Sorry to break some news to you little boy, but NOT ONE REPUBLICAN president would ever get rid of abortion even if he could. It is too big of a campaign sell for all the wacko christians to vote for them. This coming from someone that would ultimately love to see abortion done away with. I'd love for the time to come when all children are wanted and could be taken care of properly. The sad fact is that if you did away with abortion at this time the only ones effected would be the poor. The rich would do what they had to do and go where they need to go to get their little princess an abortion.

If a pregnant woman doesn't want to be a mother, I'd much sooner help pay for her abortion than be on the hook feeding, clothing and providing medical care for the little scudder over the next 20 years.

Regardless, only about 5% of all abortions use taxpayer money. So all we need to do is start paying women to get tubal ligations instead and that number will go down.

Or stop letting all the Christian wackos shove their morals down our throats. No sex education what so ever. They would rather deny the real world then deal with it. Less educated children leads to children having babies. I was lucky enough to be fairly educated and as it turns out I was 29 when I had my first baby. Keep the god nuts out of our schools and things should get better.

Sorry REP, but while I'll be the first to stand up against fundamentalist Christian wackyism having undue influence on our public school systems, I'm not too persuaded that most 15-16 year olds don't understand how babies are made.

What needs to be promoted is an increase in birth control and also an increased understanding that for a pregnant teenager, having an abortion is far, far smarter than carrying the fetus to term and having a baby.

Some of the misleading info yes, does come from religious fundies who teach the obscene lie that somehow God will punish you if you have an abortion. But that's fairly easily overcome if one has trusted relationships with teenagers.

Just don't lie to teenagers and you're way ahead of the game in most cases.

I understand what you are saying. By the time you are 16 you know about sex. But birthcontrol is part of what I was talking about. Christians are the leaders in keeping birthcontrol out of our schools. Hell they are even against the education about birthcontrol.

An embryo needs a qualified medical professional to go in and provide some assistance in the expulsion.
