What a jerk. I can't believe the way he's jacked the team around.
Sign him & sit him-it's what he deserves after this stunt.
As a huge Favre fan(and more so a Packer fan), somewhat echo your sentiments. Sad to say, but I seen this coming. Now I'm hoping Brett understands that it is best just to hang up the threads. However, I believe he had no intentions of retiring when he gave his retirement speech, as it was more of just a good-bye to the Packers. This is precisely why he canceled all his engagments in the Wisconsin area, which he indicated in the retirement news conference, as he and his wife cancelled them because they said they "were just very tired"...........ok, whatever.
As I stated the day of his retirement(or close to it), Favre is a perfect fit for the.........
NEW ORLEANS SAINTS
......and it was his favorite team growing up, not to mention its a stones throw away from his home in Hattiesburg.
OH WHEN THE SAINTS, GO MARCHING IN.........
ope:
He would not get on the football field.
I am the biggest Favre fan in the history of this forum, but the Saints have one of the top 3 or 4 QBs in the NFL right now.
I would hate to see Brett on the bench. Would not be right.
Tampa would be the best spot although I do not want to see him in the NFC South.
Look for Brees to go down with an injury, and the Saints calling on Favre.........
Remember when Favre publicly called out Sharpe and Walker for being selfish? :missingte
GM, coach: Packers don't plan to release Favre
By CHRIS JENKINS, AP Sports Writer 12 minutes ago
The Green Bay Packers' general manager and coach say they don't plan to grant Brett Favre's request for his release.
GM Ted Thompson and coach Mike McCarthy told The Associated Press on Saturday that the star quarterback was welcome to rejoin the team but would have to be a backup.
It was their first public comments since Favre demanded his release this week. Favre held a tearful news conference to announce his retirement March 6.
Thompson and McCarthy did not want to discuss a possible trade. Thompson said he had not received any inquiries as of Saturday morning.
Not a classy way to treat a guy that gave so much to the organization. d1g1t
