I wish it was the standard for books to show win/loss for each month. Then we could see who the idiots are when everyone else is winning.
GA only had to manage 3 line for a couple hours a day. How do you lose doing that? Either that or everyone cashed out after their bonus was up so what shoulda been a winning mo was a loser.

If you are looking at a book and thinking i hope I can get out quick after my rollover becasue this book offers nothing else you can figure thats what others are thinking.

And it's not like they had weak lines. They had the worst lines I have ever seen. There was NO value whatsoever there. All their lines there were numbers right off the screen. And baseball was horrible.. 20 cent lines always. How the f uck did they lose 150+ dimes.

Can someone please explain to me how?? I'd really love to know. QUOTE]

IMHO, it is the result of a high bonus shop that primarily advertises on forums where the average bettor is either sharper or knows how to manipulate bonuses... often both.

I'm sorry for singling you out, but I know you have a sportsbook, and equating advertising campaigns to liquidity is ludicrous.

What if a book started with millions and lost it due to bad management...how does that have anything to do with their advertising?

Do you have an RX campaign, and if so what percentage of your campaign is your "bankroll"?

yah, I bet you will answer this too lol

GA use to advertise at our site also for a while....

------------------------------------------------

"now start adding office space, employees, finacial processing fees, marketing costs, etc."

office space = one room w/ 2 computers

Employees = 2 ppl (Fred & Neyree)

Financial processing = ?

Marketing cost = posting (priceless)

After reading this thread, I am now starting to think about the other books now and how in the world they will survive.

Here is a book like GA who advertised all over the net. Had the highest bonuses ever seen.. And only wrote 19k a day? Is that all the customers they were able to obtain? Makes you wonder about the other books that are not as popular as GA was here. I can name you now 25 books that are smaller than GA. Even if GA did make 4.5% and didn't lose, that is ONLY 850 bucks a day they would net, which still wouldn't be enough to cover all costs and advertising, licencse and so on. How can a book survive offshore with such a small handle?

Does anyone know how much their start up capital was?

There really is no way of telling I guess.
But I imagine it had to be pretty good considering they didn't have many winning months

I guess what's said is right on the $ then these places really don't bring in the amount of players for the amount paid to be advertisers

Didn't they also advertise at Gambling911, or is he (Silver) just a partner there?

I am very glad you posted this Shrink. Maybe Sting can explain some of those press releases on his site he made regarding the huge winning weekends Gambler's Avenue had recently

Shrink You ask around BEFORE you put up a store with virtually no bankroll.

It's not that easy baby...

Wish it were...

Sick,
I know a whole bunch of people who play online who I communicate with both online and in real life. Out of about the 10-20 I speak with regularly none of them had money at GA when they went under. Now some of these players have at least 5-6 outs at all times. Most of these guys have heard about GA many times and knew all about their "great bonuses."

Their advertising was in the wrong places. If they want lots of players from the forums they better offer some value of players will either pass them by or just pick off some bonus money.

This place wasn't that big on the forums. It just appeared that way because Fred kept them in the spotlight. Whereas a book like Bowmans almost never gets mentioned here yet probably has 100x GAs handle easily.

Nobody I know trusted this book enough to keep money there and I know a few other books in the same boat. Some of which advertise here. without getting into names, just look at which books seem to have the most "misunderstandings"
