" Totti is rated extremely doubtful for the Azzurri's opener against Ghana."
- Doctor Enrico Castellacci

The chance of Totti playing with Ghana is 99%.

Concorde,

My wife and I are heading to Europe during world cup (not going to Germany), giong to Barcelona, Nice and Italy. We are still deciding where in Italy, mainly between Italian Riviera (Portofino area) and Lake Como, we leave out of Milan. Any thoughts, suggestions or recommendations?

Azzuri Update:

As of this evening,Marcello Lippi has decided to go with Alessandro Del Piero instead of Francesco Totti.

After watching Del Piero in this week's practice,Lippi clearly feels that the Juve star will be the better bet.

Del Piero will be operating in the hole behind strikers Luca Toni and Alberto Gilardino.

" Totti is difficult to replace but we have won without him before, and in all of our most recent matches." - Lippi

SAL, don't look at these "official" news, there are official news and "insiders" news, Totti will play 100%, NO DOUBT. :103631605

fhm, every choice that you will make is ok. It is difficult to give you an opinion because depends about what someone likes more, i can tell you the Lake but then you may not love it.

Basically if you want to relax and/or nature the Lake and Valtellina is the choice, instead if you want "adrenaline" the best choice is the riviera romagnola ( Rimini, Riccione ) or Ibiza. The riviera is only 3 hours from Milan.

You may also go in Portofino and then in Toscana that is not too far away.

Sardegna is the place with the best sea and where the majority of VIPS goes ( like Bobo Vieri ).

Hope this helps.

Great, thanks. We haven't been to any of them so it will all be new and likely great to us. I think we are leaning toward Lake Como at this time. Will be in Italy for the Italy/Czech game and the round of 16, assuming they get through.

Azzurri tune up vs Sestese and San Gimignano earlier today

Totti played the entire 70 minutes of today's 10-0 win over local team Sestese. He scored the final goal with one of his trademark chips over the 'keeper.

" Totti did well, but these are not the games in which we can evaluate his condition. That is down to the two tests
we will play in Switzerland next week." - Coach Lippi

Milan's Alberto Gilardino scored 5 of the Azzuri's 10 goals.Vincenzo Iaquinta scored twice, Mauro Camoranesi and Marco Materazzi each netted 1 .

The squad was split into 2 groups.

The second matchup vs San Gimignano, the result ended up 10-0 as well.Luca Toni scored 4 times,Pippo Inzaghi 3,Alessandro Del Piero 2, and Simone Perrota ended up with 1.

Unfortunately, defenders Gianluca Zambrotta and Alessandro Nesta left the 2nd game due to muscle injuries. Juve's defender hurt his left thigh and will undergo tests tomorrow.Nesta'a injury is said to be less serious.

The team will return to their training complex in Coverciano on Monday, following local elections.

The Azzurri face Switzerland in Geneva on Wednesday, followed by a friendly vs the Ukraine in Lausanne on Friday.

Update on Zambrotta's thigh injury

_41700604_zambrotta203.jpg

He will not be making the trip to Switzerland this week; therefore missing the 2 friendlies on Wednesday and Friday.

It's still unknown if he'll suit up for the Opener vs Ghana.
