Not really. I don't believe in God, but I don'd disbelieve in him. I would not make an argument that he does not exist.
It's not like leprachauns at the end of the rainbow. I DESBELIEVE in that, i.e., I would make an argument that leprachauns definitely do not exist.
That is not how I view the existence of God.

Here is my bottom line:
I don't know if he exists or not. I have no idea what happens to you after you die. And anyone who pretends they do, is foolish. Anyone who will tell you with a straight face that they know, FOR A FACT, what happens to you after you die, is... well, lets just say I don't understand how you could do that.

Sorry if that offends anyone.

HC, if Steve Bartman isn't proof god does'nt exist, I don't know what is.

What is a logical explanation for him?

Yes.
You will face judgement whether you believe or not.

The consequence of not believing:

No explanation needed. Prior and the Cubs had a meltdown, he pitched poorly the rest of that inning, and they blew Game 7 on top of that.

Stop blaming Bartman, Funk.

The existence of god has nothing to do with the Cubs sucking. Still waiting on an answer to my hypothetical above from a christian or some other religious person.

Let me throw this example out there to see what kind of responses it gets:

Say you're an eskimo living in the most isolated part of Antarctica. The only people you ever see or communicate with for your entire life is your small eskimo community. The community doesn't believe in Christianity or god, and no missionary has ever visited this area. You've literally never heard of god or been taught anything about christianity or any other religion. You worship nature or some crap, something other than god, or maybe ntohing at all(it's irrelevant). So you've literally never had the chance to convert, nor a reason why you should believe in god.

When you die, if god exists, is he going to punish you for not believing in him? DOesn't catholicism dictate that the eskimos in this situation WILL NOT be allowed in heaven?

Not here or able to judge anyone, but I think the person here would be ok.
I do know the Bible says it is better to never have known the word, than to have known and not believed.
No one will ever have these answers, nor should they.
This is a fallen world.

I don't believe in God.

I live a pretty good moral life, but I guess I'm gonna burn in Hell.

This pretty much sums up my feelings exactly.

I really HOPE there's a god...but I can't say I BELIEVE. Big difference, IMO.

Skins, i am no expert on the bible, and i have no real undisputable answer for you. Thats why they call it faith, look at it from this perspective, can you or anyone else explain all of this. No, they cant, there has only been one being that walked on this earth documented, that healed the sick, reserected the dead, walked on water, turned water to wine. DOCUMENTED, then if that wasnt enough, he was slain, dead, and came back from death. Name me anyone else in history that did that, anyone, Buddah, Allaha. Its faith, you have to have it and accept the one gift that God gave us all, his son. Thats it, just accept the free pass and you will then be accepted to his kingdom. That simple acceptance gets you, me and anyone else home. Thats all i gotta say, i dont pass judgement on anyone, never have in this areana never will. I hope you find the way buddy, i really do

The first question is whether there is a God or not. Then does God interfere with normal daily life. If there is a God, is he a really good God or is he a bad God. If God does exsit, and he is good, would he give you little proof of his existence and no direct proof, and then when you dont believe because he gave you a mind to think with, cast you off to hell to suffer. If he does interfere with people's lives, why does he save some and not others? Why does he create a world with so much pain and suffering?

You cant prove either way whether there is a God or not. No one can do it no matter what has happened in someone's life (i.e. people seeing the Virgin Mary on a building, people seeing the light, people talking to God or Jesus, or dead Uncle Ed). Shit happens in life. People die, people come close to dying, people survive despite the odds, people don't survive. Thats just the shit that happens everyday.

My opinion is we can sit and stew over this every night but there is no way of knowing. If he does exist, I do not believe he interferes with our lives. Although I may believe he does now because I layed some heavy juice on Boston and they just walked a runner in against a girls team. I guess some people do the smart thing and hedge their bet. If God does not exist there is no harm in believing. If he does, and you believe, there may be rewards for you. I can see that aspect. If God exists and he is a good God, I could not see why God would punish people for having doubts or even not believing.

I think people are weak and need to believe in something. Most people cant handle the possibility of this being the end for all of us. That when you die, thats it. I can handle it. Its depressing yes, but if that's the end, that's the end. You live your life, have fun, and do the best you can do. It would be nice to have a loving God that when life is over, you can be reunited with your family, and dog, and everyone else you love. That would be ideal or if you are Muslim have 89 virgins.

Whenever someone asks this I think of Dante Alighieri's explanation in The Inferno. He explained that the people living before the time of Jesus went to a place just outside of Hell where nothing bad really happened and it was just a boring place.

Whoa, whoa there. Documented? By his loyal subjects, who have been found to exaggerate things in other areas of their lives. The truth is Christianity is a stolen religion. We stole the tenets of Christianity from Judaism, Zoroastrianism, the Epic of Gilgamesh, etc. Those are the facts. Besides, look at all the shiat that the Catholic Church has covered up, exaggerated, etc. The Catholic Church for two millenia has lied, cheated, and done many many many horrible things in the name of God. The Crusades, the Inquisition, indulgences, smuggling Nazis out of Europe, the list goes on and on and on. However, I do believe God is real, I just believe that organized religion is very wicked and evil.

The Bible may be the greatest fairy tale ever written. We cant believe what we see on the news, on TV, and in newspapers today. People cant get stories right today but over 2000 years ago they got all their shit straight?
People today that claim they are God or Jesus, we know have mental illness. There are thousands upon thousands of them. Did they know that over 2000 years ago? Of course not.
People believe in the craziest things, the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, UFOs, ghosts, and Noah's Ark. Holy Crap.
