Sawastea, any thoughts on Universal's Animal Pak? Have you ever used it? Thanks for helping out by the way.

I can't say anything bad about it, other than the high price tag. Universal is a well-respected company and they bring out solid products. As long as you can stomach the price, then go for it!

Is there anything similar out there that is less expensive? Do you think a regular multi-vitamin supplement is enough?

I lift 3-4 times a week and I take is Animal Pak and BSN True Mass.

I've heard that too much protein can be damaging to one's liver. Any truth to this?

YES. Too much protein, and I'm talking the people that drank 7 protein shakes a day plus steak and chicken etc... can put you in the hospital. 2-3x of protein grams than their body weight. My brother (M.D.) and mom (nurse) have both taken care of bodybuilders, teenage kids, or guys on strict diets in the hospital that had too much protein. I cant tell you what it effected or what the name of it is...but let's just say "protein overdose" is more common than you would think.

Always take 1 gram of protein/day to 1 pound of your body weight and you will be fine. There is no reason to take any more than that - it is all wasted or can even be detrimental to your health in very very large portions.

Sawastea, I am in good shape for a 36 year old, 5'11 and a half 215 lbs, broad shoulders.... have some bodyfat, but in the right clothes I look in excellent shape.

I do have gynoclydomastea, which is a constant battle, I have a big muscular chest so it blends. As soon as i get out of shape i will look horrible... I wont let myself

Any suggestions to battle this gyno bs?

I recently developed a soar left shoulder and suspect that it may have been caused by adding dumbbell flys to my routine. ( I say this only because I never had a problem before doing flys). Anyway, I read somewhere on the net that flys are dangerous and could cause shoulder/rotery cuff problems. I was curious as to what you guys thought. I wanted 3 good chest excercises to go along with my bench presses and bench barbell pullovers so I thought flys would be the 3rd. Now I don't know what to do.

Gyno is truly an issue any way you cut it. You can have surgery, but that's normally our of pocket expenses. Unfortunately, the only info I have is re-evaluating your diet/exercise plan, but I highly suggest you visit http://forum.bodybuilding.com as there could be more relevant info for you there. By simply searching gyno, you'll come up with a copious amount of threads.

Besides aspirin? I would look into cissus.

Otherwise, talk to your MD as arthritis is a tender issue.

Sawastea,

Thanks for your help.

I have been doing an EC stack for about two months. Does it make sense to cycle off of it for a while? It really help curb my appetite? Should I maybe switch to a Yohimbe/Caffeine stack for a month or so or go off everything?

Cycling is best when you're on EC. The most common cycles are:

5 days on, 2 days off
2 weeks on, 3 days off
3 weeks on, 1 week off
1 month on, 1 month off

HOWEVER, there is also anecdotal studies that state that you do NOT need to come off of EC. I prefer to cycle it, so yes, take some time off.

You could take YC if you want for two weeks and see how you react.

Sawastea,

Just wondering if you could recommend a good multi-vitamin? Thanks.

There are quite a few:

- Optimal Nutrition Opti-Men
- AST 32x
- Beverly Nutrition Multi
- NOW Adam
- GNC Mega-Man (only GNC product I can recommend)

There are more out there that are decent.

Look for them online as that is cheaper than the stores.

Thanks. Just ordered the Opti-men from ON. I use their whey protein, so I thought I would stick with them. Much appreciated.

Never knew this thread existed...

Anything you'd recommend for me as far as supplements and the like?

I'm 24, 6'0" and 190 pounds. Athletic. Normal weight is 175 pounds when I had a ridiculously low body fat percentage.

I have added some muscle on since then but still am not huge by any means. I want to lose some weight or at least convert it to muscle.

I've been doing good since I was at 220 not long ago and seem to easily balance between 185 and 190 without exercise. Is there anything I can take to speed the process along so I can drop another 10-15 pounds? I work out regularly and I can do it on my own, but if I could take anything to burn fat quicker it would help.

6' 190 is pretty lean, especially if you have muscle mass. Muscle mass is heavier than fat. As long as you're under 10% BF, you should be more than happy. Before taking anything, I would like to know your diet/nutrition plan. A small amendment in that would be what is needed to drop the extra 10lbs. Are you drinking a gallon+ of cold water daily? Are you eating 5-7 meals a day? Are you limiting your carb meals after 6 pm?
