What are you talking about? In a sport like golf, having a deep field matters immensely. There is a lot of parity in golf as is; when you add so many good golfers to the mix, it makes it a lot more difficult to place consistently high. Golf has many, many more guys now who are consistently a threat to win any given major than was the case in Jack's era. That's not debatable.

wrong - its pretty well known when u have millions of kids around the world wanting to be like Tiger and practicing 24 hours days 8 days a week that the field gets weaker - everyone knows the most competitive field consists orf two foreign players and the local boys from the county club

He recently stated ; 'i was afraid of not winning' face)(*^%, Jack would love to be paired with this kind of guy at the final round of a major!! haha!! Let's recall Rory at the 2011 Masters. Dont waste your time with these guys Ric, they don’t understand the game as well as you and I do. Trying to compare guys like Rory and DJ to Nicklaus lol. They just don’t get it. I always enjoy reading your posts about golf. It’s obvious you know about the game.

Tiger's competition were a bunch of chokers, (Mickelson, Els) Jack didn't have this luxury as is evident in his 19 second place finishes. If his competition choked as often as Tiger's he would have over 20 majors.

The scores of highly skilled (exempt) golfers are nearly one stroke higher when playing against Woods.
