Speaking of the 4th and 26 game.

What i remember even more than 4th and 26 is 4th and inches at around philly's 40 yard line. This is what the Packers had to win the game.

Favre ran and came up less than a yard short of the 1st down to basically seal it. But "old school" way of thinking was to punt instead of going for it and winning the game. There is 0 chance a team punts in that situation now. Huge huge mistake to punt there---had also been running over philly all day.
I remember that now that you bring it up. Levins went off there also or was that another back ? Lost fuckn sleep over that game, ice bowl 2 against the Giants same thing. Was holding a 30/1 NFC bet . Did take the pts, but still was a crushing loss.

Ahman Green was the back in that game.

Cincy LT Williams, dislocated kneecap, is ??? for this weekend, that would be 3 OL out from their original so so OL. With Buffalo reeling I was looking at Cincy +5, with the two right side OL subs playing, but 3 makes it very difficult to justify.

As I mentioned in another thread I'd be cautious if Cincinnati was playing a better front 7. The Bills don't have the front to make it a huge concern. It does have a impact though with the Bengals getting the ball deep down the field. Instead of having 3-4 seconds Burrow has 2-3. I'm ok with that this week.

I think Bengals receivers also will be able to get separation pretty quickly against Bills secondary.

Pretty big mismatch. Will help the OL problem at least a little bit

Value on Bengals at 5 IMO

Think you're looking at 27-24 kind of game either way.

Total is pretty spot on, assuming not miserable weather

It's possible Alex Cappa (Bengals best offensive lineman) is going to play

Williams as well depending on severity of dislocated knee cap. Had same injury this year and played through it

Having those two on offensive line for Bengals would be HUGE

Kinda random but just reading some Ravens fans comments in Reddit, etc. (their meltdown over this game, Harbaugh, Lamar, Roman from their dumb fan perspective are fucking awesome to read :) )

The notion that the fumble return was automatically some "lucky 14-point swing" is hilarious. Ravens are an atrocious red zone team, especially without Lamar. Like all time anemic level. And they're going against a great red zone defense in Cincinnati. The assumption that they were going to punch the ball into the end zone on that possessesion is pretty hilarious.

Nothing lucky about that play either. Long return is obviously rare, but there are wild plays in football all the time. Football is weird and highly volatile

Even if Ravens do score there, obviously Bengals still have fair shot to win the game. They would have been a lot more open/liberal in their play calling, which is usually when they're most dynamic anyway.

If either Capps or Williams starts, I’m probably on Cincy.

Both, for sure I am.

Something is askew w Buffalo, allowing 31 to Miami. And it is still in my mind how Cincy looked early in the Buffalo / Hamlin game.

But Cincy was fortunate to beat Balty and yes it was a 14 pt freak point swing.

Hope you‘re right about Bills Front Line. I‘d like to see more of Peeee-Rine?

If cappa and williams can play that will be hugh, as Burrow really did not have a lot of time and was not able to throw downfield. That was a crazy amount of Luck on the fumble on 1 yd line.If I recall a TD was overturned to make it first and goal. That was absolutely the worst scenario that coud happen to the Ravens in that situation.Maybe Bengals still win, but just such a hugh turn of events. If Burrow has protection he should be able to move the chains against the Bills,If those key O lineman are out it will be much tougher to pick up yards on the ground also. The spread probably will not move if those guys play or not, but in my mind if they play I will take a shot with Cincy +5 without them, I think I will play the Bills, the Bills should play a lot better than they did against miami, think they were not as focused as needed, because playing a 3rd string QB.Allen needs to tighten up his decision making out there, taking way to many risks to often.

Allen barely ran against the Dolphins, so saving himself for when it counts. It seems the team wasn't focused and took them too lightly after jumping out to that 17-0 lead.

If the Bills start clicking on all cylinders they will win this one comfortably. That's why the line opened at 3 and shot up to 5 quickly.

I expect the Bills to advance to the AFC Championship.

They rested a couple. I think you're onto something about the use of Allen. He catches some criticism while he's a one man wrecking crew responsible for their stellar 5 plus yards per carry. But because he is, their games often come down to the last possession. Miami had one legit drive maybe and posted a qb rating under 45. They're ready. Featherweight Cook couldn't run out the clock so the switched to mot much bigger Singletary, and in the end as usual it was on Allen.

As much credit as they give the GM in Buffalo, he sure hasn't put a legit 3 down guy in the backfield to help his qb. He's had years. ..... Those Bengal injuries are a real concern.

Yep Bills need more consistency in back field

Also, the play calling. Their offense seems more efficient with a balanced attack. Singletary isn't great, but does a decent job chewing up yards when called upon.

I guess Beane just didn't want to expend valuable draft capital and cap space for a McCaffrey or Barkley.

I feel Allen has another gear we haven't seen, which is why critics call his play inconsistent. But he can't play like a bull in a China shop game in and game out or he won't last long in this league.

Like KC who have been squeeking out wins against bottom feeders lately, I feel the Bills have another gear we haven't seen. Injuries play a part, but nothing like staring down JoeyB to get Allen focused and his Big Game juices flowing.

Bengals offensive line probably wouldn’t return to relatively healthy until next week it sounds like

Both offensive lines questionable
