A jury has awarded Erin Andrews $55 million as a result of her lawsuit against a Nashville Marriott and a man who took and posted a video of her.
Andrews was asking for $75 million in her civil suit vs. West End Hotel Partners, which operates the Marriott at Vanderbilt, and Michael David Barrett, who tampered with her hotel room's peephole to record a video of her while she was in her hotel room. Barrett then posted the video online in 2009.
The jury found Barrett 51-percent responsible and the hotel to be 49-percent responsible, meaning Barrett is on the hook for approximately $28 million in damages while the hotel is ordered to pay $26 million.
Barrett was sentenced to 2½ years in prison after he was found guilty of stalking Andrews in the events surrounding the incident. Barrett had reserved the room next to Andrews' and said he found her room through a directory within the house phone at the hotel. He explained his practices in a video played last week during the trial.<strike></strike>

We live in a f**ked up world when a person can win $55 million for having hurt feelings over someone taking pictures of her nude body.....i can see if she was fat & ugly, but this is ridiculous. These lawsuits are out of hand......like mentioned above, people are hurt physically, raped, lose body parts & never get close to what she received.
People get wrongfully accused for murder, spend 25 years & jail & don't get what she did......even if she got double fisted by this guy, she doesn't deserve $55 million.......

Erin is a disgrace and the jury who rubber stamped this frivolous bullshit is even worse. Her courtroom theatrics were WAY over the top, but for a Powerball jackpot of 75m, anyone (rich or poor) would have done the same thing.

Andrews is 37, unmarried, and has no children. Yet she’s on the stand crying about her theoretical children being teased about “mommy is naked on the Internet” by kids who have not yet been born. And this is apparently persuasive.

Anyway, the guy who did this is responsible for 51% of the judgment and since he’ll never pay she gets $27 million from the hotel. After the legal fees she will collect roughly $21 million.
Imagine 10 years from now it comes out that her dad orchestrated all of this…

Do you numbskulks understand the difference between giving consent and not giving consent?
