Adding for 6/8

- Argentina PK -380 5.7 to win 1.5

Just don't see any way the US can beat them. Not a very good team and not playing well now.

I think the Italians get it done today. While Cannavaro is a big loss for the Italians I believe they have sufficient cover and should be fine in defense. He didn't have a great year with Real, though Materazzi is poor himself. Having said that, the offensive injuries to the Dutch are huge, not having Van Persie, Robben and Babel is massive IMO. This also isn't the catenaccio Italians of old as they play a much more attacking and offensive game than the Italians of old. Combine that with a relatively poor Dutch defense and I see the game something like 2-0 or 2-1 Italy.

That crazy dickhead Donadoni is playing Ambrosini instead of De Rossi.

I know, I saw that. Horrendous. DeRossi, Perrotta, Aquilani, any of them should be there long before Ambrosini. Christ.

Dutch looked pretty damn impressive offensively and Van der Sar was amazing. Finally had a good entertaining game to watch in this tournament.

I think the Spanish come out blazing tomorrow and absolutely thrash Russia. Russia is without Arshavin and just lost their best striker. From what I have read Spain will be playing both Villa and Torres instead of a 5 man midfield. Unfortunately this means no place for Fabregas, but fortunately it also means no place for Xabi Alonso. MF will have two attack minded players in Iniesta and David Silva with Xavi and Marcos Senna. Xavi had a great season with Barca and scored many key goals for them when pushing up into attack. Guus Hiddink works wonders but I don't see it happening with a decimated Russia against a Spanish team with this much talent.

Spain needs to start strong, so hopefully no surprises. Exceptional photography angle in your latest avatar, by the way. I am ready to watch both games of todays action. I need to confirm to myself - with respect to the Italy/Netherlands match, if there was a clear cut absence of leadership on the pitch today. Absence of Aquilani / De Rossi certainly had an effect in the dressing room (Mutuny on the bounty as they say). Prob, after I watch the games, I will vent about the Italians / French. Gattuso / Ambrosini combo is, I'm sorry, not what the Italian populos was expecting. If the Rossi / Aquilani were from AC M, they would be starting. Italians liekly to go out, but they will take the french to the grave as well....

Thanks, I couldn't pass up that picture. There is another of him with a huge grin carrying the glass just before he sat down to "drink" it.View attachment 5274

I was watching on ESPN360, I wouldn't say there was a lack of leadership, I think they just got outplayed. Dutch came out quickly and really attacked from the start. Agree with you about Ambrosini and Gattuso. Ambrosini is just rubbish from the get go, no business being on the pitch and little being on the squad. I know Gattuso had a poor year (the entire Milan midfield did) and I think DeRossi is the better player, but I can somewhat accept him starting even if I disagree with it. No question the Roma midfield should have started and I will be shocked if they don't start next game. Italians looked old and slow in comparison, couldn't keep or get possession. If they are out, I certainly hope they drag the French with them, going -3 off the bat is tough, but they can beat both the French and Romanians with appropriate lineup adjustments. French and ROmanians put on an embarrassing display of football today, just a horrendous and dour game. Domenech is the worst.

6/10 results: Perfect day as the board is essentially swept. Played out pretty much exactly as I expected it. Spain looked great, way too much offensive talent when they play well. All of the advance/not advance plays played out perfectly as well with the advance plays getting 3 points and the not to advance getting 0.

- Wasn't at all impressed with the Czechs in game one, got pretty much what I expected out of them, an old and injured team. Portuguese don't attack as much as the probably should and Nuno Gomes is entirely unimpressive up front, but they are very solid defensively and should be able to pump in a goal or two to take care of a Czech team that is a shadow of its former self.

Thanks. I realize laying the wood on PK and +.5 line isn't for everyone but with as many draws as often occur, I don't mind. Nothing worse than betting a team, having them outshoot their opponent 23-2 and lose in a 0-0 or 1-1 on a flukey goal.

Numbers are correct though, you are going backwards, it is Euro 2008 - 2008 Friendlies = Total, which is 28-3=25.

Sorry for the late post.

Was really disappointed in Croatia's first game while Germany looked fantastic, solid defensively (which I still think is their weakness), crisp passing and could easily have put up a couple more goals. Same attacking lineup is back for Germany and I expect the same attacking, offensive minded football from them. With the 3 attackers on, they score and often in bunches. Croatia's defense, especially in MF, looked pretty miserable against a woeful Austria and they looked toothless in attack. I see it Germany 2-0, maybe more.
