You taking notes Mike Mccarthy? Oh wait your season is over so no reason to.

How can that game be blamed on Mccarthy. Generally, I'm not a fan of his but he put that team in great position to win. Did you ever watch gbay on goal to goal short yardage the last few years? It isn't good. That game was blown on onside kick, 2 man rush on 3rd and 20...inexuseable prayer on 2 point conversion...nothing to do with mccarthy

Not going on 4th and inches inside the 5 is bad...Not going on 4th and inches at GL is awful for the most part

Nobody said nothing happened after that but its bad coaching

I'm not so sure man. It was the 1Q, you're playing in a very hostile spot and a 3-0 lead gets you going. They had been stuffed three straight on the GL before that. #1 rush D in the NFL. You can't let momentum swing like that. I would've kicked.

Disagree completely. Mccarthy knows his goal line offense is piss poor...putting points up there is right play imo

You gotta think it is pretty low probability to convert based on the two teams playing to think it is the right move to kick.

You're talking 2/3rd chance at 7pts, 1/3rd chance Sea ball at the 1yard line

Not like they hadn't run the ball effectively.

Mike McCarthy is a worse game manager then Andy Reid.

I remember one time Green Bay had a game that went into ot.

They were the first team to possess the ball in OT and it was the first possession of OT.

Green bay got the ball all the way down inside the other teams 1 yl.

A TD would have ended the game right there.

Instead they kicked a FG.

Even if GB would not have got the TD there all they would have had to do was stop the other team 3 and out inside the 1. Then once they get the ball back the next time they could end the game with a FG .

Incredibly dumb move.

In OT on first possession if you have 4&g inside the 1 you go for it 100 times out of 100 times.

You could probably do the probabilities and say anything under 4 yards go for it in that case.

I have seen McCarthy make these dumb moves over and over again.

He also did that kind of shit when he was the Saints OC.

Wilson was hard to watch today at times

About mccarthy....I would put him at or near the bottom at game managing all year. Today, I thought he was fine and played it well. This game was a players loss for sure. If you ask for your team to recover an onsides kick to win, as a 9pt road dog against defending champs...all coaches take that deal

I thought that too. Amazing how being a bad team player has rewarded him

Jonas Gray hitting the snooze button and showing up late left the door cracked for Mr. Blount. I thought I had a tough boss, Belichick is one quirky but effective coach

Even after Seattle scored with 2:09 to go making it 19-14 the live play at 5D had Seattle at +700 to win. The onside kick after the TD was the playoff the game.

Interesting year for the onside kick. The mathematical probability for success on the onside kick is low. I had a college bowl game this year where I rightfully calculated that for me to lose an excellent in-game bet the opposing team would need a flurry of scores wrapped around two successive onside kicks. And it happened. I had never seen that. Oddly enough, I believe it happened again a few days later.
