Packers were11vs Denver
Okay. Thought it opened at 14.

But that Denver team was loaded as they obviously went on to win the super bowl the following season too...

Favre to Free to open the game with an easy TD. But nothing came easy after that....

Favre opened the SB against the Pats with a bomb to bad Moon Rison as well but he really didn’t do a ton in the game after that. That SB is mostly known for Parcells kicking the ball to Desmond Howard and him winning MVP.

but Favre to rison set the house on fire, there’s a pun in there

Rison was a scrub at that point and i don't want no scrubs.

Packers ran the ball really well in the 1st half with Levins.. Holmgren for whatever reason , abandoned the run in the 2nd half..

Giants beat the undefeated Pats may be the only SB winning Cinderella
And they had a pash rush
Lead the league in sacks
They could get to the QB qith 4 guys leaving 7 in the back
Thats how you beat great QBs
Pack are not that
24th in sacks
Don’t think there is a set formula for upsets but it is an interesting pattern.

Though logically you’re gonna be a better football team if you have a great pass rush and/or QB. If you have both you’re probably not in an upset position to start with

Problem with the Packers is they match up horribly with 49ers, Cowboys, and a healthy Eagles team. All three will be able to run the ball and dictate the terms of the game, unless Green Bay gets some turnover luck

Rodgers, again, is also not an elite QB anymore.

Cowboys kicked the packers ass this year. I don't think Packers have any chance to beat cowboys. I just don't see it.

Yep. Mike didn't love the run. Dorsey was pretty under-rated in his time.

I honestly remember nothing about that game other than 1. Thinking Gilbert brown was going to die on the field if Broncos kept running the ball like that and 2. Elways run at the end when he got spun like a helicopter which is 1 of the most iconic plays in nfl history

It does speak to how Favre was basically on par with MJ for GB to be -14, Denver was the best team in the afc 2 straight years at the time and had a icon qb of their own but for that ‘95-98 period Favre seemed like he was changing the game.

I was shocked by the line at the time
Packers only had 1 more win

Broncos lost division to those Shotty coached team that went 13-3 I believe and lost their first game to Broncos

Guess they figured another Elway loser SB Bronco team
That was the Terrell Davis game
Ran for over 150 yards

You look at Favre's and Elways numbers back then and against QBs of today and those guys would be considered trash.

Amazing how the rule changes have changed passing numbers. Why all-time records in football are kind of a joke.

Then of course the guys before Favre and Elway had an even harder time.

Favre had his greatest sats year at 40 just because of the rule changes. He was obviously much better in the 90s.

The line was also based on the NFC ALWAYS winning the SB. Don't forget it was around 14-15 years in a row. Many of those were complete beat downs by the NFC team.

Broncos had the hype train the year before as team to end the afc curse after 11-12 years of w/e it was and they blew it vs an expansion team probably played a role. Obviously perception played a bigger role in lines making back then.

edit: and yeah what crude says, the nfc was almost considered a different league by the time 97 rolled around. Like the SEC vs the big10

i wouldn’t really put favre and Elway statistically in the same conversation. Elway and Aikman are a better example. Guys like Josh Allen and Mahomes modeled their games from Favres dumbass.

Favre and Elway were great and both would be great today.

Personally Josh Allen actually reminds me a lot of young Favre. Crazy talented as both a runner and a thrower and believes his arm can throw balls through defenders.

Just different game. Stats are so inflated now. Hell it was an accomplishment to throw for 3000 yards in a season then.

Remember that beating the refs allowed the Saints to put on him in that NFC Title game when he was with the Vikings. Just brutal.

How many just blatant roughing the passer penalties did the refs allow in that game? had to be at lest 4.

Hits to the head hits to the knees. Guys going both high and low simultaneously when the ball was long out of his hands.

Still would have won that game if AP didn't have that horrible fumbling season. Then of course Favre being Favre right at the end.

Watching Favre just take it and continue to limp out there was one of the most heroic things i have seen in sports...

Wouldn't be allowed today and probably shouldn't.

I just wished he had let longwell take his shot at winning it for him.

Sounds like Deebo will be good to go

Mitchell less dependable but I’m not sure they need him
Who has prettier eyes Burrow or Deebo?

What happen to Vit? Would be ashame if a stranger came by and broke his credit card fraud typing hand.
