UEFA Cup
KAA Gent/Kalmar FF over 2 1/2 1.71 (2 units)
I know I stated in my previous post that I will wait until just before the matches start to post my picks but the odds on this one seem to be going away from my bet so I am posting it now.

Kalmar will be at home and they have scored 27 goals in 10 home matches in their league. They lost the first match of a home-and-away series 1-2 to Gent so coach Nanne Bergstrand is stating that they will have to be on the attack:

"It is an interesting challenge we face. We know that we need to win the match and we also know that we can rarely fail. Now is the time to attack wise, given that we do not want to give away the first goal."

Kalmar will have Mikael Eklund back after injury as well as having David Elm back after a suspension. Elm has 7 goals in the Allsvenskan league.

This is the last time that International play will be seen in Fredriksskans Stadium as Kalmar will be playing future matches in Borås Arena.

I have also mentioned in this thread previously that Kalmar has been known to give up goals as well. Gent has not scored less than 2 goals in their 3 matches in their league.

Svenska Cupen
IFK Goteborg/Enköpings SK FK over 3 1.94
Goteborg is a team in the Allsvenskan league which is the top Swedish league. Enköping is a team in the league below that one.

Goteborg has been scoring well on the road but have also been giving up goals. They should be able to score well against the lower-league team while Enköping should get a goal or two as well.

Kalmar scores late to get the money:toast:

Bam! Out go the lights!

My man Patrik for the hat trick. For those who may not be familiar with Patrik Ingelsten, he's simply the best footballer in Sweden. He has 15 goals in the Allsvenskan and the next highest player has 9. That's not counting Cup play.

This was quite a bit of luck but last weekend I had an Under lose by having 2 goals scored in the last 10 minutes so it happens both ways. I'll take it.

:pope:

Kalmar 4, Gent 0, WINNER, +1.42
Goteborg 3, Enköping 0, Push, 0.00

YTD: +15.56

If the over keeps cashing, I may name my first-born Kalmar.:103631605

Or at least the middle name. I still contend that I will fly over there after a big bet won on these guys.

I think we have even better opportunities with league play. These cup plays always make me wonder if they will play conservatively like they did against Hammarby. This Sunday they have Sundsvall at home.

Irish Republic - Premier League
Cork City pk 1.87 over Shamrock
PK System play here. Cork City has won all of their last 10 road matches except for a UEFA Cup match against Haka.

Shamrock is in a little slump losing their last 2 home matches including a 0-1 loss to Cork City in the FAI Cup a couple weeks ago.

UEFA - Super Cup
Manchester United/FC Zenit St. Petersburg over 2 1/2 2.04
Zenit is loading up for this one as Arshavin is scheduled to play and Danny should inject some new energy into this club.

From all accounts (including interviews of Sir Alex) ManU is taking this match seriously. Nani and Anderson are back.

When was last time you seen Man Utd scoring more than once?know Zenith defence not looking great from reviwing their scores home but today will be different ,it takes 90 mins give or take and i think it will be low scoring even tho it is kind of a friendly match, for the russian lots of reputation in here and Utd just sucks as of late as far as to scoring so really hard for me seeing this one goes over..gl sir.

I think the disparity between the teams will allow ManU to score a couple. I think Zenit's defense will be tired. I also think they can score once here as well.

Dont forget, that on 25 November it can be -5 or even -10 degrees Celcius. Dont think the Juventus players will be that comfortable playing in that weather on a frozen pitch. Remember how Real lost to Spartak Moscow a few years ago. Only because of the conditions, the players of Real couldnt play their usual game...It'll be all great matches, think Zenit has a very small chance to go to the next round.

Wexford Youths pk 1.66 over Athlone Town
PK System play here as well as a Dr. Jekyl play.

Wexford had a great win over Cork City on Monday for their 2nd road win in a row.

Athlone has not won in their last 6 matches.

Have you ever been in Torino during winter ? I used to live in Costa Rica before come back to my city: it will be my 4th winter back here and I still can't get used to it. Unfortunately cold is not the issue; I am sure if we still had the team we had before being shot down, we could easily win the group. Juventus has plenty of character and hunger, very strong offense, very very poor defense and a predictable muscle mnided midfield. That's why I am sincerely sad about the draft, but then again at this stage every team is good. I sure will buy asap tickets for Zenit and Real though, can't wait!!! Best of luck to everyone:103631605

If Zenit can score points at home against Juve/Real, and we dont fuck up against BATE, we could have a shot. Depends on the state of the team at that moment etc. But on paper you're right, the big guys should proceed to the next stage, no doubt..

well at half time 1-0 for Zenit, last 15 mins of 1st half showed he russians playing superb football/soccer..so you still have some hope here to see 3 goals scored, however commentator just stated that Man Utd has played on that field in Monaco already twice and never managed to score there not even once..see if it wil be any different with 45 mins to go.

If they take this seriously like Sir Alex says they will they can score 2 here. The field itself is not a determining factor so much as the contest.
