Favre to Kansas City for a Fifth round pick. Then Kansas City turns around and trades him to the Vikings for a 2nd round pick one week later. LOL. Although there are probably rules against players being traded twice over that short a time span. Or he could end his career in Kansas City like Joe Montana.

What a jerk. I can't believe the way he's jacked the team around.

Sign him & sit him-it's what he deserves after this stunt.

As a huge Favre fan(and more so a Packer fan), somewhat echo your sentiments. Sad to say, but I seen this coming. Now I'm hoping Brett understands that it is best just to hang up the threads. However, I believe he had no intentions of retiring when he gave his retirement speech, as it was more of just a good-bye to the Packers. This is precisely why he canceled all his engagments in the Wisconsin area, which he indicated in the retirement news conference, as he and his wife cancelled them because they said they "were just very tired"...........ok, whatever.

Well put. Also the loss to the Giants was still very fresh in his mind.
His daughter going to college and Deana travelling for her organization would leave him home alone. Green Bay will do the right thing here. Touchy situation for all. Nobody is bigger than the game.

As I stated the day of his retirement(or close to it), Favre is a perfect fit for the.........

NEW ORLEANS SAINTS

......and it was his favorite team growing up, not to mention its a stones throw away from his home in Hattiesburg.

OH WHEN THE SAINTS, GO MARCHING IN.........

:pope:

He would not get on the football field.
I am the biggest Favre fan in the history of this forum, but the Saints have one of the top 3 or 4 QBs in the NFL right now.
I would hate to see Brett on the bench. Would not be right.

Tampa would be the best spot although I do not want to see him in the NFC South.

Look for Brees to go down with an injury, and the Saints calling on Favre.........

If Brees gets hurt in camp I am 100% in favor of Bret Favre playing for my Siants.
It would be awsome for my favorite player of all-time to play for my favorite team, but we need brees to stay healthy.

What happens when Rodgers gets hurt? He can trip on a sidewalk and get a broken ankle. Fans would be sooooooooooo upset if he got hurt in the first few games.

He's not going to Minny and not because they're high on Tarvaris Jackson (LOL). The Packers can not hold him hostage as a backup but no way they will let him anywhere near the NFC North. He's also not going anywhere where he will not be the clear cut #1.

BAL and TB seems like the best fit as their defenses are still good enough to make a run with a better than average QB. But then what would TB do about Garcia?

However, I am intrigued by the OAK idea. Those nutjob fans would go crazy with him as their starting QB. I don't mean that as an insult. If you recall, they actually showed him respect on that Monday Night back in '03.

That may be hypocritical in light of current events, but it doesn't change the fact that it was true. Sharpe and Walker were selfish and Favre's career didn't really suffer after both of them were gone.

PLEASE JUST GO AWAY!! Enough of the hypocrisy. Enough of the tearful goodbyes. Enough of the throwing the sack record to Strahan. Enough of the flip flopping. Enough of the Vicodins.

Sheesh, I've had enough of Favre for 2 lifetimes. Went from a fan who respected this guy to a fan who thinks he's a joke.

GM, coach: Packers don't plan to release Favre

By CHRIS JENKINS, AP Sports Writer 12 minutes ago

The Green Bay Packers' general manager and coach say they don't plan to grant Brett Favre's request for his release.
GM Ted Thompson and coach Mike McCarthy told The Associated Press on Saturday that the star quarterback was welcome to rejoin the team but would have to be a backup.
It was their first public comments since Favre demanded his release this week. Favre held a tearful news conference to announce his retirement March 6.
Thompson and McCarthy did not want to discuss a possible trade. Thompson said he had not received any inquiries as of Saturday morning.

Not a classy way to treat a guy that gave so much to the organization. d1g1t

I agree that this whole thing from Favre is annoying and he is annoying, but the Packers position is still not cool. So just release him and let him do what wants. Or trade him if you can. But to say yeah come back and sit on the bench. That's just demeaning. Not cool.

Wrong. They owe him nothing. How many times are you going to quit yet to come back. As a business owner you have to move on if you respect what the guy says. Is he good enough to be the starter, hell ya. Big GB fan here and love #4 play but he is holding the team hostage. Last I heard this is not golf or tennis, its a team game. Thompson, who is a very matter of fact individual, took Favre at his word on retirement and moved on. Athletes should never be able to run the asylum. Let him compete for the job and the best man wins. Rodgers will not last 5-6 games IMO because of him being injury prone.
