No I have that one. That's the "Ric Flair" belt. The NWA World TV championship is silver and red. I saw one that was just a replica and they wanted $1500. I'm like no way.

The WWE didn't run the garden for close to 2 years due to differences between them and MSG management. That ended a couple of months ago. I think it sold out or did a near sell out since it was a TV taping. A non TV MSG show hasn't happen in along time but they weren't selling it out a couple of years ago. (Good crowds but no sellouts)

Thanks dmmd..speaking of the garden they just showed a garden flashback of Snuka coming off the top of the steel cage onto muraco that was a classic.

Working the main event in a monthly Garden show used to be the big time before wrestlemania and all the other ppv

I'm a little surprised they let the Boogieman go so quickly...he must have had a really short term pact, I would be curious to read more about a guy like him who comes along and appears to be a future star but then is basically canned...Any idea how a contract like that works?

I really thought he was going to be pushed, he basically never was even tested from the matches I saw....only the Booker T fued. What was his injury? I guess maybe some of these guys just aren't cut out for it and they give up.

How much do these belts sell for in a reasonable market? Reading $1500 makes me shake my head that people are spending that kind of coin on those.

Those MSG shows were the best..USA would carry them once every couple months in the early 80's they were the best free wrestling shows by far.

That is a damn shame...just another in a long line ...hope he makes it....meanwhile Vince gets more wealthy by the second, Angle was one of the better wrestlers he ever had.

Angle teased like he was going to compete in MMA and was apparently negotiating with PRIDE and UFC. Obviously at his age and in his physical state he has no business in MMA, so I'm thinking that was just a ruse to get more caysh out of TNA. Had Angle decided to compete in MMA a decade ago he could have done well IMO--he was a legit amateur wrestling legend and a lot of guys with that background (Matt Hughes, Dan Severn) have done very well in the sport. As an amateur, Angle was head and shoulders better than either of those guys...

A good belt sells for around 500-600 a semi good looking belt (would still do just fine) around 300.

As an outsider to this world, who is manufacturing these belts? The wrestling companies or some freelancer?

I haven't watched wrestling since the old ECW closed shop in Philly. Heard it was coming back, watched the new WWE version of it and it wasn't anywhere near the same. YouTube definitely has some great old ECW out there.

yeah but we didn't really see much of him , and maybe that was why...but then again the Ultimate Warrior was pretty brutal in the ring as well and he was one of the very elite at the time.

I am really sorry to hear about Angle though, he was clearly one of the most talented.

Jman did you used to watch the Monday show with Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan where they showed matches from the garden.

That was great stuff and the Heenan and Monsoon team was so entertaining and funny

If you *were* the son of the great Gordon Solie I'd worship the ground you walk on. Solie was by far the best wrestling announcer in history. Look on YouTube sometime and you'll find a video of someone in the old Continental territory wrestling a bear (I think it was "Wildcat" Wendall Cooley). That's a real live bear. Gordon sells his a*s off trying to make the thing believable and legit....

You can get a great replica for $500-$600 even cheaper but not as great of quality. I plan on displaying them in cases for my sportsroom in my future basement one day.

Most wrestlers have a downside guarantee some as small as 75k then get a % of the house, there merchandise, PPV's basically everything that has to do with there likeness. Most of the newer wrestlers have a contract where if the WWE finds cause they can fire you and pay you for 90 days then you are on your way at any time.

:toast: Here here. I wholeheartedly agree. I miss hearing his voice and was looking at some Youtube clips last weeks with him in it.
