I was mentally ill. Just like a heart condition or diabetes. I was sick.

God's purposes are not always known. But I suffered a lot and I suffer no more and I'm better for having gone through it and feel ecstatic everyday about life.

Yes, and they helped a lot. Sorry for your loss but Jesus paid for the sins of the whole world and you can take comfort in knowing that suicide does nothing to nullify Christ's crucifixion.
