My wife buys our mats that go outside of our door. I have no idea what it looks like and if it were switched out, I'd have no clue. Honestly.
maybe you need to pay attention a little more

I don't give a shit what the mat outside my front door looks like. I pay attention to the more important things in life.
that’s on you homeboy , but not paying attention to the little things can get you killed or cause you to do something stupid that can ruin or take someone else’s life ..... just ask amber guyger

If you say so. I don't go through life wondering if I'm going to die because I don't know what the carpet looks like.

I think what you're say is "You don't eat what I eat so I interpret that as meaning you fail to pay attention to your diet."

In Shub's world, a guy that doesn't eat salad doesn't pay attention to his diet haha.

Let me break the news to you. People kill people all the time and don't get life behind bars.
Life may have been harsh on my part, but I disagree with you that its some sort of norm to walk into a persons home and kill them with a gun and only get 10 years.
That isn't the norm...

You're believing her 100%, when in reality you don't know what she was thinking that night, neither do I.

Well the known facts, as Far as I know...

Off duty but uniformed young female cop coming off of a very long shift, she enters what she thinks is her apartment, which would certainly be locked, especially if she has no husband/ roommate, lesbian lover ,etc. Sharing the living quarters, it would generally be a locked door in an apartment building

So Amber enters the wrong apartment, without having to use a key...that alone strongly suggests she doesn't live alone, if she did the door would be locked

Forget the color of the doormat

Trigger happy , decent looking young female cop kills this guy with no justification

She gets 10 years for it, real light, I could see 25

As a cop in prison, she won't be in the general population, some special section of the prison

She could be out in 5 years at about age 36, and have a decent second half of her life

She got off very easy here, imo

Well yeah, but don’t make it sound like she walked in to this apartment with intent to kill a man that evening. We don’t know if that’s true.

I wonder how many intruders break in and sit on someone’s couch, eat their food, and watch their TV

I am not saying she was right to shoot him just showing Doug was wrong in his logic
BTW. ......happens all the time. Not all intrudrrs and take off in a few minutes And I don't believe she said she investigated and knew he was no threat just eating and hanging out but decided to shoot anyway. That wasn't her logic. BTW she deserved time.....I'm just saying

Everybody has done something stupid before. This is past that line of stupidity.

Incredible demonstration of forgiveness by the victims family.

I am certain she was brainwashed by the Dallas PD, which led to her being paranoid and leading to this incident.

Just take away all of their guns and none of this shit will happen.

Sick world we live in where cops can walk into someone’s home shoot them dead and get 10 years. If a citizen did that after a long day of work, walked in on an off duty cop and shot the cop with a legal firearm....dude would get life.

They are paranoid based on their perception of the public that their own institution teaches them. Only people responsible for this is the cop and whoever trained her. They need to take more accountability and stop giving the public bullshit excuses. “Oh she was tired.” “Oh she was delirious.” “Oh why was the door open?” Stop that shit. PROTECT AND SERVE. If THAT is in your mindset, then there is no issue here. FACTS

If the police actually practiced what their oath entails, then they would be thinking protect and serve the public.

Think rationally. Who the fuck is going to break into a cops home? Lmfao. You aren’t Thomas Partey dumb bitch. You aren’t some superstar athlete with shit to steal. Dumb bitch. Only thing she’s stealing is our tax money and innocent people’s lives. 10 years is a joke because no citizen would ever get that petty of a sentence for murdering someone after entering their home because they thought it was their home. Fuck outta here

I believe she got 10 years, rather than probation, caz she is a white Police officer. The sentence was to harsh IMO!
