Good god Barman, WTF is wrong with this place in the last two days? I remember that Jay Bruce thread and I think I spit my soda on the keyboard after I read it.

I mean, the guy has no kick returns for TD's last year at all but he returns one in preseason for 50 yards and all the sudden he's the greatest thing since sliced bread.
the guy's record he broke ahd 13 in 13 yrs. hester has 14 in just 5 yrs....you gotta admit that is amazing...he will get into the hof without a doubt....imo...

"ESPN’s Matt Millen declared after the game that Hester could get another 14 in the next five years, which could be a bit of a stretch."
Who da hell would put anything Matt Millen says in their article. Now he'll max out with one or two more.

that's what i was thinking...lmao...what the hell is he even doing on tv? don't they realize that NOBODY WHO WATCHES FB LISTENS to anything this idiot has to say....nothing....##)

You're saying Hester is in the HOF without a doubt? How sure of that are you?

So let me understand your argument. He has returned more kicks than anyone in NFL history so he should be in the HOF? He doesn't play defense, he doesn't kick FG's and sucks on offense but he's a sure-fire HOF inductee? Richard Dent has more than 130 sacks in the NFL, he changed the offensive mind set on each play he was on the field but Devin Hester should be in and he should not?

Again, why isn't Steve Tasker in the HOF? This is just a dumb argument.
he was never trying to 'start' an argument, imo, it seemed like you were, to be wuite honest. he was just giving his opinion and you and a few other's take it out of context and freak out and get all pissed off. it was just his opinion....

You won't argue another player getting into the hall with me but the basis of your argument is Hester is the best at his craft so he should be in the HOF. If Tasker is the best at his craft then why isn't he in the HOF? Seems logical right? Seems like if your argument is logical then Tasker or Ray Guy should be in the HOF right?

My ass to everybody? You have one guy in this entire thread that agrees with you. The rest know that you saw Hester score a TD, got your panties all wet and made a dumb thread about it.

He's giving his opinion and the rest of us gave ours. Nobody is freaking out or pissed off over anything.

I think I'd call Frank Reich the greatest backup QB in NFL history. Led his team to the greatest comback ever and had a few quality wins in the NFL. HOF material for sure. Best at his craft.

Actually what you said was (in the thread title) that Hester is already a HOF player in your book. That's what you said.

More than one person agrees with him. He is the best kick returner of his era. To me and plenty of others that is hall of fame worthy. Backup QB is a totally different thing because that is not a position. Hester returns kicks every game while back-up qbs almost never play. Their is one position-QB, not 3 different ones-1st string, 2nd string, 3rd string. You just tried to twist the argument.

Yeah, two people, you and him. His argument is that if he's the best at his position then he's HOF worthy. Therefore with that logic a punter or holder or backup QB should be in. Also, do you consider him a better returner than Deion Sanders even if Hester has scored more TD's?

More people agree. Just look thru the other responses. A backup qb is not a position like a kick returner. I explained that to you, if you ask Matt Flynn or Jim Sorgi what position they play-they say quarterback-not back up quarter back. My argument is that his play as a kick returner, if it continues, warrants the hall of fame. He gives a TD threat every punt and changes field position and game strategies like no other kick returner in history. Depends on yards per return and TDs to be a better returner. I am not saying he gets in because their are no other good kick returners, i am saying he deserves to get in because of how good a kick returner he is.

So why isn't Steve Tasker in the HOF? He is the greatest special teams player in NFL history. Deion Sanders changed the field and was a threat each time he touched the ball. Maybe he was a little before your time?

Hester sets record for punt return touchdowns

By Bob LeGere
Devin Hester officially became the most prolific punt-returner in NFL history, when he went 69 yards for a touchdown early in the second quarter.
It was Hester’s 11th punt-return touchdown, which gave him sole possession of the NFL record, breaking his tie with Eric Metcalf. Metcalf got his 10 touchdowns on 351 returns; Hester’s 11 scores have come on just 182 opportunities. It was Hester’s 15th kick-return touchdown, including punt and kickoff returns, but he already held that record.
“To be labeled as the greatest person at a position is a great honor,” Hester said. “I have to give credit to my teammates.”
Hester is nothing if not efficient. Prior to the game’s final play, when he scooped up a bouncing, pooched kickoff and eventually fell down in bounds so time would expire in the Bears’ 34-29 victory, he touched the ball twice.
The first time, he fielded a kickoff 9 yards deep in the end zone and returned it 73 yards to set up the Bears’ second touchdown. His second touch was the punt-return TD that came three minutes and five seconds later. That’s how long it took Hester to whip into a frenzy the 59,546 fans who turned out at Soldier Field on a perfect day for football, and to turn the tide of the game by giving the Bears a 24-10 lead.
“He’s fun to watch,” quarterback Jay Cutler said. “The guy is so electric. As soon as he touches the ball, you know something’s going to happen. I’m glad he’s on our squad.”
With the new rule moving kickoffs up to the 35-yard line, most opponents can avoid the Hester threat by kicking the ball out of the end zone, and it’s almost a shock when they allow him to field a punt.
“I’m just glad they continue to,” Bears coach Lovie Smith said. “He’s a weapon. Devin hadn’t had a lot of big returns so far, so I can see why teams have chosen to kick the ball to him. They may think twice now.”
On his record-setting return, Hester fielded a line drive, took two hard steps to the right, cut back to the left, broke an arm tackle by linebacker Thomas Williams, outran everyone else and somersaulted three times in the end zone to celebrate.
“You could tell the punter (Jason Baker) had a bad hit on the ball,” Hester said. “He didn’t get much air time on it. Whenever I get a kick like that I’ve got an opportunity to pretty much freeze the defense. Guys, when they’re being blocked, see the first reaction of the returner and they go off the first move. I just want to draw everybody to the right side and hopefully get it back to the left.”
This time it worked to perfection.
“It’s amazing to watch him,” said running back Matt Forte, who was fairly amazing himself with 205 rushing yards. “He adds a whole other dimension to our team. When you’re in a tight game and you get a score from special teams, it gives you emotion.”
No return man in NFL history has ever supplied more emotion than Hester.
