US completely outclassed at every position on the pitch, but that is to be expected. Belgium's touch in the final third continues to be horrendous.

The United States has a great goalkeeper as he kept the United States in the game a lot longer than they should have been.......And you are right about the U.S. being outclassed in a lot of positions........Now the question becomes is Belgium really that good and talented or is U.S. just too far away from that level.

If it wasn't for USA's goalkeeper, Belgium would have won 3-0 in regulation.......as for is Belgium that good?

I said before the knockout round that Belgium played in the weakest group & that they take 30 minutes just to warm up.......

They will lose to Argentina .......Belgium is over classed in this game.

Playing on South American soil plus experience helps Argentina whereas Belgium's best finish was 4th Place in 1986..........That said, I don't doubt Belgium's talent as they are surrounded by Germany, France, and Netherlands as that is a very talent-rich geographical area in the world of soccer.....

Belgium has raw talent......they have a good team but are raw. They don't gel like Colombia or some of the better teams.......I believe by the way that Colombia is the youngest team in this tournament.

We will see the youngest team play like a veteran team come Friday vs Brazil.

TCG... Belgium has still looked more dangerous at times. How great was Argentina's group? Complete SHITE. They are waiting for Messi to make it happen. Higuain was non existent last game. They could barely crack a compact Swiss team in the defensive third... or Iran...

I know I said Brazil/Argentina war of attrition, but can Argentina GK be as successful as Howard?

I think the only safe bets are the way overpriced "to advance" plays....

Brazil, France +.5 if Lahm plays CM rather than RB, Belgium +.5, Holland

Man, we are having a rough go here. For the next game, so many people are on Colombia that it leads me to think Brazil is the way to go.

well we fed the masses today for the holiday bbq :)

I should have known better going against Brazil, but I sure did like France. I'll be right back in line with dogs tomorrow because I like Belgium quite a bit. This could prove to be a dangerous line of thinking this round.

agreed, like belgium's back line over Argentina's.

France was my longshot to win it all. Thought they were peaking at the right time. Today it seemed they didn't understand they were going home if they lost.

3 games, 3 early goals for the favorites. the better group winner (after all 8 win) continues to advance.

I really couldn't have been more wrong with this round. I'm quite surprised both Germany and especially Argentina ended 1-0 after such early goals. I do like the Dutch, which may be a good sign for Tico supporters.
