Glad NOSOF didn't hit $2.50 a share on Tuesday when I put my stop loss order in :toast: 2 cents lower and my shares would of been gone:think2:
NOSOF just hit $3.50 come on $4.00. It sure is nice to look at my account plus $$$$ on the day in fact 2 days in a row.:party:It seems like a long long time since that has happened. I just may force myself into going to happy hour today.

lor, think of this as your manager of the yankees. You cant get too high on any win, or too down on any loss, because either way you put it, theres always another game. The point of the season, is to make the playoffs, and make that run for the championship. You know you can win them all, and you know you cant lose them all.

but you know have the pieces in place to make the run

Hey lor and Doug, this is a better week that we are having. Since I bought in Oct. everything mostly stayed the same or went down. This is so much better. I know it can always go down but, it is just nice to be on the up side for awhile. Also, my scare with NOSOF was just that. I did my homework on NOT but, not on having a different stock symbol and being here in the states being different. I am in this for the long haul now and I am going to do my best to not watch every day now. I will be gone on a vacation next week and won't have access to a computer for the whole week, I hope I can get thru it. Haha Well, good luck to us all and go NOT.....

Doug, Your statement was well said and a very good way to think about our investments. Some on Agora board think we'll have news next week and sometime in March will be the big lift off. Three days in a row my account is plus :money8: :aktion033. Have a good weekend everyone!

Here is an intersting post from Agora board. Sure hope he is right! Lovetowin have a great vacation.

First remember I’m a fiscal conservative, older guy who’s been around and once even was a banker. Still I’ve held Noront shares since the early days of Windfall.
Some forum members bought into Noront at prices over $6 and probably are upset and wondering how they could have made such a mistake. Well was it?
Windfall, 4.6 meters of ore grading 52 oz per tonne with value per cubic meter block of ore with value of around $45,000 which makes a tonne of ore from DE 1 hole 5 look like chump change. Noront are poking a ramp down and will extract at least some of this ore and turn it into cash. Say they take out 4 meter width of ore and only 50 meters in length = 200 cubic meters or $9 million dollars. Want to bet there isn’t more?
You know why they didn’t bother spending, at this time, to punch a lot more drill holes which were recommended. It’s because that drill cost is better spent on DE 1 and can be done later after they clean out the first rich deposit.
McFauld Lake, DE 1 and Hole 5 with 117 Meters of unheard of Nickel,Copper,Platinum Group and Rhodium. Numerous other rich holes as well as numerous targets and huge new claims registered.
Now feel better? It is not surprising in the least that Noront share price exploded. The sharp decline is due to short memory and terrible US meltdown that’s for now receded
But is Noront highly Speculative or is it an investment?
There little doubt Noront will not, within 9 months, be valued at less than $10 a share.
So what needs to happen before we see that value? First continued drilling at DE 1 to allow for inferred resource calculations. This will prove up, in my estimation, at least 7 million tones of rich ore body. Second get the bulk sample and cash in the bank from Windfall and continue to calculate resources there. Third find either extension to DE 1 or DE 2, 3 etc..
What’s the probability of the above three things happening within 9 months? Windfall is a slam dunk, DE 1 as well, DE 2 given proximity to DE 1 has to be better than 50% and deposits on huge property under JV and pending JV is almost certain to identify resources.
So what do your value these things at on a per share basis? Me, remember conservative eh! Windfall at $1.50 , DE 1 (after resource calculation) $6.00 and DE 2 plus JV’s at $3 per share to arrive at $10.50.
What’s a guy or girl to do, invest in shares at under $7 and hold for 9 months to get return of over $10? Now note I’ve put no value at all on Blue Sky. Blue Sky is hitting another 52 oz per tonne of gold or 114 meters similar to Hole 5 at DE 1 and Blue Sky is another $10 or $20 a share.

Here is more info from agora board.
I have been reading so many posts and trying to absorb an awful lot of information and think this post & the one above are excellent reads.. And why we will be rewarded for owning NOSOF or NOT. :toast:

Thanks lor for the kind words for my vacation. I hope I can make it thru the week without a computer. My goal is to maybe come back next Sunday and have NOSOF be up over $4.00 and not have totally gone back down to $2.50 as it was 2 weeks ago. I also have some shares of BMK and would like to see it hang tough also. Good luck to all us Longs in NOT/NOSOF.

I ask selkirk what he thought about the post from agora board (the one that said $10. a share in 9 months) this was his reply.

Lor if I was the company I would punch more holes "You know why they didn’t bother spending, at this time, to punch a lot more drill holes which were recommended. It’s because that drill cost is better spent on DE 1 and can be done later after they clean out the first rich deposit."

we are giving Noront a 400 million market cap, now when this first hit they talked about how easy it would be to mine this deposit.

however nothing is cheap or (that ) easy when it comes to mining. metals and energy (materials) are at high levels, skilled labour can almost name their price. I had a neighbour who was a mine manager, decided to leave a become a Alberta Rancher (his wife was going to teach) and it was his home.

He made a great deal of money but the problems in any mining operation can be numerous. I have a good friend who is a miner, most of the time any project come in over budget.

by the time you reach the stage to mine the project wonder what the costs would be?

He believes Noront will be able to mine these holes and generate cash enough to pay for exploration.... that is very very rare. most jr. have to raise more cash....

If I were them would drill more holes, to prove if it is a project close to voisey bay or a pencil....a few holes of high mineralization.

how much cash do they have and how long will it last.

at current prices it is a speculation, however most jr. are...... Voisey Bay was the same, it was the potential.

now at $10 a share and a market cap of over 1.18 billion they will need a large mine, and a profitable one at that.; it might not be bad to drill some what they believe are rich holes and to try drive the price up before financing.

finally is a sr. company ready to step in and help develop the property and cover the costs.... not many (very, very few) jr. have the skills, and resources to bring a deposit into a mine.

the poster made some good points, however they will have to drill more holes and enlarge the resource. also there are costs to get this out...which was not covered in great detail.

he is following closely....it is a spec though, not a bad one, however a spec.

thanks
selkirk

So lor, is he saying this is a good stock to be in now or just a maybe? I know it is a spec. stock but, did he tell you what his gut feeling was? I know we are all pretty much in this for the long haul now but, it would be nice if some of the smart folks in the know would start to say one way or the other if this is a good play or not. Just hoping yes for now. Bye till next Sunday.

Lovetowin I would say he thinks it could go either way but nosof is the best play in jr. mining do to the fact they 1.He believes Noront will be able to mine these holes and generate cash enough to pay for exploration.... that is very very rare. most jr. have to raise more cash.... 2. at current prices it is a speculation, however most jr. are...... Voisey Bay was the same, it was the potential. 3. they will have to drill more holes and enlarge the resource which they are with June & Johnny.

Side note I hope your not taking your Love in to town. Ha HA
Enjoy your vacation and don't worry about nosof we will be fine!

TORONTO, ONTARIO -(Jan. 28, 2008) - Noront Resources Ltd. ("Noront") (TSX VENTURE: NOT) is pleased to announce the receipt of assays on hole NOT-07-27 and 29 on its 100%-owned Eagle One occurrence within Noront's Double Eagle Project in the McFauld's Lake Area of northeastern Ontario. "The results from hole 27 are the highest grade encountered to date. This hole is quite significant as it contains high gold values within the massive sulphide zone not seen in earlier holes, and it extends the high grade massive sulphide zone to depth on this section. Results include thirty-five meters of massive sulphide averaging 7.91% nickel, 3.45% copper, 1.66 grams per tonne platinum and 12.79 grams per tonne palladium, along with 3.87 grams per tonne gold and 9.27 grams per tonne silver. Our immediate drill objectives are to complete infill drilling as required for resource estimate calculations and to begin drill testing several high-priority geophysical targets within the Double Eagle project area" states Richard Nemis, President and CEO of Noront.

HIGHLIGHTS

- NOT-07-27 intersected mineralization between 112.8 meters and 159 meters that over 46.6 meters averaged 6.25% nickel, 2.75% copper, 1.85 g/t platinum, 10.23 g/t palladium, 3.0 g/t gold and 10.3 g/t silver. This well mineralized zone contained a 35.6 meter wide massive sulphide mineralized section between 116.8 meters and 152.4 meters that graded 7.91% Ni, 3.45% Cu, 1.66 g/t Pt, 12.79 g/t Pd, 3.87/t Au and 9.27 g/t Ag.

- NOT-07-29 intersected mineralization between 18.3 meters and 84.2 meters that over 65.9 meters averaged 1.48% nickel, 1.1% copper, 1.18 g/t platinum, 2.94 g/t palladium, 0.12 g/t gold and 3.3 g/t silver.

- Two new drills have arrived at the project and have commenced drilling. There are now three drills on the project completing infill drilling and testing other geophysical targets.

- Airborne survey continues around the "Ring of Fire".

Due to the irregular shape of the Eagle One Magmatic Massive Sulphide body, the drill intersections presented above are not true width. True width determinations will be referred to once the resource estimate is completed. Drill collar locations for holes NOT-07-27 and 29 have been presented in earlier press releases (see press releases dated December 21, 2007 and December 13, 2007).

Drilling Update (new holes completed)

Hole NOT-07-28 was drilled at local grid collar location 51+74E at 10+69N with a dip of 51 degrees along an azimuth of 270 degrees, being the same location as hole NOT-07-26 that was earlier abandoned. After 14.8 meters of overburden and limestone this hole entered granodiorite until 128.1 meters when olivine gabbro was encountered until 140.1 meters. Between 140.1 and 169 meters, peridotite was encountered, followed by mineralized peridotite to 175 meters. Net textured mineralized peridotite was then encountered and the hole remained in this rock unit until 217 meters. A thin zone of massive sulphide mineralization was encountered between 217 meters and 218.5, followed by net-textured mineralized peridotite to 223.2 meters. Mineralization was then encountered between 223.2 and 242.2 meters for a total mineralized length of 73.2 meters, followed by granodiorite to the end of hole at 253 meters.

Hole NOT-08-30 has started, positioned at local grid collar location 50+80E at 11+46N with an initial azimuth of 090 degrees, and an initial dip of -45 degrees. This hole is designed to test the Eagle One occurrence on the same section as hole NOT-07-24 and NOT-07-28. The hole entered limestone at 9 meters, then into a granodiorite regolith until 12.5 meters. Massive sulphide and net-textured mineralized sulphides mixed with semi-massive sulphides were then intersected to 20.6 meters. A narrow felsic dike was encountered between 20.6 and 21.7 meters, followed by net textured mineralization until 99 meters for a total mineralized length of 86.5 meters. The hole encountered peridotite/gabbro until 114 meters after which granodiorite was encountered.

Assay results are pending for holes NOT-07-20 through to 26 as well as hole 28. Due to the presence of rhodium in selected samples, additional sampling is underway on all earlier holes to determine the presence of rhodium in this Platinum Group Element enriched massive sulphide occurrence.

Start Up of 2008 Winter Operations

Field crews have now returned to the project area. The line cutting crew and geophysical crews along with the geological team arrived in early January. The first drill crew arrived during the first week of January to complete hole 28 started prior to the Christmas break. Aeroquest returned to the area during the second week of January and has commenced the continuation of the airborne program around the remainder of the "Ring of Fire". Two new drills have also arrived at the project site, contracted from Forage Orbit Garant of Val D'Or Quebec. Both of these rigs are now on site and have commenced drilling. Photos of these two new drill rigs can be found by following the link: http://www.norontresources.com/projects/double-eagle/index.html.

Ground geophysical surveys are now underway to define several anomalies detected in recently completed Aeroquest airborne surveys. The exploratory drill program will initially focus on these anomalies with one drill dedicated to testing anomalies, the other two drills will continue drilling holes at Eagle One as needed for a compliant resource estimate. Drill pattern is set at 37.5 meter pierce point spacing, felt by management as sufficient for resource definition for this type of mineral occurrence.

On Site Quality Assurance / Quality Control Measures

The aforementioned assay and sample information, as well as geological descriptions are taken from drill logs as prepared by the Project geologist for the drill program, Mike Kilbourne. Billiken Management Services Inc. is providing all services on site for the Noront Double Eagle Project, from their base camp at McFaulds Lake. Billiken is a holder of Certificate of Authorization issued by the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario.

All assay work and sampling procedures have been included in earlier news releases. Chain of Custody includes delivery to ALS Chemex Laboratory in Vancouver BC, where all samples undergo analysis using ALS Chemex assay procedure AA46 for nickel, copper and silver, and ICP24 for Au, Pt, and Pd. When samples received over-limit values they underwent further analysis using ALS Chemex assay procedure ICP27 (for gold, platinum and palladium), as well as GRA21 for gold. The reader is referred to: www.alschemex.com for details of these analytical procedures.

Independent Quality Assurance and Quality Control Protocol

Gold, platinum and palladium are assayed using fire assay on a 50 gram nominal sample weight with an ICP-AES finish. Nickel and copper are assayed using aqua regia (3-acid) digestion with either ICP-AES or AAS finish. A comprehensive QA/QC program has been implemented to monitor all assays on the Double Eagle Project. Samples are assembled in numbered batches of 77 samples, which equates to the number of client samples per furnace batch at ALS Chemex. Included in each batch of 77 samples are 4 certified reference material samples, 3 blank samples comprised of sterile drill core, and 4 field duplicate samples. This QC program was set up for Noront by Tracy Armstrong P.Geo, of P&E Mining Consultants Inc. ("P&E") of Brampton, Ontario. Ms. Armstrong is a qualified geologist in the Provinces of Ontario and Quebec. Assay results are being monitored on an on-going, real time basis for accuracy, contamination and precision by P&E. The current sample set will be reviewed by Ms. Armstrong once some additional batches are completed, and will be reported upon in a timely manner.

This info was posted on agora board.

NOT calculated total value per tonne of their holes in their new presentation. They used metal prices as of Jan.18, 2008 (should generally use last 3 or 5 year average metal prices). However sticking with this method, calculated value per tonne for Hole 27 for the 46.6 m intersect is $2,262.00/tonne which compares to hole 5 of $1,514.00 per tonne (over 117.4 m vertically).
Hole 27 is near holes 5&7. The average value per tonne of these two holes were $1,445.00.00 per tonne. If we average in now hole 27 the arithmetic average is now $1717.7 per tonne an increase of about 20% in this section of the orebody. This is good. The hole may not have added much tonnage but it did improve grade. True grade increase would require using a weighted average.
For pure comparison purposes the higher grade section of Hole 27 returned a estimated value of $2820.00 / tonne over 35.0 m. Using a gold price average of the last several years of $550.00 per ounce, this intercept would be equivalent to insitu value of 5.3 ounces/t gold over 115.0 feet.
Remember when you don't have grade you NEED tonnage but when you have grades like DE, tonnage is optional!!!!!!

this was great news today for not longs...just a step in the right direction of where we want to be. Soon enough, days when we go up .70 will feel like nothing, when the PP is double digits

Nemis is a guy that I would want my money on. I feel like we're running in a maiden special weight race, and we got a first time runner that has great breedings, and bullet works, and we arent getting any respect on the board. But you know what happens in the end?

We win by 20 lengths and go off 1/9 next race
