Clearly out of bounds.

A lot of wonky shit this week.
I didn't have either team in that game but I don't know how they confirmed that as a TD. With today's technology its inexcusable. It could have cost a team a win and a playoff spot.

I think some games are fixed, but not very many, and for various reasons, “Vegas” does not always call the shots, maybe sometimes.

It is a myth that the NFL is for entertainment and therefore can fix every game lawfully.

If you think that some of these games were fixed late in the game this weekend to wipe out some teasers—-wow—-you need help.

The New England Patriots were not the only ones to take a brutal loss in Las Vegas on Sunday.

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the miracle final play that gave the Las Vegas Raiders the most unlikely of victories was also a crushing blow to the city’s sportsbooks.

With the game tied 24-24, the Patriots tried multiple laterals on the final play in an effort to avoid overtime. Instead, a long lateral by the Patriots’ Jakobi Meyers found its way into the hands of the Raiders’ Chandler Jones near midfield.

Jones bolted for the end zone after applying a stiff arm to Patriots quarterback Mac Jones, handing the Raiders a gift 30-24 victory to kick off Christmas week.

The play allowed the Raiders to cover the 2 1/2-point betting spread. According to the report, the most improbable of touchdowns created a “seven-figure swing” in the favor of bettors.

“It killed us. It was terrible. We needed the Patriots pretty big,” South Point sportsbook director Chris Andrews told the Review-Journal. “I really believe that’s the dumbest play I’ve ever seen.”

The report also indicated the play was responsible for gift wrapping $300,000 to one bettor on a straight bet with the Raiders -1.

It isn't scripted like the players are in on it
Can refs skew games? Absolutely
Though I highly doubt they fix a particular game as it would be too hard to guarantee that game without it looking like a fix or someone noticing money be lopsided to a very weird way
You could pay off a ref to skew all his games in your favor giving you an edge without a guarantee fix on aparticular game I suppose giving you an edge in all the games he plays
Not sure how worth it that is
Of course we are talking NFL not college gamesSo, imo are some games fixed? Rarely if ever. Skewed? Possibly but even that imo is very rare

I do not think every game is fixed, just like the NBA refs do not do it every game.

There are games that are coerced, teams helped or hurt by officials calls.
Last night was one of them. NFL wants Giants in playoffs, plain and simple.
Just because officials are helping a team does not mean they win.

I am more of the belief that they want certain teams in for media market, story line, small market
to keep fans interested, some gambling. They are now in bed with the books, they100% have to keep
their partners happy and in the black by a good margin.

Yes, there are lots of calls that are just the official is bad or made a bad call. I also agree on that.
Just like NBA does not have the best officials, the NFL does not either.
Why do you think there are now legacy officials? Have to keep it in the family, nice and tight knit

Yes! The NFL is an entertainment entity, that is what their charter is for. If you say that does not mean anything, well, I would have to disagree. Look at the other pro sports leagues, their charters say sports, not entertainment.

Some of these in game coaching decisions are truly over the top ridiculous! High school coaches know how to manage games better or are the NFL coaches doing it on purpose?
I find it hard to believe that a coach being paid millions at the top pro league has no clue or does not learn how to manage a game.

Yes, analytics rules some of the coaches and that is no defense in their decision making. Because the game is not played in a vacuum. Those charts are nice and have a use but not for every decision black and white. Statistical analysis is black and white, the games are not. Far to many variable to make decisions off a chart every time. That is folly and unintelligent

Games always have been rigged to a certain extent....Jordan was the best in the day but many more...These owners are billionaires and Vegas a moneymaker, no telling what goes on....Aren't people finding out more and more everyday everything is rigged, just follow the money and works in sportsbetting actually....Before you make that bet, follow the money and you'll find yourself on a dog more likely than not.....Don't know if totally rigged but know it's not totally straight ither....I've never complained about rigged games though because I try and play on the side of the rig and been pretty fortunate actually but slowed down a tad...Just my opinion from a player since 74 and have seen it all...Bottom line though, much isn't rigged this day and time though....Merry Christmas from Knock!!!

Pretty much applies to damn near everything that goes on in the world

If you follow the money you will usually find the answer.

I would have went for 2 also---at this point ur just trying to scoring as many points as possible as you aren't winning the game.

But even so...u miss u still need a td and fg. Now you just need another 2 point attempt.

Once again. Just hilarious with amateur/losing bettors.

Bets are perhaps the SMALLEST of reasons why one might want to fix/influence the results of games.......

Also intelectually dishonest to try an minimalize the wagering to "your $500 bets" .....millions upon millions are at risk in these games.....

Yes. Let's throw the integrity of the game away in something that would involve many many people and let's hope they all keep their mouths shut.

As if professional sports aren't already printing money.

Yes makes sense.

If you want rigged sports go look at table tennis back during the covid days.

I loved watching my guy blow a 9-2 lead in last set(first to 11) over and over again. It was especially fun when the scoring would go dark and all of a sudden its 9-8 or 9-10....haha
