AA...You won't need to worry about a backdoor from Chase Daniel and his Booger Pickers....They be done for the night.

Holy cow, Texas is looking razor sharp tonight. I had the Horns figured to win and cover, but I would not in my most optimistic moments have guessed the first half would look like that.

Texas has matured a lot faster than pretty much anyone guessed.

pretenders just like kansas.
They lost to an Iowa St team who in return got blown out by a horrible Nebraska team. Big 12 might as well throw Texas and Ok. State in the title game next week.

I think Colt McCoy just won himself a Heisman Trophy. I'd say at this point in the season he more than deserves it.

He's got to be the big favorite at the moment, but there's a lot of season left and a tough schedule ahead.

AR, if you can't see how far ahead of expectations Texas is in terms of maturity as a team, you're not paying attention.

Did you end up playing UW GS?
Na..I decided to lay off of the play. Tyrone is pretty much a lame duck coach..And at this point in the season I think the players know it. It's probably better to lay off of this team altogether for here on out.

How 'bout those horns??????? Let's have discussions?????

I look forward seeing the Horns come to Lawrence in November. Hopefully they will still be undefeated at the time.

I thought Kansas acquitted themselves well on offense. Scoring 31 points (with only 7 being of the garbage variety) was alright. The KU defense just does not have the horses to go toe to toe with the OU offense. Imagine if Reesing had the kind of support Bradford or McCoy have.

There are two tiers of good teams in the Big 12. Texas and OU.....and then the foursome of Kansas, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, and Missouri. Lucky for KU and MU all either of them have to do is to take care of business within the division to get the Kansas City. OSU and Tech have to climb over the other two teams to get to the title game.

jblonghorn...I don't know what to tell you...Go back in my threads this summer that me and SoonerBS and a few others discussed before the football season even started..We both said that Texas was the most underrated team in the country and would surprise many people. Read one of my blogs called BCS Championship talk about the teams most likely to go to the BCS Championship Game this year.. I said Texas was one of three teams most likely to go because they've made the changes and improvemnts necessary to be a threat to win the national championship..I don't think there are any discussions necessary. This wasn't a revelation to me.

GS....I ended up not having egg on my face, as I just got lucky w/ my picks. You are an amazing capper....it's just that as I stated earlier...I thought your personal feelings might've interfered (sp?) w/ your picks this week in regards to OU and TX. I'll tell you this....TX will not underestimate anyone this season. If you're looking to make money, jump on TX now. I'd bet TX is -14 next week vs OSU, and that would still be underrating an amazing Texas team. This is their year. Muschamp is the reason this is all happening, and it's worth every penny. I'll also tell you this...Muschamp will be going nowhere, as he'll be the next coach at TX. God bless.

I can't tell you how much I cringe every time I see someone with "longhorn" in their name posting like that. It's embarrassing as hell. The guy's not a sports bettor, only a cheerleader.

What's worse is that he's a bandwagon-jumper, having predicted a blowout loss to Oklahoma only a couple of weeks ago. But nobody's louder and more obnoxious than the guy who came to the party late.

Like GS stated, we were touting the Longhorns in preseason as a very underrated team. We were right. It was easy betting on Texas whenever they were still "proving " to the nation that they were better than what they were given credit for, but whenever they beat Oklahoma, they had proved it. I bet Mizzou last week, too, because it was a classic letdown situation for Texas and a rebound situation for Mizzou. It turned out to be the wrong bet. But, here's the difference in a "fan" and a gambler -- gambler's are looking for edges and angles to bet while fans bet their favorites and have a hard time understanding why others don't follow suit.

It will be increasingly difficult for me to bet Texas again until they get beat and it has nothing to do with them beating Oklahoma. The fact is their schedule is nearly impossible and they WILL have a game eventually where they will not execute nearly as flawlessly as they have these last two games. The law of averages say that they will lose soon. I refuse to blindly put money on them knowing that this is the case and I think GS is the same way.
