Cruz would be bad for repubs. He's too wacky to win general but wacky enough for repub primary voters. Things could change once the moderate repubs weigh in.....right now it's all fringe and that's why you see fringe candidates doing well so far.

Based on current climate and likely opponent, it doesn't matter who wins the nomination for the Republican party. They are all crushing Hillary in the polls and whoever it is will crush her next November. What you fail to properly realize is that Hillary is an extremely disliked fringe, whack-job candidate herself.

Two moderate republicans couldn't beat a shameless communist. GOP gets squashed with moderates. An uninspiring stiff like Jeb Bush would be perfect for Hillary.

The far right candidate will get clobbered against Hillary. Don't make the same mistake you guys made in 2012 where I had to teach everyone a lesson on polling.

You are looking at Fox News polls and they are always wrong by a mile. Look at an electoral map and figure out what states will turn red that were blue in 2012. Cruz or Trump cannot turn Ohio or Florida red....and if they lose those....they lose the election. Rubio is their only hope to flip these states....if he isn't the top of the ticket.....they will lose again.

Dems will come out for Hillary in the general.....that is s no doubter. Again, don't make the same mistakes you guys did here in 2012

Dems hate Hillary. They ran her out on a rail in 2008 and the only thing keeping her up this time is that she loaded up her coffers and all of her challengers are broke.

A truly awful, aging candidate with little to no energy to campaign. She reminds me of when the GOP elites "rallied" around Bob Dole. She doesn't have a prayer in the General Election. And there's a recent non-Fox poll showing Trump up 9 on Hillary in Florida. The idea that she's going to inspire voters like Obama did in 2008 is sheer lunacy. She had that nomination on a silver platter and fell on her fucking face.

Actually you are completely wrong. Recent poll showed 83 percent of dems view her favorably. When the election comes around the dems will do a better job of getting their voters to the polls. It's almost like you guys never learn anything from year to year. The betting markets are usually ahead of the game in this stuff and Hillary is still a solid favorite.....to say she doesn't have a prayer is completely inaccurate and borders on lunacy.

Plus you will see what happens when repubs settle on their slop of a candidate.

The betting markets had Ted Cruz +4000 at one point.
The betting markets had Hillary as similar favorite in 2008.

You are talking out of your ass as usual. Comparing Hillary's political skills to Obama's is moronic. A better comparison would be Kerry and Gore. Two uninspiring stiffs who couldn't beat a Texas bumpkin when circumstances were ripe for it. The political environment will overwhelmingly favor the GOP in 2016 after 8 years of this mess we just had, much like it overwhelmingly favored the Dems in 2008.

Wait.....I thought the political climate was all for repubs in 2012? Didn't repubs crush it in mid terms in 2010 and that was a backlash on Obama ? You nitwits said he would suffer the same fate that congressional dems did in 2010. It didn't happen because you idiots have no clue who votes and why. I do and that's why I was right in 2012 and I will be right again.

But I'm sure you will be back here in 2020 with the same mindless drivel.

Romney was a horrible candidate and Obama is a good politician.

Wait, why am I arguing in circles with a retard? I got a basketball game to go to, I'm out.

Only one of us has been right about presidential elections......and it ain't you kid.

You fit in perfect with the other clueless righties here.....see in you in 2020....maybe you will learn by then but I doubt it. If 2012 didn't fix you mental cases.....doubt 2016 will.

Have fun at basketball .....hopefully one gets you in the head, maybe a light bulb will finally go off up there.

Donald Trump's apparent belief that the Republican primary contest is now a two-person race between himself and Ted Cruz isn't exactly shared at the top of Hillary Clinton's campaign.

Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta handicapped the GOP race for 90 Democratic donors assembled at a private fundraising event in Berkeley, California, on Thursday night, according to a Clinton backer who was in the room, telling the crowd that he viewed Cruz as the likeliest nominee, followed by Trump, and then Marco Rubio.

Some of us figured this out months ago, John.

My money still says Trump gets the Repub nomination. Iowa doesn't mean much anymore.

And Trump gives the Repubs a much better shot in the General. I like Cruz but he is too far right for the general populace. Would be tough to win with him.

When Trump loses Iowa, the sheath comes off the "Winner". He MUST win Iowa in my opinion.

Cruz is smart. He's not a stubborn mule. He'll triangulate to win the General and make mincemeat of Hillary in the debates.

The public doesn't even know what "far right" or far left is.

Look who is occupying the White Hut right now.

Ideology only matters to political junkies.

It's obvious that Sekrah is a ghost of Joe. I know Joe is here almost all day but the thread is written and 8 minutes later joe comes in and says "nice write up" without offering much insight like he is one to do. After some banter by others he doesn't re enter thread for a couple months but Sekrah is still in the thread, if Joe wasn't Sekrah he would have been chiming in way before with the Joe handle.

just to say at the start I'm not aligned with the Republican or the Democratic Party and this has nothing to do with the Republican Party or the Democratic Party

I have been taking a financial position on the different Republican candidates over the last few months and have watched Trump very closely. I decided to take a position on Rubio when he was at 6-1 put 300 on him. I also put $50 on Cruz at 12-1 and 50 on Sanders at 15 - 1 and I even put 50 on Busch at 10-1 even though I know he's dead on the water .

Trump has always been the leader n all these poles and I just kept wondering should I get some of Trump and every time I just thought there is no way that this country is going to make this guy president I just wasn't going to believe we could be that stupid. I really thought it was just going to be a matter of time before he put his foot in his mouth and sure enough that's what he's done with that dumb comment about Muslims. he's pretty much finished now and two days ago I heard on the news that Ted Cruz is now ahead of him in Iowa by 10% I immediately bet 500 on Ted Cruz laying a dollar fifty to win the Iowa caucus. at Bookmaker

I just can't believe that anybody would really wantg let him be president he just has too many things that too many people don't like and are rubbed the wrong way by both in his party and in every party. and truthfully could you ever trust a guy with his temper to have his hand on the nuclear trigger with the nuclear codes just imagine if Putin ever made a joke about his hair, we would be in a nuclear war the next day
you just cant have a crackpot like him with his temper running a country with nuclear weapons at his disposal .we'd be at war in less than a year.
I'm glad he made that idiotic statement about Muslims a month ago. that's really turned off a lot of people to him and realized he's a little cuckoo

I am NOT a trump hater at all but really anybody that thinks he could really be a good president is just going on emotion and likes his boldness and the outspokenness of him, especially, with the temperature of the country being the way it is and the reasons why its like this.

And seriously I really believe he could have us all dead and in a huge war whitin a year, because he is arrogant, and a know it all, and has a temper
there's no governor on his mouth and what he wants to say to people and the way he says it to them, especially when he gets his feelings hurt or his feathers ruffled.
and that's not good, especially if you're going to be the President of the United States
