over ther course of Tiger's career, Tiger hasn't had Arnie, Trevino, Watson, Player, Ballesteros, and Norman to deal with....

Yea, you are right, he hasn't had those guys to compete against, he has had a hell of a lot more guys to compete against that are not using back yard grown swings to compete.....golf is global now, it used to not be nearly as much. The game, like everything else in the world has evolved.....more people play, the competition is better and the field are stronger. Either way tiger has won 94 time (and counting) against the best competition and most players playing in the world....that's pretty fucking good for a guy that lost his swing and his putting stroke!

Tiger has shown glimpses of greatness in the last couple of months. I know he got smoked in some of his early matches in the Preseident's Cup. But came back and pretty much dominated in his single match. And he had a third place finish in the Australian Open before winning his own tournament in Florida. It may not have been a great win, but it had to be a big confidence booster that he knows he's back on the right track. Unlike what many seem to think, Tiger's game isn't going to come together all at once. There will be weeks his long game sucks but his short game is working, and vice versa. Whether he can put it all together and win some of these bigger tournaments is all speculation. But given that he's over his injuries for now, which was my biggest concern, I would be afraid to bet against him. Especially on the courses that he has an eye for.

I'm not knocking on Stricker, but you are aware Steves game sucked in Australia correct? Tiger didn't play his best ever golf in presidents cup, but he didn't hurt the duo.......he won his own tourn in California, not Florida. 11 consecutive round of solid golf haven't convinced you yet? Shit, what am I missing? Nobody besides Rory is even on the same atmosphere as tiger when it comes to playing golf, when they are playing well. I mean shit, I have eyes and realize when rory is on, he just might be better than tiger woods. But you know what, rory has been a pro for what, 4 years now and he has won 5 tourn including the weak euro tourn he has won? No other golfer alive and currently playing belongs in the same sentance as tiger woods as of now. Prove me wrong if you think other wise

Rodgers is on a pace to win more SB's then Montana, does that make him the best of all time ?

Football is a team sport....golf is an idividual sport...there is nothing to compare between tiger, rodgers, and montana

yea all of those global guys still are not Norman, Ballesteros, Player, and forgot to mention Faldo.. If you think the last 15 years of golfers are better then the HOF's I mentioned with inferior equipment, you must be high bro......

Who is to say they are or are not as good as they are today? Especially ppl that also talk about how good the"young guys" of today are supposedly. Those guys back then may have been great, but they were great against a hell of a lot less competitiors than there are today! And your high if you think otherwise

If you honestly think the foreign players during the Nicklaus era are better than the foreign players today, you are the one who must be high. Just take a look at the World rankings right now. 7 of the top 10 including the top 4 are all foreign players.Yes, there was a few top notch foreigners back then, but not even close to the quantity of top foreign talent nowadays...

You obviously don't know enough about golf to make that statement. Nicklaus has 18 majors, Tiger 14.. Nicklaus has alot more 2nd and 3rd place major finishes too.. Nicklaus had alot more success in Ryder cup... Nicklaus also had more HOF's to deal with..

Nicklaus has also said many times that Tiger is the best he has ever seen....as far as popularity goes, I still consider Arnold Palmer the best....he put golf on the map and on television...

The number one and two ranked players in the world are Europeans, but they have a total of zero Majors between them....

last couple of years talent pool has increased.. That being said these newbies weren't around when Tiger was dominating... just saying.. an occasional Ernie showing and Mickelson isn't quite alot of competition IMO

Tiger just kept everybody down back then....nobody could touch him...

You will never see another golfer as dominant as Tiger was....he kept a lot of other guys out of the winners circle...Byron Nelson won something like 11 straight tournaments; only guy to come close to that was Tiger...

You won't ever see me say a bad word about Jack...he was great....but Tiger raised the bar....and I could care less about his private life....Jack and Arnold were not exactly choir boys....

I will remember this statement the next time you start another thread concerning Tiger's place in the world rankings. Apparently his is the only one that matters to you...

Didn't start this thread ! I think you have it wrong again, Tiger is the only one that matters to others here, not me
