Cops: Mass. girl, 18, encouraged boy to take his life

Teenage girls are the most evil creatures on the planet. But having said that, maybe you lawyers out there can tell me what laws were broken here. Being a piece of shit isn't a crime. Will prosecutors have any real case against her? Is there a precedent?

The Prosecutor believes it meets the Element of a crime.

Even if she is found not guilty, I believe that it accomplishes two major things (possibly 3)

1- it should serve as a deterrent to future pieces of shit like her

2- her and her parents will not only financially take a very large hit defending these serious charges, but mentally as well.

(Possibly #3), we might see a new law about this.

That's the problem nowadays.....people aren't being held accountable for their actions.

You don't know me. Morally responsible and criminally responsible are very different things. Of course what she did isn't ok. That's not the issue.

Im certainly not a lawyer, but in Massachusetts, this might meet the level of involuntary manslaughter. If she contributed to this crime and there was a likelihood that this crime would NOT have been committed otherwise then a conviction could happen. That's what some lawyers are saying anyways.
I personally think it would be very difficult to convict, but a Grand Jury did hand down an indictment.

She is a monster yes and I posted the story so I don't need to get back to you. I read it before I posted it.

If it were my child, I would be questioning what I did as a parent to make my son take these drastic actions. Questioning why he didn't feel he could come to me with his problems.

I wouldn't blame someone that wasn't even there and didn't force him to take his own life.

If you were in LA in the late 60's Charles Manson might have walked.He didn't commit the murders but he got convicted.

You're right, I don't have hard facts with my 99% comment but let's be realistic as far as kids going to thier parents with personal (social) problems. I'm not going to argue those semantics with you, I'm just gonna use common sense.

Dude, Kevorkian physically injected patients with a drug to help them die. He was present and physically participated.

I was under the impression that he administered saline solution into thier veins, then it was the patient that pressed the button to release the concoction that put them to sleep, then stopped thier hearts.

Physically participating and even providing the drugs used to help you commit suicide is very different than what this girl did.

I'm with Enfuego, telling someone to jump off a bridge is not a crime, and it shouldn't even be debated. As far as there being an indictment, unless you're a cop getting an indictment is nearly 100%. No way a judge doesn't throw this out.

Sorry bud, most kids just don't go to mommy and daddy with certain things. Kids go to thier friends.

Unless me and all of my friends growing up were the only kids that were trying to be independent and not going to mommy and daddy with our problems, then I think I am pretty accurate.

If this kid went to his parents and said "I think I'm gonna kill myself tomorrow", then I'm sure his parents would have gotten him help. Instead he went to somebody who he thought was his friend, and here we are.
