In all fairness, we must recognize that this wonderful place for free exchange of ideas costs money to maintain and run.
Either the users pay a fee to be here, or we let the sportsbooks and sports services run their ads which pay the bills.
It's a fine line because where there are ads there are lies and exaggerations. I guess the happy middle ground is to make sure the companies that advertise here are reputable ones and the service they provide measure up to high standards in terms of ethics and fairness.
I personally welcome ads and promos (even in the form of threads on the forum) from solid sportsbooks which offer a fair deal and pay on time. I don't welcome ads from Don Best because I do not believe in the product they offer. Of course that's just me.
In the case of non-advertisers I agree that their promotions should be limited to the promotion forum, but to make a post here (without a url) giving a link to the promo forum (in which there may be a url) should be accepted. Reposting by the Shrink was a nice gesture, but beyond the call of duty IMO. Wil had already done the right thing and left a link here to the promo forum.
