Memphis -2.5

-UAB was pegged by many to finally make that transition to an elite team status...however, things that plagued them over the last few years preventing them from getting there has been the same things that has been hurting them again this year...This team, is a veteran team led by a solid QB in Hackney leading the way and thus people felt they should end winning the Conf Usa Title....Well, like in the past years, they again failed to find that "Consistancy" with their play overall...including a few new added negatives thrown in...and now find themselves hanging on by a thread..

Memphis, on the other hand, has had alot of success over the years...but this season was suppose to be a down year for them as they lost alot of players from their highly potent offense, including QB Winprine and 4 of the 5 from the OL...not to mention that no one knew how RB Williams would be after he suffered a broken leg in last seasons bowl game...But, it seems that we all have simply underestimated this Memphis team, and especially RB Williams as well...But no more...

Williams, unlike those other RB's who garnered national attention for their rushing yard last year or in years previous, is one of them who has continued on without a seemingly drop in production..although those around him are less experienceds, and does not complement his play either...How good is Williams...Well, he is currently ranks No. 1 in the nation in rushing through seven games, averaging 187.0 yards per game...He is also currently averaging just over 20 yards a game more than Washington St's Harrison who holds the No. 2 spot...And, Williams also ranks 2nd in all-purpose yards...eventhough he is the only player listed in the top 5, who has not had any kick returns to add to his all-purpose yardage...In addition, Williams who was ranked 10th in NCAA history in career rushing yards, when Memphis played EC...passed Archie Griffin (5,177, 1972-75, Ohio State), Herschel Walker (5,259 yards, 1980-82, Georgia) and LaDainian Tomlinson (5,263 yards, 1997-2000, TCU) on the NCAA's all-time rushing list, after his 226 yards rushing output....Now that is impressive stats, as well, as very impressive players he passed as well...And, that can only be done through "Consistancy"...but continuing to do this without missing a beat, and doing especially with way less help and talent around him this year, compared to those he had around him in previous year...simpy says how Bad Ass this guy really is.....Some people say he is Emmitt Smith, Barry Sanders, LT, and Walter Payton....all mix in one...but possessing more speed....I say, it is easy to see why that is..

Uab has the passing game...Memphis has the running game...I take the Tigers at Home with RB Williams, who will use this game on National TV to impress the NFL teams which will surely be tuning in....Uab, does have QB Hackney...but we have already witnessed that he is unlike Williams, in that he cannot carry his team...as there is simply to much inconsistancy around him, to consistantly take advantage of his solid play...Good players usually make others around him better, however this Uab team, who has good players around him are not becoming better or at least are not performing up to the level which they have the ability to perform up to...Something is definately a miss at Uab and their losing 3 straight games, 2 of them to teams they should of beaten easily says alot...Memphis, meanwhile, has beaten several teams which, they based on their personal should of struggled and eventually lost to, yet they didnt....ie, Utep a team with alot of balance and solid players on both sides of the line....and at Houston, who was at the time Conf Usa 2nd rated passing team...

Uab basically wont be able to stop Williams...Why?...Because they couldnt stop anyone else and the Tigers with Williams is the best in the nation.. .so another 200+ game for the Tigers is not far fetched at all...Still, lets just say that the Blazers do stop Williams at times...they still could find themselves with bad field position and facing a rested Tiger defense, all due to Williams running giving them the time needed to rest and recover....One added plus for the Tigers offense, even though they are starting their 4th QB in Avery...who btw was their 2nd leading WR before taking over at QB...is that he brings to this offense another threat at running the ball.....Two weeks ago, besides throwing for 112 yards and 2 TDs...he also ran the ball 19 times for 105 yards and a TD...And in their last game vs ECU, he went 10-of-14 passing for 117 yards and rushed for 49 yards on 16 carries...Avery's ability to make plays with his legs give the Tigers a second runner, which now changes the opponents thinking of how they will try to stop Memphis's running game and Not just Williams....No longer can teams just simply stack the line to stop Willaims as doing this will open up things for the athletic Avery....

While most seen it as a negative for the Tigers to be on their 4th QB, I see it as a plus, as the three previous didnt do jack shit anyways...At least with Avery in the backfield Memphis has another option, and can utilize more shotgun and misdirection plays...Plus, once Williams gets things rolling...Avery, will be able to use his ability as an accurate passer.. putting it up enough times to take advantage of the defense forgetting that he can pass also....This is where I see Memphis being very dangerous...and all of this is mainly because of Williams, but also because of. what Avery has brougt to the table as well.

One thing that should also be noted is that although Memphis doesnt have the passing game as it did last season..and that they are using a WR at QB, due to injuries...even in the absence of a passing attack, the Tigers have still been able to average a solid 29.2 ppg and average a total of 407.3 ypg depite it...Unreal!...What is the mindboggling stat though...is that despite not possessing a real passing threat, which left all 11 of the Tigers opponents solely focused on Williams...he still was able to rush for over 1,300 yards, average almost 7 ypr, continued to carry it at least 30 times a game, and still put up at least 200 yards 4 times this year....Uab's defense, per the stats, maybe ranked on top of the conf in run defense..but if you look closer at who they played..you'll see that they didnt face a running game as potent as that of Memphis...Plus, this Blazer defense did let Jacksonville Gamecocks RB to rush for over 100 yards...Jacksonville!....And this year, the weakness on this Uab defense is in their LB'ing corp where they had to replace their trio of solid LB'ers in Zac Woodfin, Nigel Eldridge and Gaylon Black...These guys were the backbone of their defense for several years as all were muli-year starters...and trying to replace a trio that combined for 228 tackles last season is showing cant be done...And a reason why Uab has not been able to stop opponents on late game drives when they really needed to do so to get a win or maintain the late lead....Memphis running game with Williams has already proven to be able to control the LOS late in the game as they have comeback with two last minute 80 yard drives to take the lead and win the games..

On the defensive end...yes Memphis is again not to good in stopping the pass...but check these stats this defense gave up but yet the Tigers still won in the end....Ie, The Tigers allowed 280 yards per game with 11 touchdowns and eight interceptions...and in the past 4 games, the Tigers have given up 431 yards to UTEP's Jordan Palmer, 290 yards to UCF's Stephen Moffett, 386 yards to Houston's Kevin Kolb and 297 yards to East Carolina's James Pinkney...but, the Tigers still went 3-1 vs these teams...

Plus, with Hackney being the main key to stopping this high flying offense of the Blazers, which lacks a ground game and who could be without starting RB Burk as well, it will be the job of the Tigers blitzers to do that...I expect fully that DC Dunn will have them blitzing all night long in hopes of keeping Hackney from getting in a grove or forcing him to run...something that has been proven that the Blazers are not going to win games off of....Last week, SMiss showed Memphis where the holes to attack are as they recorded 7 sacks on Hackney...and furthermore proving that the Blazers cannot simply live off of the arm of Hackney was the fact that he put up over 400 yards through the air on SMiss and still lost....Does this team remind you of a Pro team who won the NFC title last year...and who also is trying to do it again on the arm of their QB...but who just got smoked on the road by a team is one of the best Ground Em and Pound Em teams in the NFL....Hmmmm, situations look so familiar...I think the outcome tonight will be as well..

Side Note: Also a big plus for the Memphis defense is that they have one of the nations top punters who is averaging 40 ypp this year and ranks 4th in the nation...while Uab's punter is one of the worst ranked 117th in the land averaging 26.59 yards....Wow, thats Bad!

Side Note: Problems for Uab is that the defense couldn't stop a last gasp drive this year, leading to losses to SMU and Marshall...as well as, stopped any comeback they had planned against SMiss...Darrell Hackney is putting up nice numbers, but he's not leading the offense to enough scoring drives....And, Penalties are a serious problem and seems like one to the only things which this Blazer team does on a consistant basis...Not Good!

Side Note: One negative things from last season for Uab, which has continued this season...is their inability to stop teams from scoring in the 4th quarter...Last season's 4th Q scoring: Opponents 136 - UAB 79.

Bottom line...is that tonight will be Williams time to shine as he has the spotlight all to himself....This is his coming out party...while Hackney will be to concerned with trying to save this season...Williams already has over 1300 yards and scored 12 TDs this year...and the way he has been racking up the yards in the past two game with 424 rushing yards and 4 scores...definately gives me alot of confidence that he will continue this consistancy....while Uab's lack of consistancy and on both sides of the line will again cause this Blazer team, loaded with alot of firepower to fizzle out in the end...as Williams and Avery take over this game late and control them from getting any chances of a comeback tonight....Memphis learned a valuable lesson in their last game when they almost blew a 17-0 lead to another pass happy team in EC...The same wont happen tonight...especially with Uab's trend of not being able to stop less than average teams late in the games....Tigers and Willaims finally get their Big Revenge over a Uab team who has owned them the past 5 years....Go Tigers!

WV -14 (buy .5pt)

Uconn is clearly not in the right position or situation to take on such a physical team as these Mountaineers team is....First all of their so-called National Stats they racked up and which is being promoted is a bunch of bullshit...as they were padded by facing one of the easiest schedule in the nation...Before facing and losing to Rutgers in their last game...this is who the Huskies faced and racked up yards and stats against Army, Buffalo, Liberty, Syracuse, and Cincy...Today against WV they are not facing any weak ass team with a weak ass running game or defense at all...And, their Fr QB will have to do it on the road and at one of the most hostile places, not to mention on national tv as well....Oh Boy!

Uconn's team last season was loaded with some quality players including NFL-QB Ovloski (sp)...and a solid veteran OL...However, they were hit hard and in total, they lost 22 Senior letterman and have only 5 seniors that returned this year...Their star QB is gone...Their top 2 QB's are out...and now and Uconn is breaking in a new Fr QB, who frankly was not even expected to step on the field....Furthermore, they will needed to replace 4 starters from that OL as well....Uconn lives and dies by their running game...But lately, their running game has been very inefficient...In fact, in their last game vs Rutgers they only rushed for 97 yards on 33 carries in the lost...There top RB's in Caulley had only 26 yards and Brockington, didnt do much outside of one big 51 yard TD run also....Today, this running game of Uconn which is seemingly stalled in neutral must try to get out of it against the16th ranked rush defense in the nation....who is only allowing 106.7 ypg on the ground. and limits opponents to only 2.7 yards per rushing attempt...not to mention, that WV's is also ranked 9th in the country overall in total defense allowing just 290 ypg...is something I just cant see happening today...If Uconn struggles vs conventional defenses...well then they will be hard pressed to solve WV 3-3-5 style of defense they play..

A Fr QB, making his first start on the road in hostile territory is always a bad situation...But going into a hostile place to play with a banged up defense, like the Huskie defense is, just makes their situation even worst for them......How worst?...Well, last week at home..they faced a team that is not known for their running game...but rather their passing, and they gave up a whopping 238 yards on 42 carries to Rutgers...In total, the Huskies gave up over 500 yards of total offense to Rutgers....Today, they need to go up against one of the best Ground Em and Pound Em teams in the nation in WV...who is ranked 9th in the country and averages 229.4 ypg on the ground so far this year..and it wont be easy at all, as again this Husky defense lost alot of their run stuffing studs to injury and also because there so called national rankings on defense, where they were ranked as high as 5th in the land in total defense, giving up only 247.8 ypg and less than 3.9 ypp...is going to be exposed again tonight against this WV power running offense....

Side Note: After seven games the Huskies were tied with Ohio State for 8th in the country when it came to scoring defense, allowing only 14.6 ppg, mainly because the pass defense has been so difficult to break....Difficult to break, look at who they played before Rutgers tore them a new asshole.....Army, Buffalo, Liberty, Syracuse, and Cincy...

Side Note: The Huskies were recognized as the 17th- best team in the nation in rushing with an average of 217.4 ypg...again, look at who they faced...including Rutgers, Army, Buffalo, Liberty, Syracuse, and Cincy...

The only team with any reason to be claimed a quality opponent was GT and in that game at GT they lost 28-13...and they went there full strength and on a so-called roll...Again, this time its different as they come into play in hostile territory way less than full strength and doing this against a nationally ranked team, who already has confidence as they beat your best team last season, 31-19 in your house...is not a good thing...

Some say that WV will be rusty from the long lay off...I say they wont...as they are a running team and not so much a passing one...Plus, the lay off gave them time to get over any hangover effect after that big come from behind OT win over Louisville and also allowed them time to heal up for this one...Ie, they get back their best run stuffer in DL Ernest Hunter as well...I am not worried at all that they also are starting a Fr at QB because unlike Brown for the Huskies, QB White has played in every game for WV and is alot more experienced...furthermore, he also ranks 2nd on the team in rushing with 304 yards and a TD on 53 carries...In addition...he has proven to be quite a closer for WV...as he came in relief of Bednarik and helped the Mountaineers upset Louisville....Bottom line is with White and RB Slaton, also a freshman, and who had 6 TDs against Louisville...it gives WV one of the best young backfields in the land....something Uconn cant say the same about and that spells trouble...

Tonight, I am expecting the House to be pumping as the home town fans finally get to see their Mountaniers play again...and they will surely be ready to play this team after hearing all of those nationally ranked defensive stats all week long...Not to mention, all the talk about the opportunities for a BCS bowl game after they beat Louisville...WV is something special on weekday night games and against this Husky team that wont change at all....All WV Tonight!

*please disregard any typos and grammatical errors as I had no time to edit this...Thxs.

*REGULAR 7 PT TEASER PLAY ON: (2 Units)

WV -7.5 & Over 34

-One thing I forgot to mention above was that WV's running game with Slaton and White against the #3 Va Tech defense was that Slaton rushed for 90 yards on 11 carries for 8.2 ypr....and White rushed for 44 yards on 11 carries for 4.0 ypr...The Mountaineers still lost the game..but it was mainly Vick's running that beat their defense as he rushed for 74 yards on 12 carries and a TD....But they did hold RB's Humes and Imoh to a combined 110 yards on 35 carries and 1 TD for an average of 3.1 ypr...Solid!...Huskies are no where near that of Va Techs ground game....Love It!

Toledo -10 (buy .5pt)

-Ok Ohio tied for 1st in the MAC East Conf and now are feeling good about themselves...well thats not how you want to go into facing an angry MAC defending Champs off of an upset loss in their last game....A game that they played below what they are able to by far....Most upset is the Rockets leader and QB Grad...as his offense could only put up 17 points against the Chips..and that is way way below their average of 36.6 ppg and almost 100 yards below their solid 434.1 total yard average as well...Well, can it happen again this week vs the Bobcats....I say, HELL NO...Why?....Because the Bobcats dont possess no where near the potency which this Rockets #1 scoring offense in the MAC possess and they dont have that stellar defense needed to stop them either..

For one, Ohio's offense averages only 20.1 ppg...and although they are coming in off of two back to back 33 + scoring outputs...all you need to do is look who they played and you will have the answer to why that happened....Plus what good is 20.1 ppg when your defense averages giving up over 30 ppg...Still, if that is not enough to convince you....here's more reasons..

Ohio last in the MAC in 3rd down % ...with their 28.1% rate....While the Rockets are ranked #1 in the league with their solid 49.5% conversion rate....Unreal!....Toledo also ranked 2nd in the league in passing completion averaging 66.4% completion rate....Ohio is last again in this category, completing just 40% of their passes...and they are also last in completions per a game (averaging just 11 completions per game), passing yards per a game (128 passing ypg), and have thrown the fewest TD passes with just 5 on the year....Not Enough!

And if you think the Rockets offensive passing stats are solid...it can also be attributed to the Big Uglies up front as they have only allowed the leagues lowest sacks with only 10 given up...So QB Grad is sitting pretty most times...and when this happens, its over baby.....Oh but wait just one minute...The Rockets potent offense is not just due to Grads passing...but also due to Toledo's solid running attack that leads the league with their solid 214.3 ypg rushing, 5.4 ypr (2nd in the MAC), and 16 TD's (2nd in the MAC)....To much balance on offense.

Now when Toledo is on defense, how in the hell is this Ohio team expecting to move the ball with any type of consistancy at all....Sure they do have a solid ground attack that is averaging 200.1 ypg rushing....and 4.9 ypr average...This is all good if your facing teams like Buffalo and Ball St....who btw are two of the most shittiest teams in the MAC at stopping the run....How shitty are they, well they both are allowing teams to average over 5 ypr and over 220 ypg rushing and also have already combined to give up 38 rushing TDs between the two....Holy Shit!

Toledo has the number 1 rated scoring defense only allowing 18 ppg...and they also have the best run defense in the league allowing just 119.5 ypg rushing and just 3.3 ypr to opponents this year....WOW!....One thing about Toledo's defense is that their strength lies in their LB'ing corp who is very active and who should be able to shut down RB McRae, who has gone ape shit against shitty run defenses he has faced this year....Now the soph will be facing the best in the league..and without a threat of a passing game from Ohio...the Rockets will be stacking the line to stop the run....and then bringing the House on Blitzes on passing situations....Ohio completes 28.1% on 3rd downs and just 40% of their passes on the year so far...and that says, the risk of blitzing and stacking the line to shut their one dimensional offense, is well worth taking...

In last weeks lost, Toledo put the offense in QB Grads hands and almost forgot about their solid running game...which I have no idea why....But, after a lost I am sure that they will not sway away from that effective balance play on offense in this game no matter what....Plus, with Ohio's defense equally struggling against both the run (allowing an average of 152 ypg) and the pass (allowing an average of 289 ypg)....it simply makes to much sense to play balance ball as doing that will make it so much easier to blow this team out from the start....If Ohio gave up 432 yards to a poor Buffalo team in last weeks win....I wonder how much they will give up to one of the best offenses, not only in the league...but also in the nation.

Once the Bobcats are put into position where they must play from behind and must now air it out inorder make up the difference...you can pretty much call it a day...as QB Everson is nowhere near able to put up the numbers he may need to inorder to keep pace with Toledo's Grad....Everson is only completing 48.5 % of his passes..and has only thrown 4 TDs to his 8 interceptions....Ohio leads the league in interceptions with 14...but makes no sense when their QB gives over half of it right back....

Toledo is just to good on both sides of the line and they have just to much balance for this Ohio team's defense to stop from putting up alot of points...Ohio's chances lies with their defense...but no way do I see them being able to stop Toledo, who is now focused and eager to get back in the win column....Both teams defense though has been solid at forcing turnovers...but it is Toledo who has the offense to take advantage of them....

Bottom line.....these stats says it all....The Rockets average a healthy 36.6 ppg behind 434.1 total ypg (214.2 ypg rushing, with 16 TDs) and (219.9 ypg passing with 18 TDs)....Team leader QB Gradkowski, has thrown for 17 TDs, and hits 64.7% of his pass attempts....and he spreads it around to everyone, as 5 players have at least19 catches and 4 of them have caught 3 or more TD passes as well.....Toledo's offense shines tonight and ****** the DD spread.... GO ROCKETS!

-Ok...I done all the research and I know you, as ,know all there possibly needs to know on this game from a stat and trend and past history standpoint...between these two teams...I mean, unless your a hermit who lives underground, how could you not hear, watch, read, or listen as information leading up to this game has been on constantly and even more continuously as each week brought us closer and closer to this Game of the Year battle between these two, that is going to be played out on the biggest stage there is in the world....MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL BABY!

So, because of this fact...I am not going into to much detail in what we all already know....Instead, I am going to share alittle bit of myself and some insights as to how I see what is going to happen and why its going to happen...It will be short and sweet and to the point...as everything else involving this one cannot be determined like all the other out there would like to think so...ie, the numbers guys....Nothing against them at all, as I feel numbers can at times forecast what is going to happen in the future...But, I just feel that in this case the numbers, current numbers, dont say as much as the past numbers included with the present players emotions/mental state (something numbers will never be able to determine) involving these two AFC Giants...

Ok, and lets get those past numbers I speak of out of the way...First off, Indy with Manning is 0-7 at New England....Coach Bellichek is 7-1 vs Indy as a Patriot coach....Coach Dungy is 0-4 vs the Patriots as the Colt coach....QB Tom Brady is the Two-Time Super Bowl MVP, while Peyton has yet to even lead his team to a Super Bowl or AFC Championship for that matter...Enough said here!...Oh and btw, Indy is 0-4 ATS after a Bye since 2001 (pick this stat up)....However this is why I dont necessarily use past stats and trends as a primary means to Handicap my selections..but use them only as a secondary means to support a play already determined through fundamental and situational capping methods....Yesterday's play on Zona...we had a stats on the Seahawks that said they were currently 0-6 after a Bye week, and also something like 3-13 in their last 16 games off a Bye as well...And we know how that one turned out right...Ok lets move on..

Now, this is what I like...Pat's have two psychological edges working in their favor in this one...First they are in the heads of the Colts..Yes in the heads of the Colts...and I do mean all the Colts, including Coach Dungy....Still, the main people involved in this one is the players themselves, and primarily QB Manning...as everyone is saying that this is the Colts year to knock off the Patriots as the Patriots are very vulnerable due to all their injuries, etc...Wow, talk about adding even more pressure to the guy who hasnt yet even won there before...Does Payton need more pressure on him....I say hell no...Especially, when he went up against these Pats last year...and playing his best ever of his career, when his offense and him were Fuckin on Fire...What happened to the TD scoring machine of Peyton and the Colts when they met up with Bellicheks Genius?....Can you say two losses and just 2 TDs scored in those two games...

This year, they (Colts) is not on Fire on offense just yet..as they started slow averaging just 15 ppg in their first 3 games...and then exploded for 38 pts (their highest pts scored so far on the road) in their last game vs the Texans, WOW...Oh, and I must add that their explosion came in the 2nd half, and not from start to finish...If I can remember correctly they were tied with the Texans 14-14 at half-time...To beat NE you will have to dominate them from start to finish, and this is something that is very hard to do....Why?...Because for one, you will be on the road and in very hostile territory...so keeping focus on doing this for every single down is not going to be an easy thing to do...And second, remember...the Pats defend their House with alot of pride baby.....And this year, they already had a bad awful taste when they allowed SD to come in and kick their asses all over their own field....That defeat at home, to me was something they needed to have inorder to wake them up abit and not take playing at home as an automatic win....Sometimes teams win so much at home that they start to feel invincible and get complacent....Well, I dont expect the Pats to be in that state of mind for awhile and especially not for this game...Secondly, the Pats will have the benefit of the fans, and yes they do play a big part in providing a strong HFA...and NE does have a strong HFA...If you dont think the House will be rockin then you just dont know...The Colts is all everyone has heard being talked about...and now they have to face the fact that their team is installed as an underdog as well..is something that will only sit right with the hometown fans that are also betting fans, cause they finally get to take points on their team playing at home...lol...But for the rest, Forgetaboutit....They are pissed off like the Dickens and will surely show it tonight..Its going to be loud as hell for Manning and company....You can be sure of it.

Looking back on the Colts 7-0 start to the year...I also simply cannot agree with the statements about them being able to knock off the Pats on the road....Why?...Because these Colts have not played anyone worth a shit and a nickel yet all year long...If, they did and won handily...then that would be a different story...but that is not the case here...Just go down the list of who they played and tell me if that is worth them being a 4 pt favorite in this game...I say Hell Fuckin No!....Like Teddy Brewski said to that stupid interviewer after the game.... "Commmmon Now" ....I get a kick everytime I watch that...LOL.

Second psychological edge for the Pats..come in way of the return of one of their leader, if not their only real leader on the defense, in LB Brewski....Sure some might say that they already used that emotional card when he returned to play in last weeks game against the Bills....Well, I say thats not true...It is in this game where I see his return helping this team out the most from a physical, psychological, and also an emotional standpoint....Last week, yes he came back...but it didnt go off as much in way of being a lift, imo...as the Pats were DD favorites over the Bills, a team who is not even considered a threat to knock them off...So there was no real sense of urgency or real need for him to play....So it was like business as usual from where I was looking...

In regards to this one though...Not so fast my friends...Why?...Cause if anytime this NE defense needed some sort of boost in play or a boost to a higher confident emotional level, it is in this game that they need it....And they will definately get it because he is back with the Pack to Attack!...Brewski's return wasnt a thing that happened to be just coincindence....His plan on getting back faster was planned out when he saw the team heading downwards and fast...Thus, his return was to be made several weeks leading up to this game...as it is a very important, if not, the most important game that the Pats need to win this year.....I cannot even go on to tell you how important this one is for them, but will try later....But believe me this one NEEDS TO BE WON TONIGHT! ....If everything was going good, I can assure you that Brewski's return would of most likely been in the playoffs or even the Super Bowl (as no one wants to miss that one)...But for it to occurred two games before this showdown...one week to get it together at practice and start all the media bullshit...and the next game to play and catch up to the speed with real game time play, while also putting behind the majority of all the media bullshit around him...inorder for his team to focus entirely on the Colts instead...This was a planned out and coordinated effort on Brewski and the Patriots part..

Still, even with his return...most out there continue to say that it wont matter...or that one guy cant make a difference in this one or that he will not be enough to overcome Manning this year...Well, all I got to say is, they might be right...and they might be wrong....But surely dont come to me speaking like you are guaranteeing his return wont make a difference...as we all know that there is no guarantees in this game...When, I hear people saying this kind of thing..it just makes me laugh because they obviously havent been a playa in this game....Cause, I for one know that one persons return, especially a star or a leader returning can make a difference in the play of their teammates...I know, cause I was a player and I definately know what goes on in the minds of a team without a star player or more importantly one of their emotional leaders, who would usually be doing battle right along side them, but is not for some reason....And the same goes when they return..but it is sometimes extra special....Ever hear people say, that this game is 10% physical and 90% mental?....Well, NE is the defending Champs so you know the physical part is there...I say his return only will help them to utilize and bring out that mental part, which has been partially absent since their loss at Carolina and then again at Home to SD..

Shit, I need to cut this shit short...damn you can tell how involved I get in my capping as I can just go on and on...But hopefully you guys can understand what I am trying to say..as it is hard sometimes to get whats in your head out on paper and also in a way that can be understood as well...I hope I am doing a effective job at doing this, as this is a rather different Write-Up then what I normally do..

Anyways, this is the bottom line in this one for me....The Pats still got the main pieces in place here...And that is the Killer B's....Just like other dynasties in other sports had their players and coaches in place...ie, in Basketball you had the Killer J's..in Jordan, Jippen, and Coach Jackson....In Baseball you have the Killer R's in Rodrigues, Rivera, and Coach Rorrey.....And in Football you again have the Killer B's (sorry Houston, but your no Dynasty) in NE's Brady, Brewski, and Coach Bellichek...And that is most times all you need...Great players make others around them way better....But put a Genius in charge of leading them and providing them with the strategy that only Genius's can come up with...and you become a dynasty like the Pats have become...To many people are acting to fast to discredit this team this year ..and I say that is simply not smart to do...These are the defending Champs, not a team that use to be Champs several years ago...So until someone else take the Title, they should still be given that respect in my eyes...And, in this one with Peyton and the Colts, until they or him proves that they can win at NE, I will not jump on his ship...and especially not in this game...with these other things as well, working to motivate this NE team tonight..

-NE is in a must win situation...They are 4-3 and cannot afford to lose more games or they just might not make the playoffs...There is definately a sense of urgency for the Pats...and especially since they know with the Colts being 7-0, and most likely winning HF throughout the playoffs....they will need to win again inorder to have another edge against them should they have to play them again....Or need to win just incase the Colts fall down several more times this year, opening up home field again for the playoffs.

-In big games like this one is..the Pats can gain alot of confidence in the fact that they have on their side QB Brady, who is Mr Clutch...Brady is the best clutch QB in the game today and has proven this many many times over...Manning has not...And inregards to playing the Pats, he is Mr Flop...Does a year all of a sudden make Mr Clutch a Mr Flop or a Mr Flop a Mr Clutch....I say hell no...as Brady still operates the #2 passing attack in the NFL and he will be at Home for this one....Manning, although has talent around him, has not yet proven himself or even won at NE yet...So, until he does, he will always be Mr Flop inregards to this game played in this House.

-NE has the Genius in their corner, who no one is going to even have to doubt his abilities for coming up with a successful gameplan to once again get his team to victory in Big games, like he has proven to do so many times before...Remember, before this NE team became household names...they were a bunch of no-name players..and it was Bellichek "the Genius", who used his wisdom to make them into World Champions...Teddy who?..Brady who?..Exactly..

-Oh and lastly...we all forget about the kickers...and seem to only remember them when they fuck up and miss a freakin chip shot that would of help us to cover the spread...Kickers are the butt of jokes most times in football...and deservingly so...LOL...However, if there is one guy who is not the butt of anyones jokes but rather who people refer to as Tom Brady of FG Kickers as he is also Mr Clutch...it's Kicker Adam Venerteri...In tonights game I expect him to have a big impact on it..as I see both defenses coming up with big stops...But, this guy gives NE an added advantage because he is a scoring weapon who all money..

Many people including cappers keep forgetting or fail to understand that in football there is 3 parts...Offense, Defense, and Special Teams play...I dont, I just dont like to most times talk about the other 3rd as I have to many bad memories that still causes me to have bad nightmares....and its all because of those guys with that stupid one bar facemask and their different color shoes...ie, Kevin Butler..Fuck You Kevin you Asshole! ...Flashback to that game against Minny which I had the Bears at +3.5 and all Butler had to do was kick a chip shot to secure the win in a tied up game...but noooo, the fuck misses an easy one sending it to OT....To which I said to myself...self, dont worry cause you have +3.5 and if anything you will win by a .5 pt in OT...Well, guess what happened...Minny's WR Carter catches a pass shakes off a defender and goes 80 freakin yards for a TD in OT...all because this asshole missed a chip shot inside the 20....

Sorry about that..lol...Anyways,...tonight I have to go with the defending Champs who has Mr Clutch at QB, Mr Clutch at Kicker, Mr Emotional Leader on defense, and "The Genius" on the sidelines running the show...and they are also at Home and also and Underdog as well....There is a big reason why the MNF Home Underdog Trend was the most successful betting trend of all time...that beat Vegas at over 73% clip....A big reason....Only one thing though...none of those Home Underdog wins came with the Home Team being the defending World Champs, who I have to add also had a two time Super Bowl MVP QB, or a Head Coach who everyone in the world labeled as "A Genius"....This one does and thus to me makes it even more solid a play to back this Monday Night Home Underdog....

Last of the last bottom lines...lol...is that if this one was to be played in the RCA Dome then definately I would lay the points with the Colts....But its not and Peyton has not beaten the Pats yet to give me any reason to side with him tonight, even with all the injuries the Pats have...As far as I am concerned, until he proves first to be able to do that, I cannot side with him...and especially coming into this one as the favored....To me that is simply another added motivation and a big disrespecting way for this wounded Champions, who are in a sense of urgency and will be playing with a fear of loss mentality, to be even that much more motivated tonight...A wounded animal is very dangerous...How dangerous do you feel a wounded Champion, being disrepectedly labeled as an underdog at Home..and continuously shoved into the grave and doing so when it is only mid-season?....Oh Boy, we will definately find out tonight.....Go Patriots!

**TOP RATED 7 PT TEASER PLAY ON: (3 Units)

NE +11 & Under 55.5

-Reason for the Under is due to the fact that Bellichek knows that the Colts have a high scoring offense and I dont think he is dumb to get this into a shootout...That is not his style...The Colts on the other hand would probably love it as they know they have some mismatches to exploit....But Bellichek knows that he must dictate the tempo of this game and I see him doing it with the short passing game mixed up with the running game to do this...Short passing game will also keep Brady less pressured as the Colts do lead the NFL in sacks so far this year...So it will also help to keep those rushers in check and when that happens chains should be moving often, thus more time should be running as well....

Marshall +7

Both of these teams have solid defensives and but the edge on offense goes to S Miss because of QB Almond....However, the Golden Eagles has struggled on the road offensively this year...and wont find things going to easy vs this Herd defense that is sure to be pumped up tonight on national tv...and also their bowl hopes are still alive after that win over Tulane..

This will be SMiss 3rd straight road game...and to make things worst, they still have another road game scheduled for this Sunday vs Houston...So they definately will have had their minds, clocks, and pressure on them this week for sure..and especially coming off of a big game vs ACC opponent NCST where they blew the game and lost outright...Not sure if were all there, as they got ready for this game tonight...But surely have to expect that Marshall was after they put together that come from behind win over Tulane...Sometimes a heartbreaking loss is all that is needed for a home underdog to steal one from the visiting favorite..as they come in unprepared for this excited and motivated home dog with a solid defense to boot..

Speaking of defenses though...SMiss and Marshall come into this one ranked 3rd and 4th in the conference in Scoring Defense with a mere .04 pts separating the two...But, as far as total yards per a game given up...Marshall avg's allowing just 332 ypg to SMiss's 404.6 ypg, although playing one more game than the Golden Eagles have...Against the pass is where the strength of this Herd team is as they allow just 190.4 ypg through the air...ranking 3rd...While SMiss's weakness this year has been at stopping opponents passing attack, as they allow 59% completion and 248.7 ypg....One thing here is that although Marshall's weakness on offense is their passing attack...they still have been able to complete 55.1% of their passes for an average of 218.8 ypg...and this is just roughly 11 yards less than what SMiss's passing attack averages a game at 229.6 ypg...not to mention, that SMiss also only avg's 54% completion as well...With the weakness being in SMiss secondary...and the strenght of the Herds defense being in their secondary...I see Marshall getting more of an opportunity to create alot of pressure on this SMiss team should the Herd get things rolling on offense...And that is what I see them being able to do..

Both teams are close to being equal in their rush attack...And they are two of the best in the conf against the run as well...SMiss is ranked 1st with Marshall coming in a close 2nd against the run....However, the Thundering Herd is ranked 1st in ypr allowing just 3.7 ypr...1st in rushing yards allowed per game, at 141.6....and 1st in least TDs allowed via the run, only allowing 8 so far this year....This is where I see the Herds defense coming up big again...as they should be able to shut down the Golden Eagles running game, which is 2nd to last in the conf and also tied for least rushing TD's as well...When this happens, I expect the pressure to come full on at stopping QB Almond as now he will be playing right into the strength of this Herd defense...And I dont expect them to let Almond beat them, like he was able to do at UAB...
I always love a solid home dog who plays with alot of pride and comes in with a solid defense as well....And, this is exactly what the Herd has and does....GO MARSHALL!
