Huey Lewis and the News. Their early work was a little too new wave for my tastes, but when Sports came out in '83, I think they really came into their own, commercial and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has a far much more bitter, cynical sense of humour.

But thats just me.

Huey Lewis had no influence on me and I am a bay area guy.

That and he had no other albums to speak of.

Again thats just me and loved the Sports album but a little to comercial.

Those were some of the best times of my life in High School. Only thing on my mind was chasing girls, hanging with buddies and trying to score beer underage

I almost thought about saying Red Hot Chili Peppers, bloodsugarsexmagic changed my outlook on life it had that much impact on me. Their stuff just doesnt have the same replay value that some other groups do, well at least to me. But I think I went through an entire summer where that was pretty much the only thing in my tape deck.
