"Trailing 24-20, Brady was stopped by the stout Ravens defence on fourth-and-one on a quarterback sneak at the New England 30, but earned a reprieve because Baltimore called a timeout moments before the snap.
Heath Evans was halted short of a first down on the next play, but the Patriots were penalized for a false start, providing a third opportunity to convert — which Brady did on a scramble.
The Patriots later faced fourth-and-15 from the Baltimore 13, but Ravens cornerback Jamaine Winborne was caught holding tight end Benjamin Watson."

There are plenty of single moments that made the difference between a perfect run and the champagne being poured by the old Dolphins.

NOt for nothing , Pat Patriot is taking all comers, He's not ducking anyone. Very commendable on his behalf.

I agree with this and Pat has taken on all comers but its laughable that its commendable. Shoot whats his (or any other Pats fan) choice?? Change his/her posting handle? Blame the refs? This isnt the 1st time someone was extra confident about their team and they came up short in the process and it wont be the last.

The G-Men were the better team that day and they got the 'ship and messed up the Pats perfect season.

Come on Pats haters, you guys got what you wanted.

Jints fans are concerned about shoring up their free agents, draft picks and hoping that Snyder effs up the Spags hire (or Spags comes to his senses).

Pats are concerned about the same thing except for another team hiring coaches.

People need to care about what their team is doing. The Ticker Tapes have been cleaned up on the streets of Manhattan already. This story is dead.

Let it stay dead.

Yup. You need to have all the breaks go your way.
Its like have a lottery ticket and reading all the numbers and getting to the last one and its off by one number....almost a multi millionaire but the reality it is only almost.Disappointing but its still fun to read the ticket.

Good post KT.

Pat Patriot do you remember the 85 Super Bowl Pats vs Bears? I dont remember it I was too young. Can you fill me in?

I need to transfer my VHS to DVD now. That game was unbelievable. Pats had -18 yards in the 1st half.

They got their ass kicked by a superior team.Steve Grogan should have started over Tony Eason. There were a handfull of plays in like the first 5-10 minutes of the game that might have made the game closer.Pats failed to make some plays and capitilise on some early Bears miscues. It could have been 10-0, 14-0 early if the Pats didn't blow some early breaks they got.

the only thing that may have affected anything was number 2

1 3 and 5 are just flat out stupid

4 isnt really relevant- they had 2 weeks off before the superbowl, a first round bye and nobody got hurt at the end of the reg season

Belliececks by far the best coach in the league, and great he finally made a mistake with the Patriots after 6 or 7 years.

Biggest mystery to me is the deep ball after deep ball with all 3 time outs at the end.

They only have to get in range for a FG!

Fire away. i need some batting practice.
It must really must suck to be you rooting for SeaSucks in the NIT, every year....you're not even in the conversation..lmfao.

We make the playoffs every year and win a game. That's more than 20+ other teams can say. Plenty of other teams you can waste your time thinking about.

Oh, and we didn't blow the biggest game in NFL history. But you did. Congratulations on that accomplishment.

Boston fans accept defeat. Giants beat us. DONE.

When your team (Seattle) lost in the Soup Bowl, you went crying home to mommy and complained about the refs, and the side judge and the back judge ... and your fat coach kept crying about it too.

... and you tell Boston fans to take it like a man???

Um, NFL fans that were polled agreed that game was poorly officiated, well over 50%. Then again, well over 50% of NFL fans wanted to see Billy boy and the the classless clowns lose. Guess what? THEY DID.

18-1. Live it, love it.

a couple points from my POV

#1) not the biggest choke ever, it was a BIG one but not the biggest...this was 1 game the nyy had 4 chances to win

#2) it was IMO the biggest game in boston history aside from the redsox WS in 04'

#3) had they won they would have been the best team in this country professional sports history,

#4) id trade all 3 sb's and the 07' redsox ws trophy for a win on sunday....19-0 was the record to end all records, i still dont care what anyone else says....they had a shot to do something no one else has ever done in sports and they didnt get it done....im still in disbelief, i wanted that win more than anything....

sports aside from real life such as deaths/family/friends/sickness' etc bc we all know on a bigger scale they take preference over sports...but speaking squarely from a sports POV, this loss took something out of me, i know i will probably never see a team have another shot at going thru a regular season and playoffs undefeated and it was my team that had the shot....i dont even care about next season....

oh....congrats to the giants for beating us...

its irrelevant but i still believe if they played 10times the pats would win 8of 10 and to this day i still feel the same way about our 1st sb win vs stl....8of10 stl wins that game....its neither here nor there now bc 19-0 is never gonna be seen again in my lifetime....

If the NFL stays as it is with shitty QB's, you will see it again...A ton of bad teams playing nowadays...:drink:

I lived it ... and I loved it

... but you wouldn't know what it feels like to go 4 months without losing.

I also wouldn't know what it's like to lose the final game of an epic season against an above average NFC team.

Again, nice chokejob.

Of course not ... We LOST ... you got ROBBED, right?

Did your mommy give you extra candy after Pittsburgh "robbed" you and you went crying around the house throwing hissy-fits? ... or did she tell you to take it like a man?

... and did you say EPIC SEASON? THANKS.

It was kinda funny when Brady sounded insulted when Burress predicted the Patsies would only score 17 points in the game.

Maybe they should rescind those Pro Bowl invites to the Patsies O lineman and give them to the Giants D lineman.
