Do we all agree USC is the best now?

Wake me up when any team in the Pac-10 not named USC could finish higher than 5th in a pool of teams: Florida, Georgia, LSU, Alabama, Auburn, Tenn, South Carolina

Washington, WSU, UCLA, Stanford, Arizona, Oregon State might as well be listed as BYE on USC's schedule. The next big game ASU or Cal wins will be the first I can remember. Oregon still thinks it's cool to rush the field when beating lower ranked teams like ASU on their path to getting waxed in the Holiday Bowl

I wish more of the SEC teams you mentioned agree to do a home/home with Oregon, ASU, Cal...any of them besides UT which already proved they are 50-50 vs that group you mentioned.

That would at least give you some support behind your thinking. I assume you know that Cal has already done their part to disprove it.

I'm not talking about a home and home series the first game of a yr. Im talking about being in a league of heavyweights that knock your teeth in every week. No Pac-10 team other than USC would finish higher than 6th in the SEC

You SEC homers are Funny i don't know why people with any sense try to talk to you about it because you guys are watching to much ESPN about them suckin the SEC's dick. All these bowl games SEC wins are in their back yards with 80 degree temps and a bunch of little black guys running around the field. Thats what the SEC is and has been thats why before this spread garbage started the Big Ten was dominant this is just a faze and the big ten will be back on top within a couple years

No matter what...any forum conversation that involves sec/pac10 someone has to bring in the usc/auburn argument..and most of the time its inaccuate information such as usc trounced auburn at auburn then they got scared and cancelled the following game the next year with a huge buyout.....you mentioned that Auburn was the best the SEC had at that time...i am assuming you are talking about the 2002 and 2003 seasons where usc won vs au. in 2002 auburn was 8-4 regular season..by far an average sec team that year. in 2003 tubbs promoted his offensive line coach to offensive coordinator which was the worst mistake he has made as a coach. that year, 2003 auburn was 7-5. this was a subpar season....and as for pac10/usc fans thumping their chests in 2008 for a shutout that happened 5 years ago..the following week lowly ga tech had auburn shutout for the better part of the game and tech won 17-3 so at the time it was not that great of an accomplishment.....now if you are talking about the best the sec had at the time in 2004 then yes it was auburn but usc didnt play au that year as their 13-0 record indicates because if they did it would have been 12-1..right?

For what they did to Auburn, if it came down to picking them or USC, the Trojans deserve a 5-year pass over the Tigers just for what they did to them. (The best the SEC had at the time too.)

Did you really just say that florida doesnt have the talent ohio st does??? Really????
That is probably the dumbest statment i have seen in the NCAAF forum

Where is Florida better than Ohio St? I'd really be interested to know. Don't bring up the past two NC games because those are different teams. Ohio St has the #1 RB in the country, the #1 OL in the country, the #1 prospect in the country, and arguably the #1 defense in the country. The only defense I would argue is better is USC's. USC and Ohio St can make an All American team just by themselves. Florida is worse every where on the field than Ohio St other than QB, and WR/TE.

Why do you think ESPN sucks their dick? The guys who work with ESPN are some of the more knowledgeable sports fans in the country, which to me means they think the SEC owns all other conferences and that is the bottom line. Results are what matters and the SEC dominates the Big ten-always has and always will-besides ohio st no other team in the big 10 would even have a winning conference record in the SEC-and ohio st would struggle every year with the likes of lsu florida etc.

Using the argument of any team playing in another conference is almost as bad as idly daydreaming about some bitch you want to fuck who's married to a movie star. Worthless fatheaded braggery that is impossible to prove -- it ain't ever gonna happen.

At least there's still the 2nd best way to rate teams and conferences which is their head to head competition. This decade or since 2001 (something like that,) I believe the Pac-10 is 9-5 vs the SEC. Don't use USC as an example either because if you take them out (and take out LSU to be fair), the Pac-10 is still 5-2 vs the SEC. Don't tell me about the crowds either because the Big-10's top schools outdraw everyone else. Only Neyland stadium and Tennessee could compete with the top B-10 schools in attendance. I just get so sick of all the hype when it's based on lie after 1/2 truth... etc etc. Damn you SEC guys can really blow the smoke up people's asses. Why do you do that? How full of yourself can anyone get?

I was liking this debate until you start making personal insults instead of talking about the topic at hand

I don't know where Missouri comes in this discussion but I would not discount them due to points given up to Illini as this is a bigtime rival of Mizzou's. Mizzou got a quality victory first time out of the box and most teams improve most between weeks 1 and 2. Like to hear others thoughts.

I agree with you here-their offense may be the best in the country

Anyone with any eye for talent can see Sanchez is the best usc qb since Pete Bethard. I wish they had some socal wrs instead of these 6'5 country boys who cant run routes or catch.

Mulaga would be in Daniels jock all day if they played. This Trojan team is better than 05 team becasue of the defense. Sanchez would not have lost to Texas, Stanford, or UCLA.

I really don't know that VOR. I know that there's a certain amount of sleazy people around most CFB programs that occasionally get their dirty mitts into kids lives but I see no reason why the coaches or administration of ANY big school would consider there's an advantage to it. This goes on, no doubt but it's extremely overblown when so many of a school's athletes are made the victims of inuendo. That's not fair to them.

And it's not just that either. I remember last year everyone declared one of the UCLA players to be a criminal gangsta when he was arrested for burglary based on nosy neighbor's tip. Turns out he was helping his friend get his stuff out of his own cousin's house. Or the UCLA coach who was arrested and then completely cleared of all charges. The vultures start circling at the first smell of anything resembling death.

VOR, what's your opinion of the way the many top SEC programs cushy up their schedules with non-conference nobodies and 5 or 6 meaningless conference opponents every year? (just to justify their having to play 3 or 4 tough games vs the "elite" -- who's schedules are no different from thier own.) The way they set their schedules, all they need to do is win 1/2 of those big SEC games and they wind up 10-2, ranked and an asset to each other's SOS.

Cool kind of setup don't you think?

This is the typical leftist type of mentality that our country has fully embraced. In comparing the Pac-1 to the SEC its like comparing Georgia to Russia. If you take a look at Georgia's, LSU, Alabama's, Auburn, etc. schedule you would cringe if you were their HBC. OK so while USC plays Ohio St. and well nobody else on their schedule Georgia has to play a handful (or more) of legit Top 25 teams annually. If that is cool then you probably think sleeping in a rain forest with no tent is cool.

Before I move on to greener pastures, I hope to see the day when the NCAA has a championship playoff structure in place for a real National Championship....

Amen

4 or 8 teams? That's the question. I prefer four simply to continue making regular season extremely relevant.
