Could Browns trade for DeShaun Watson be the worst in NFL history?

It seemed like a pretty bad trade on the surface for the Browns with all that guaranteed dough, but now it’s looking doubtful Watson even plays a game this season

So then he’ll come back after not playing a snap for 2.5 years?

It’s gotta be at least in convo as worst trade ever, right?

Browns are -2.5 vs Carolina in week one. Lots of value there as Baker will have something to prove if he plays and overall...Cleveland has a very good roster even if Mayfield has to play.

Nothing will beat Herschel Walker

I don’t know about that
The Browns actually gave up more for Watson then Minn did for walker .

This has real potential to be the worst trade in sports history .

Watson missing just 2022 is the best case scenario not the worst case

And I thought J Winston was the best pick for comeback player of the year before all this Watson stuff blew up but Baker at +1600 for CBPY is a must bet

If Mayfield plays for the Browns?

It’s more likely he’d play for the Panthers I’d imagine lol

I think we need to see how Watson performs for the Browns before we can judge.

If he takes a 1 year suspension this year, i'd be WAY nervous giving a zillion dollars to a healthy QB who hasnt played for the past 2 seasons

Herschel was a running back. While back in the 90s a running back was more important than now it is nowhere near as important as a QB in todays terms
Watson also proved more in his time than Walker did in his

I don’t see how Baker plays another snap for Cleveland. He shouldn’t. Franchise treated him like crap through this.

Even in todays NFL a running back who actually plays is more valuable then a QB that may never ever play .

They’ve been looking to trade him. Browns don’t want him on the roster, Mayfield wants out, etc. Doubt they run it back with Mayfield given all the drama. This isn’t exactly a Jimmy G situation where it’s known he’s got one year left, but everything is pretty smooth otherwise

They will probably trade him to Carolina if I had to guess. Seattle an outside shot but far less likely.

Speaking of Jimmy G, I think he would be a great fit for the Browns. I agree on the fact that Baker staying is not something anyone wants, but they may have to bit the bullet as he is on the roster, they probably will have to eat part of the contract, they are paying millions to another guy who won't play and the QB's available, at this point, are limited. I always thought Mayfield could be a good fit in Detroit, but they appear to be happy with Goff...I think the Lions will be much better this year.

Teams want Baker but they want the Browns to pick up a nice chunk of his salary

I always thought that Baker would go to Seattle. They really dont have a QB and they could be 1 of the worse teams in football this season.

Plus they are in a BRUTAL division

Yep that is one obstacle. But I think they are willing to take it

Browns fans were actually pretty opposed to Watson trade even before latest legal revelations. They really like Baker there

It was the worst because they still had Baker. Made no sense at all. Biggest GM blunder after Portland GM who picked Sam Bowie over Michael Jordan.
