Wilson was hard to watch today at times

About mccarthy....I would put him at or near the bottom at game managing all year. Today, I thought he was fine and played it well. This game was a players loss for sure. If you ask for your team to recover an onsides kick to win, as a 9pt road dog against defending champs...all coaches take that deal

Wrong, this loss was all on him. His offense was moving easily in the 1st H. However with a MVP potential QB, he tries to take the air out the ball & play not to lose instead of to win. If he does, the game does not come down to an onside kick.

His idiocy showed in the 1st H by kicking chip shot FG's when even 1 TD on any of those 4th & inches situations changes the entire game much less if he got both of them.

That game might have been the poorest game management I have ever seen in a football game from start to finish.

If anyone can think of any football game more poorely managed then that one I would sure like to know.

I thought Belichick was the best coach in NFL hIstory before yesterday but after yesterday now I know that he is without a doubt the best ever from A To Z

Some coaches are strong in some areas and weak in others.

McCarthy is a very good coach in most areas. Keeps a team together, great offensive mind. Etc.. But is a terrible game manager.

I can't think of a single weakness for Belichick. Not one.

Great coach, great leader, great strategist, Great game manager, great talent evaluator.

Hes got it all. Simply the best.

Im not 100% sure who the best QB, RB, or Linebacker is of all time but I am 100% certain who the best coach is that's ever walked the sideline of an NFL game and 2nd best really ain't that close .

On the other hand if you go for the TD's and don't make it, it gives all of the momentum back to Seattle. And that is the last thing you want for the home team is the crowd to get back in it. I definitely don't question him for kicking the first FG. The second FG was kind of a borderline decision. But his defense was playing great at the time. So I can understand his thinking. Plus it worked out for the best in the 1st half anyway when that monentum carried them to a 16-0 lead. But a 4th down stop could have completely changed that score..

If you don't kick the fg, you don't get the fumble on the kickoff on the next play either..

Choptalk saying McCarthy should have gone for the endzone against the #1 defense in football, on the road, in the 1st Quarter.

Surreal.

Though not at all surprising.

Explaining his decisions, McCarthy said, ''Frankly, I would have liked to have gone for it there on fourth down, but based on what we saw, on second and third down, I just felt that you had to take points. I didn't think a lot of points would win this game . . . I felt great about our defense all week, just the way they've been building here in the last eight, nine weeks. So, that's why we had to take the field goals."

Entirely rational and reasonable.

If a player very few people had heard of did not try and handle the onside kick, this all would be irrelevant.

If there is anyone who knows less about football than choptalk, I'm not clear on who it is.
