Iceman:
Great thread, great posts. Would you mind emailing me privately? I have a quick question that I'd like to ask you -- about something you posted in a way that you obviously were not comfortable discussing openly in the forum.
Jackharfiner@yahoo.com. I promise it's very quick.
My two cents concerning your comment about Matchbook: You can beat Matchbook to some line movements (I do), but typically on NBA, and in the 6:00 - 11:00 pm EST session (as opposed to the 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. EST session [the two time periods where I see most steam]), and not usually on cbb. This is very consistent with your statements about how cbb can be dominated by steam/syndicate plays.....i.e., those precipitating the steam are at the exchanges eating up the good lines as part of their initial wagers. Might be worth it for you to go back and try them again. When you beat them, you beat them good, because you're getting -103 or something like that (because the spread/vig is so small there). Even when you're late, and the line has moved 9 cents against you already, sometimes you still end up with a steaming number, laying only -111 or so (because it started at -102/-102 for both sides).
