down and examine him or something? This came out of left field.

I think it is a pretty telling indictment of America when our latest case of outrageous, unacceptable "racism" comes from an 80 year old mean who is mentally incompetent.

the NBA may have just lucked out, saved by the perfect storm

1) a billionaire with money to burn and a mad desire to acquire an NBA franchise (read new toy) offers at least twice the FMV for the Clippers. The Sterlings couldn't dream of a better resolution. The purchaser didn't make this as a business decision, he's been trying to acquire a franchise before without luck and he went all in to get this one.

2) Sterling declared incompetent, how on earth did this come about? Something about this just doesn't pass the smell test. Who? when? where? why? In any event, this takes Sterlings ability to contest the sale off the table, pretty damn convenient

3) Owners don't have to vote, which removes the possibility of them being sued. Think any one of them, if not all, made a racial comment in a private conversation? I doubt they wanted to defend that position in court

4) since Sterling is mentally incompetent, his beneficiaries or minority owners could have stepped in his shoes and easily argue the forced sale is not appropriate, but the $ 2 billion will practically guarantee that won't happen

5) Sterling gets to save face and exit gracefully with a cash windfall

Win, win, win for all involved, and a potentially ugly legal battle gets avoided. Now that's how real money gets things done.

I saw a sweet financial deal coming, but the mental incompetency ties up all the loose ends.
