Fournette may be the best I've ever seen.

Sitting out would be bullshit. If you are that worried take out insurance on yourself.

Next thing you know you goofballs will be suggesting NFL players sitting out the last 8 games of the year if their team starts 2-6 in the last year of their rookie contracts. I mean why risk it, just for the 500k in lost salary for the year when you stand to sign for $40 million plus in two months barring injury.

You get insurance to mitigate taking risk. Why would you take any risk at all? For what? For who?

I've never checked, but I would imagine there are CBA provisions that prevent guys from sitting out the 2nd half of the season and breaching contract.

Why would you play for free if you didn't have to?

Because you are a member of a team. That's why. You can't quit on a team no matter what is on the line for you. That isn't football. If you want to be all about yourself, go play tennis.

Wanting to take care of you and your family is being all about yourself?

I can't think of anyone else that is elite at their profession who works for free.

Everything else is rah-rah BS that fans tell themselves. It is a business first and foremost. He isn't running into 350 pound dudes on copious amounts of GH for fun.

Someone like that needs to look at themselves as a commodity or stock. Right now on 10/10 you are worth 8 million and there is no further upside to be attained.

Do you lock up the 8 million or do you risk it?

Everyone can make their own decision and maybe he just loves football so much that he can't possibly be away from the game for a year, if that outweighs the risk for the individual then play on. But otherwise it is nonsensical.

When you play football, you play for the team. PERIOD.

I could see sitting out next year, but there is no way in hell you can quit the team this year. That would be the ultimate in selfish acts.

He was clearly the product of the system. Nebraska running backs of that time all got the yards. He ran behind maybe the greatest college offensive line in history. I think all 5 played in the NFL including a couple 1st round picks.

I have a boatload on Fournette to win the Heisman at +170. As far as I'm concerned, it's a bet only on if he stays healthy or not. If he does, that trophy is locked up. Forget about it.

I wish Christian McCaffery would win but he won't. Guy only has like 10 touchdowns all year. TD's matter when it comes to the Heisman. Guy is only a sophomore.

Former LSU star Leonard Fournette is among the NFL Draft’s top running back prospects.

NFL Network’s Mike Mayock has Fournette ranked as the No. 2 running back in the draft. NFL.com’s Bucky Brooks has Fournette ranked No. 1.
Both see Fournette as a power runner in the NFL.
“Fournette is a rugged runner with an old-school game that makes him an ideal workhorse in a power-based system,’’ Brooks wrote.
Said Mayock, “If you draft Fournette, you better give him 25 touches a game."
So where does Fournette land?
Some mock drafts have him going to Carolina with the eighth pick. One team that could certainly use him is the Washington Redskins.
The Redskins are looking to upgrade after using rookie Rob Kelley and Chris Thompson last season.
But the Redskins pick 17th overall and the question would be will Fournette last that long in the draft?

great game for the rookie today,

Rookie Leonard Fournette ran for 181 yards and two touchdowns for the Jaguars, who are over .500 after five games for the first time since 2010 and have already matched their victory total from 2016.
