Just cause we have a black President it still doesn't excuse individuals from being racist. I am pretty sure all of those racist cops aren't just going to wake up tomorrow morning and realize that not all blacks are criminals simply because the President is now a brotha.

Personally I think by having a black President it actually gives white people in a position of power to deny blacks more (especially the ones that voted for Obama). They will think that they can't possibly have a racist or stereotypical bone in their body or else they would have voted for McCain. Besides there is not one non black person here who wouldn't have second thoughts about their daughter bringing home a black men. Black people can f uck up a family gene pool.

Yes I am a black individual and I will admit it I have used the race card on more then one occasion. But deep down inside I do know your life is pretty much what you make of it and this country is full of wonderful opportunities and endless second chances. However one thing I will say is trying to rent a house as a 25-35 year old single black male is nearly impossible.

Well Gee Wizzz.

You act as if white people are the only people in the world that have race issues.

White people face race issues just as much as blacks.

The point was that if a black person wants to make something of there life its right there for them.

They dont need a handout.
Obama earned it the old fashioned way. He worked for it.

He would make a great role model for all the minorities that act as if the deck is stacked against them all the time.

This thread turned into something that I did not want it to turn into.

All I wanted to say was good luck Obama.
Big victory for the black movement.
I hope this ends the thoughts that blacks have the decks stacked against them all the time and that they can do whatever they want in life. That the American Dream is for everyone, and not just white people.

But judging by this thread, I guess that was just a fairy tale.

Oh Well.

i agree with this guy. i can see normally racist whites being even more racisit now out of bitterness and trying to hold blacks/minorities down even more. having said all that, i do believe this is a step in the right directions. america is full of mixed races, that's never going to change. everyone's just going to have to get along for the country to prosper.

Accurate statement.

Racism is the stupidest problem we have in America. There are so many problems that face people on a daily basis that can not be corrected overnight, but racism is one issue that would benefit everyone if it disappeared.

I have seen people on this board post about how their child has cancer or lost a family member due to illness, those are things that we can not really control, but racism is an issue that can be controlled.

It is really said that people are this way.

Obama was selected...Blacks had nothing to do with it...Race will always be an issue...but it isn't the only issue when it comes to discrimination...There's Religion, Class, Appearance, gender, etc etc...

Blacks doing 10 years for possession...cuz the state property is big business...and White Child Molesters out in 4....nice try CHOP

Racism will never go away. It's ridiculous, but it's the truth.

The point is, if a black person with the name Hussian Obama can have the highest job in all the land, this removes all excuses that a black person does not have the same level playing field that anyone else has.

I wish Obama would say that in his speach tonight, but he probably wont.

PRAISE JESUS!!!!!

He did say it! I am impressed. Its the first thing he said. My respect for him just went up. He just said exactly what I said in this thread.

You know there are bottom-feeders in every race. For every poor, lazy, black criminal in the world there is also the same amount of poor, lazy, mexican criminals and poor, lazy white criminal. I just think that the black ones get called out more on it. Poor blacks get villanized more for being heavy crack and heroine users which lead to a life of crime. While poor whites that are meth and alcohol abusers don't get criticized on the same level.

I just hope that now that Obama is president some of the urban community use this as a wake up call and try to strive for something more in life then a free welfare check and public housing. I would love to see more black kids strive for academics over athletics.

I am sure that many, many Obama supporters would not have backed McCain had he won.

I voted for McCain but the election is over, my candidate lost, and I wish the best to our new President and hope that everything goes well. In a democratic society you have to honor the will of the people.

Too bad our founding fathers actually created our society as a Republic and not a Democracy...they very well knew the difference and tried their best to avoid a Democracy. I'm sure they would be less than pleased with what is happening...not just in this current election, but over the past decades. Obama sounds much more like he subscribes to the theory of a true democracy rather than socialism, which he is routinely accused of.

"A Republic is representative government ruled by law (the Constitution). A democracy is direct government ruled by the majority (mob rule). A Republic recognizes the inalienable rights of individuals while democracies are only concerned with group wants or needs (the public good)."

"
Democracies always self-destruct when the non-productive majority realizes that it can vote itself handouts from the productive minority by electing the candidate promising the most benefits from the public treasury. To maintain their power, these candidates must adopt an ever-increasing tax and spend policy to satisfy the ever-increasing desires of the majority. As taxes increase, incentive to produce decreases, causing many of the once productive to drop out and join the non-productive"

chop this is such an ignorant post.

its equivalent to asking 1 black person what their opinion is of something and then generalizing it to the whole race.

this is a sign of change. it is not the change, as though it is 1 moment in history.
